This charming 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom 2nd floor home is the perfect family rental that will leave both, the kids and the adults happy. The home has a large flat LED screen TV in the living area, a fully equipped kitchen and bedrooms with very comfortable mattresses. A King size bed in the Master Bedroom and two queen size beds in Bedroom #2. The Master Bedroom has a flat screen LED TVs and ceiling fans and there is a laundry room with a washer and a dryer conveniently located in the home. A French style door connects you with the wonderful balcony/deck and tropical patio, featuring a huge swimming pool. Other amenities include WiFi throughout the property and free parking for up to two vehicles. The property is pet friendly for house trained pets (pet fee/per pet required - 2 pets max)

The wonderful South Padre Island beach is only a short walk away, and there are a couple of very good restaurants at walking distance from the home, such as PadreRita Grill and Black Beards, two of my favorites!

House-trained pets allowed through a small pet fee.(2 max) usually $59 per pet. If it was not included on the original quote, it may be charged after reservation is booked.

This property is registered and holds an Occupancy Permit from the city of South Padre Island

Great location for a beach trip

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on SPI! The house is located just a short walk to beach access, as well as restaurants and shopping. The space was perfect for our visit and we enjoyed having breakfast and afternoon cocktails on the balcony.

Great spot on South Padre

Overall great experience! Clean and a super quick walk to the beach. The shower outside was super helpful to wash off all the sand. The pool was great for relaxing. Central to everything. Would stay again!

Great location walking distance to everything

Nice house in great location with in 1 mile to so many restaurants, bars, shopping, and live music. Place was clean and as advertised and we enjoyed our stay. We really enjoyed the massive covered patio and 3 minute walk to the beach. House does have a very nice pool, however, you share with another unit and if that unit has 8 family members, it is not an enjoyable experience. We avoided the pool and just enjoyed the beach. Owner was available for questions and very nice.

Great place to stay

Had a wonderful time at Casa Mesquite with my family. The location was very close to the beach access. Having 2 queen size beds was great for the second bedroom for my adult kids. We were also able to bring our dogs which is a big plus for me! The house was plenty big for us. Thank you for allowing us to bring our fur family!

Great get away for family!!

Property better than photo. We stayed in the upstairs unit. Patio was huge and we were able to see our kids swim from above. The pool is grand, with plenty of furniture to sunbathe on. Inside, duplex was clean and cozy. Had all the amenities listed plus 2 walk in closets and a laundry room. Check in was super easy. Neighborhood was quite and had a 3 minute walk to a restaurant that was right off the beach. We plan to return in the future. Thank you so much Roberto!

Not a Bad Little Stay

First, let me say this is a perfectly adequate property. This is a hard review to write because I’m very conflicted. The place is as advertised: clean, spacious, and a short jaunt to the beach. It is very clear this place is run by a professional short term rental company. It felt very sterile. No homey touches, nothing but the bare bones of a rental (including the number of toilet paper rolls you are allowed), which is fine. I’ve just had better on the island. The beds weren’t great, and the sheets in the master felt like paper. Not the end of the world. The biggest drawback for me was the complete lack of privacy. The balcony opens out onto the pool area (which is nice if the people beneath you don’t completely monopolize it, which unfortunately they did). You can see (and can be seen) by all the properties across the way. You can also hear EVERYTHING, which is exceptionally unpleasant if you have discourteous downstairs neighbors like us, or discourteous renters across the way. The children screaming and loud music playing all night made it hard to relax, let alone sleep. If you plan on spending zero time in this place, that’s fine, but we were extremely annoyed. Again, this isn’t the fault of the property owners, but rude neighbors that, unfortunately we couldn’t escape. Ultimately it depends on what you’re looking for in you SPI trip. Not a terrible place at all, but we would not stay here again.

SPI vacation

The property was pretty good. The stairs were very steep for me. The pool was awesome. The downstairs tenants had a large group come over to visit and swim at night. Good location.

Family getaway us. Other couple wsd

Great experience. Very convenient location to beach and other dinners. We had a big pool semiprivate to us. Only a small leak in the shower, but we reported for it to be fixed. Other than that I highly recommend this place. House ifs fully equipped with all you need. I loved the convenience of dishwasher, laundry room. Also, we did some time in the outside deck it was just perfect. We plan to come back ;)

Excellent location, great experience

This is the second year we’ve stayed at Casa Mezquite and we highly recommend it. The location is a very short walk to the beach, shopping and restaurant/bars. This 2 bedroom condo is located above another unit and shares a beautiful pool with plenty of chairs and loungers. It also has a great enclosed upper deck that provides both sun and shade, and a perfect place for our dog to hang out. Roberto is very responsive to questions so don’t hesitate to contact him if you need anything. We are not very experienced with streaming tv and we’re a little confused on how it worked but Roberto was there to help us out. We highly recommend a short walk to The Palms for breakfast on the beach, Josephine’s for breakfast or lunch and Tom & Jerry’s for a fun night out. This house provides a great opportunity to park your car and walk anywhere.

Wonderful Property!!!!

This is a wonderful property! This was perfect for our family. A short 5 minute walk to the beach. The property is just a shown in the pictures. The backyard is a tropical oasis! Full size appliances in the kitchen and laundry room. Walk in closets in both rooms with plenty of storage for luggage, etc. We could see the fireworks from the upper deck. Walking distance to many popular restaurants. We met Roberto. This is an owner who aims to please and is always available if needed. We will be staying her again next time. Overall just an excellent property!

Relaxing and Beautiful Oasis!!!!

We had such an amazing time. The place was spacious enough for of and the 4 dogs. The patio/balcony came in handy. Everything was amazing and the pool was beautiful and relaxing. We are hoping to stay there again on our next vacay. The place was perfect and clan when we checked in. I would recommend tHis to everyone. Roberto, thanks so much for everything.

So nice! A real home away from home!

We stayed in the upstairs unit and it was great? Loved the partial walk around deck. The pool is pretty huge and the ambiance with the palm trees around the pool is so perfect. We were actually able to see fireworks perfectly from the deck on Thursday night. We were not even 500 yards walking distance from the beach-didn't have to drive to the beach at all. There's a shower head by the driveway so you can rinse off sand before going into the house. There was an iron and ironing board, washer and dryer, coffee maker, blender, microwave, stove, fridge. It was a full kitchen set up like being home. They've got knives, cutting boards, pots and pans, plates, cups,dishwasher, etc. Huge closets with hangers, plenty of towels (shower towels) and wash cloths. Bring laundry detergent! Big mirrors in the bathrooms which is great for getting ready with other people in the same bathroom. It was really great. We were super comfortable the entire stay!

Great location and everything we needed

Great location! Walking distance to the beach and restaurants. The patio was spacious and always had a great breeze. The pool area was really nice with plenty of space to sit and relax. The unit itself was basic but had everything that we could ask for. The owner was also very nice and incredibly responsive to any questions we had before and during our stay. Hoping to stay here again next year!

I fell in love with the potential of the property the first time I saw it. It became an immediate project to bring it to the standard of all of our beach condos. The patio, swimming pool area and the beauty of the palm trees in it is something that really caught my attention.

This property has become my favorite for several reasons besides the swimming pool. To mention just a couple, it is a short walk away from the beach and it is centrally located and close to everything. We love coming to SPI to enjoy the weather and the beach!
