Just 2-1/2 hrs from Chicago, Long Lake, Delton in SW Barry County is near Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo and Battle Creek Michigan.
House is 1600 sq. ft. 3 bedroom, 2 bath year-round lakefront with 100 ft. on the lake.
Enjoy 40 ft. dock to fish off of or tie your boats to.
Long Lake is 300 acre all sports spring fed lake great for fishing (walleye, pike, bass, perch ,bluegill etc.), boating, water skiing, jet skiing and swimming. Within a rowing distance from the house there is a sand bar on a lake where you can hang out or enjoy some swimming. Enjoy beautiful sunrises and sunsets while watching the local wildlife The lake has to offer.
House has premium satellite TV,BlueRay Player, Microwave, Coffee Maker, Dishwasher, Refrigerator, Full Size Range, Washer and Dryer . There is a propane grill on a large deck facing the lake.
All linens and towels provided or bring your own.

The home was very clean and well appointed. The outdoor area had a nice grill, pier and small beach. The lake itself was clean and large enough to enjoy the pontoon boat (which we also rented). It's close to nice golf courses as well.

Fabulous property! Pics represent it well, and we had a great week at the lake. Even did some tubing with the pontoon. Great for families especially with the sandy beach area for kids to play.

We had an excellent week! Was not expecting the cottage to be so big! There was plenty of space for everyone! It was very clean! The kitchen was very well stocked with all utensils and appliances you could possibly need! And it was amazing to have AC and a washer/dryer! Outside, we loved the shade tree in the yard! It was 90 degrees plus the week we stayed so it was very needed! I saw other reviews that had some negatives about geese, but we didnā€™t experience that at all. We would highly recommend this location to anyone! It was the perfect getaway for the week:) thanks Ned and Gorica!

Lake week

A picture perfect weather week at Long lake. We enjoyed being lake front and having the boat. Nice that it was well stocked with paper products, spices, soaps. Normally you get a ā€œstarterā€ pack and have to bring your own but all that was provided. We had some issues with sheets being stained and the boat but both the property manager and owner addressed all concerns and fixed immediately. The boat should be cleaned up better for the renters and lights need fixed. We all said we would go back!

Loved this place

The cottage was stocked with everything we could possibly need. Comfortable beds, furniture, kitchen pans and utensils were wonderful. There was nice deck furniture and plenty of life jackets. We were so thankful for the large shade tree to protect us from the beastly hot sun while we were there. Thank you for sharing your cottage for our family.

We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is much roomier inside than I had anticipated. There's lots of seating everywhere, giving you lots of options of where to spend your time. Even though we were there kind of early in the swimming season, the lake bottom was surprisingly hard sand out to the end of the dock and nice for walking around. Our 4 year old really appreciated the small beach area. For those that like to fish, we found the lake has a ton of bluegills and small largemouth. We also caught several small walleye. The lake has pike and, supposedly, smallmouth, but we didn't catch either.

Very responsive manager and owner. Pontoon older but worked and enjoyed rides and fishing. Lots of room. Huge TV. Great deck. Lots of kitchen supllies.

This place is so nice for families! We were here for the second year in a row and were very pleased with our stay. The other reviews posted here are very accurate - could the place use updating? Maybe, but honestly I love it just the way it is.

Beautiful views

Beautiful views of lake and quiet especially during the week. Sand bottom to end of pier. House needs updating and some TLC but was satisfactory. Loads of kitchen accessories. Didn't rent pontoon boat but it needs a really good wash down.

Just as good the 2nd Time

We also stayed at this house in July 2023 and after looking at some other places for Summer 2024 we decided to come back here. With 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths it is just the right size for my wife and I along with our daughter and her husband and their 5-year old twins. The nice size yard and the gently sloping sand beach are perfect for the grandkids. While the house is a bit dated it has good size bedrooms, a decent kitchen, dining area, and large family room all on one floor. And the washer and dryer come in very handy. The only glitch we had on this trip is that when we arrived the owners were still there working to address an issue that had happened during a prior renters stay. Check-in was at 4:00 and it was closer to 5:30 before we got in but everything was fine then. The kayak that was supposed to be at the house was also missing (blew away during a storm?). Anyway it was nice to meet the owners and they graciously provided us with use of the pontoon boat for the week at no additional charge (other than the cost of gas). One other thing to be aware of; there is a youth camp directly across the lake from this house and they can get a bit loud, especially during the afternoon. Overall though, I recommend this place if you're looking for a reasonably priced house right on the lake. A couple of suggestions for the owner - 1) install more towel bars in the master bath, 2) provide some Tupperware or something similar for storing leftovers during the week.

Long Lake Vacation Rental

PROS The hosts were very attentive and checked with us multiple times during our stay to make sure everything was ok and to our satisfaction. The location of the cottage makes it easily accessible from mid-Michigan with very little travel time. The kitchen was well equipped with just about any small appliance you might need for preparing meals. There is a large deck facing the lake and provides a nice setting for relaxing. Our family enjoyed fishing directly from the dock. A water cooler with bottled water is provided and located next to the kitchen in the living room. This was most helpful with cooking, making coffee, and just getting a cold drink of water when needed. During the mid-week of our stay, there was very little boat traffic on the lake and the area was mostly quiet. CONS The cottage is older and could use some updating. The interior has a significant amount of darker wood paneling which makes having shades open and/or lights on a necessity. Some brighter wall colors in painted areas would help too. The yard is fairly flat and rain received during the week caused some ponding making traversing somewhat difficult. The mattress is the master bedroom was in need of replacement. The central air conditioning was an older unit and when needed (outside temps above 80+) had a difficult time cooling to 75 degrees or lower. Bathrooms could use additional towel racks. The pontoon boat also rented could use some attention and updating.

Wonderful, relaxing vacation

House was in a small lake community and had everything needed for cooking. We grilled out twice. Used the firepit. The beds were very comfortable. We were able to relax, unwind and view the lake. We were close enough to town (Hastings) to run to wal mart and get all of our food for the week. The host called to check in with us and answered questions. I would definitely go back again.

Memorial Weekend 2024

This is my 1st VBRO experience and I was so impressed with how easy and convenient it was. The owners really know what they are doing and had everything you could need at the property. Very well stocked with supplies and convenience items. I will def go here again.

Labor Day weekend family getaway

What an awesome place! A perfect lakefront house. On a real nice lake, with nice frontage. The house is very nicely kept and the perfect size for 6 of us in our family. The weather was perfect and we got to enjoy the optionally rented pontoon.

Great place to stay if youā€™re looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway! Everything you can possibly think of is already at the house, you can even rent the owners pontoon boat. The owners are very helpful and responsive. We will be back again!

Loved the lake front ranch home!

Our daughters and their spouses joined us for one week on Long Lake. It was a great vacation. We enjoyed being on the lake with a beach and dock with the rental pontoon boat. The water in Long Lake was so clear and clean - really lovely! Also the yard, deck and fire pit were great for enjoying the outdoors and the lake, the sunset and the stars, swimming and kayaking (We also rented two additional two-person kayaks from the Gun Lake Marina about 20 minutes away transporting them on our car roof racks, because we love to kayak.), and fishing up and down the lake. The house had good hang out space indoors and for dining and food prep. Bottled water always chilled made things easy. Sleeping rooms were as represented and comfortable. Also it was great looking out on the ripening fruit trees in the front lawn. The pears were nearly all gone but various types of apples were abundant and a few peaches were still on the tree. The neighborhood was friendly. We walked the dog up and down the road which provided a decent distance for a people walk or a dog walk. Owners were accessible and responsive. We had a very enjoyable stay!

Great lake house with everything needed for a great vacation.

Booking and setup was very easy and streamlined. Instructions on access and everything about the lake house were simple and easy. The host was always very attentive before and during our stay. They really wanted us to enjoy ourselves. The house was plenty big enough for a family of four with a dog. House was stocked with all supplies needed for our stay and had all the amenities as described and then some. We rented the boat and enjoyed fishing and just cruising beautiful Long lake. The kids swam every day and played in the nice little beach steps from the back door. Nearest town is Hastings and has everything you need for groceries, supplies and dining out. Long lake is a great little community and we will be back again.

Perfect for a family!

We had an excellent stay and made lots of memories! The beach area is perfect for young kids. My 2 and a half year old had a blast, and I felt very comfortable with him on the deck and in the yard and on the beach. Grandparents all had a great time also. It was nice that the house had lots of space and was all one level. The camp across the lake was so fun to watch and listen to! We found it to be really entertaining and not at all disruptive as the campers are on a very set and predictable schedule. My toddler napped inside from 1-3 each day and could not hear any of the hootin and hollerin of the campers swimming, so donā€™t let that give you cause for concern. Neighbors were extremely quiet and/or not home. Lake itself not crazy busy and felt very safe for kayaking, fishing, boating, swimming, etc. We plan to be back again!

Nice lake property for family

Good size house & availability of pontoon paddleboat kayak great. Big deck & sandy beach area perfect for small kids. Kitchen well equipped but disappointed w oven & dishwasher. Would suggest grab bars in masterbath as tub is difficult to get into for adults & children. Step outside door to deck def needs repair.

We were visiting a friend that lives on the lake and fell in love with it. We liked quiet evenings, crystal clear water and sky full of stars.

If a trendy cafe around the corner is your thing than this is not the place for you. This is quiet, lake side fires, hanging on a raft kind of place, fishing, etc. Turn of the cell phone and relax, bring the dog and watch the sun set, or later on gaze at the star filed sky that you never noticed before.
