This charming and historic colonial home was built in the 1680s. With post and beam construction and 300 year old pumpkin pine paneling. With 2 queen beds, 2 twin beds, and a queen futon in the office, guests will find ample accommodations. Enjoy the convenience of AC, WiFi, and all the modern amenities during your stay. Pamper yourself in the jetted bathtub after a day touring historic and authentic New England sites. Book now and enjoy everything this antique farmhouse has to offer. PLEASE NOTE: We are installing a new colonial wood shingle roof. It WILL NOT be worked on while you are visiting. But there are construction materials and scaffolding for the carpenters.

We had a terrific stay over Thanksgiving at Jamieā€™s colonial farmhouse. The house was clean and comfortable - with a well stocked kitchen, comfortable family room and large dining room - perfect for preparing and eating our Thanksgiving meal. We hope to stay here again!

Wonderful, cozy old farmhouse

Really enjoyed our stay! This is a cozy old farmhouse on a beautiful quiet road. The house is old but very comfortable with a modern, well-stocked kitchen, streaming services on the TV in the living room, a BBQ grill in the back and a nice garden/outdoor area. It's 5 minutes from a huge supermarket and close to I95/128, easy access into downtown Boston. Jamie was a wonderful host who was always available if we needed anything. Highly recommended for families who like historic houses!

Boston marathon week

Super cool historic house in a lovely neighborhood---wild turkeys, bunnies and flowers abound! Old houses have quirks (so expect some), but we embraced the place and had a great time. Easy access to all the awesome Boston stuff we wanted to see.

Great stay

We spent the week of Thanksgiving at Jamieā€™s house. She was an excellent host and provided a great option for us. We were visiting from out of state, and the location was perfect to access family members, Boston and almost anywhere in New England. There was easy access to rt 95 and the Mass Pike. All in all it was a terrific stay.

Farmhouse for grad party

I had an amazing stay at this farmhouse, with rooms dated to the late 1600s. Jamie was a wonderful host, easy to communicate with, and provided us a tent and items to have a wonderful outdoor grad party. It was so nice to wake up to wind chimes and see turkeys on the property daily. Such a joyful experience!

Charming with a great vibe

This house is absolutely adorable! We love old homes, and this one was so charming. It's in a quiet location, but easy to get to Boston and Salem. Jamie was easy to communicate with. One thing to be aware of, if you're booking in the summer of 2025, there is some work being done to the outside of the home. This did not interfere with anything, just something to note.We would definitely stay here again, if we ever find ourselves back in the Boston area!

Great stay in Weston

This was an ideal spot for a family trip to Boston. The place is just as it is described, it is an old farmhouse in a beautiful setting and great location with easy access to the city. It is not modern...but that is what makes the place so unique. Jamie was an absolutely wonderful host and did everything possible to make our stay comfortable. We experienced an unprecedented heatwave and of course it was hot...but that was to be expected! Jamie got us fans and checked in regularly to see what could be done to make the home more comfortable. There was great communication and made for a wonderful week with family. Would definitely stay here again.

Holiday happiness

As the description says, this house, part of it nearly 400 years old, is a lived-in home, not a impersonal, purpose-made rental furnished in West Elm. It is a warm, much-loved, cozy-yet-spacious accommodation, and was perfect for a week-long family visitā€”board games and charades in LR and DR; separate spaces for working adults, moody teenagers, and readers to retreat to; a kitchen whose layout, ample equipment, and generous larder allowed serious cooking and co-op meal prep (Hannukah latkes!). It was great, and Jamie was the most welcoming and flexible of hosts.

Perfect for history lovers!

Where else in the US can you stay in a 17th century house? The oldest part of this beautiful farmhouse dates to 1686, and the restoration has tastefully maintained that feel, plus a tasteful modern addition that includes the amenities you'd expect. Lots of room, ample parking, excellent hot water and HVAC. We were a little concerned it might be cold in the house, since it was in the 20's outside--but not at all. Depending on traffic, it's about a 30 minute drive to downtown, and the immediate area has some good restaurants and a great grocery store. 10 to 15 minutes will get you to Newton or Cambridge, where there are scores of amazing restaurants as well. Would absolutely stay here again.

Rustic and Relaxing

If you are looking for a modern property, then this is NOT the place. If you are looking for comfort with a taste for the natural habitat for a family then this might be the place. Wild turkeys greeted us when we arrived and left, and the surroundings were serene. There is significant work being done on the house, so the pictures are a bit deceiving for the outside. Inside, there is plenty of room - large kitchen leading to dining and living rooms; there is a bathroom and bedroom on the main floor, which is convenient. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs with 2 full bathrooms.This place is approximately 20 minutes out of Boston, with amenities nearby. We found a florist and a starbucks, and we found a great Irish pub for dinner.

Exactly what I was looking for! We loved this beautiful and well stocked place that felt like a tiny slice of peaceful heaven so close to the sights of the city. Gracious host, super comfy beds, steep stairs with gorgeous wood details everywhere, turkeys and bunnies greeting us, delicious coffee from the percolatorā€¦ Iā€™ll be finding a reason to stay again if I possibly can.

This wasn't a bad place to stay if you don't mind an old farmhouse with basic needs. Really disappointed that it advertised hot-tub and there is no hot-tub. One sitting there, probably not used in 5 years. One nice bedroom and bed. Other beds were not great at all. Bathroom jet tub was dirty. Shower curtain and shower not clean to my standards but could be to yours. Kitchen was great! Only thing is refrigerator didn't have anything in it so you would have to buy condiments and things if you planned to cook your own meals. We didn't so that didn't bug us. Every VBRO I've stayed at provides that stuff. The roof had a tarp over 1/3 of the house. The yard is not open as the picture shows its full of garden boxes. Not a bad place just don't expect it to be wonderful. I would stay there again but I grew up in a old farmhouse.
