Vacation like a local Michigander at Guy's Doll House! Family & pet friendly.

Guy's Doll House is a peaceful, comfortably equipped cottage nestled in the woods; just a short walk from the singing sands of Lake Michigan beaches and right around the corner from the Galien River. The cottage is set back from the street providing ample parking and a large front yard. The Doll House is a three bedroom, one bath cottage that sleeps 6-8. The property offers a game room, a hot tub (open June-October), a fire pit built into the deck and a propane grill. All bedding, linens & kitchen essentials and basic toiletries are provided.

When you enter the cottage, immediately on your right you will find a hallway leading to the laundry facilities; and the perfect wall on which to hang wet towels & bathing suits between uses. Just beyond that hallway, you will enter the full kitchen equipped with cookware, bakeware, glassware, dishware and utensils. Basic cooking essentials included. The first door on the right is the kitchen closet/pantry and the second door leads to the upstairs bunkroom (three single beds) and bedroom (Queen bed and fold out single futon). Please note that this is an older cottage and the stairway to the upper level has been described as steep and narrow, but fortunately we have a ground level bedroom and a pull-out sofa bed to accommodate guests unable to navigate the staircase to the second level. The third door on your right is the bathroom, stocked with bath linens and basic toiletries; and the fourth door is the downstairs bedroom (Queen bed). As you walk through the dinette, you will find the living room (Pull out sofa - double). The front door in the living room leads you to the three-season front porch where you will find the perfect daybed on which to lounge and read a book, birdwatch or take an afternoon nap.
The game room entrance is directly across from the cottage's side entry door. Family fun is the name of the game {room}! Play cards or board games! There is a mini fridge and a microwave to keep your drinks cold and get your snacks hot.
In front of the game room, you will find our boardwalk deck. On one end is a built-in fire pit, stacked with firewood and a two-person swing; the perfect place to roast some marshmallows and devour some s'mores. At the other end you will find the hot tub situated next to the propane grill and Mann Cave; with an auxiliary refrigerator and plastic drinkware. Two patio sets are situated in the middle for outdoor dining. Beyond the Mann Cave are two picnic tables for additional outdoor dining.
All of these facilities comprise approximately one-third of the back of an acre of property, bounded by woods on three sides: providing an expansive front yard! There is ample room to kick around a soccer ball, play catch, chip some golf balls {towards the road, please} or spin around the yard on the provided bicycles.
Venturing off the property, you can walk along the Galien River under what I affectionally describe as a "tree-tunnel" just around the corner. Free public access to Union Pier's beach is a 20-minute walk; or really easy bike ride, passing through our quaint little downtown area. So quaint, we don't even have a stop light! There you will find a bakery, a convenience store, a grocery store/sandwich shop, an ice cream shop and beach gear rental shop in the event you desire more beach toys than provided. Union Pier opened a bath house and public parking for beach access downtown. A 10-minute walk, or easy bike ride, in the opposite direction of downtown will lead you to the tasting rooms of a couple of local, Michigan wineries.
