The house was as advertised as far as what was seen in the pictures. Some of the light bulbs/fixtures were not operational, but the house as a whole was very clean and accommodating. Communication with the host was quick and straightforward.

First, I would like to thank the owner for allowing my family to stay at the property during our trip to Boston. The home has potential, and the appliances were modern and very nice.Unfortunately, the overall experience did not meet our expectations based on the listing. The exterior yard and deck area were dirty and unkempt, with trash, old liquor bottles, and even gum stuck to the patio table. The outdoor furniture was dirty and partially broken, making the space unusable for our family gathering.Inside, the home appeared surface-cleaned but not thoroughly cleaned. We noticed dirty windows, burned out lights, low-quality kitchen utensils, and no kitchen table despite the home accommodating large groups. The lower level of the home, where several bedrooms were located, was especially concerning. There were broken doors, damaged furniture, poor lighting, a broken ping pong table, and visible floor damage in the laundry area.The listing advertised a grill, but when I contacted the host beforehand to confirm whether the grill was charcoal or gas, the response felt dismissive, almost as if the host was unaware the listing advertised a grill. Ultimately, we had to adjust our plans and the host provided a small charcoal grill and charcoal for our use.Overall, the stay was not terrible, but the cleanliness, maintenance, and accuracy of the listing did not align with the expectations set online. The property has potential, but improvements and attention to detail are needed.

Let me start out with the positive. The residence had large, comfortable rooms and a number of them.My experience was anything but perfect for the first day. We had no heat, not water, working stove, the washer did work but the dryer was terrible (4 hours to dry items), and some other minor items.As to the living conditions there were no towels racks or towels available when we checked in for any bathroom. No toilet paper hangers. Lighting in the downstairs bathroom is suboptimal.I would say that no one has really tried to live in the premises as it appears that it was renovated and is now for sale.For all of the issues we encountered the landlord was very responsive but in reviewing prior reviews the issues we encountered had been mentioned previously as problems and not been addressed. Also I think we encountered more issues with the hot water, lack of heat, and stove due to shut offs of utilities or reduction of them. The first night temperatures were down to 62 degrees upstairs and 58 downstairs until the heat got turned on.The landlord said he would refund one of the 4 nights amount due to the issues and I have yet to see it or get a response from him. We will see.

Space is very open and great for hosting. Issues we had include the basement bathroom light did not work (had to use with the door open), we counted 1 less bed than advertised (5 total), and the kitchen was only moderately stocked, no paper towels, dish soap, or cleaning supplies.

You went above and beyond to make sure my wife and family felt welcome and comfortable throughout our stay. Host was quick to respond and helpful. It had very spacious living area. There is a king bed, all the "queen" beds were actually doubles. There were bath towels but no washcloths. There was a Keurig, not coffee maker as advertised. It was sufficient for our two day stay. We had a great visit to Boston. The house location was easy driving to the harbor walk and seaport district. We were able to Uber relatively cheap to Fenway and downtown Boston. It was overall a good experience with this host. Thank you!

Modern, high end, and spacious

This property is newly renovated and HUGE!The location is good. We didn't have a car, but there was plenty of parking. It was a short walk from the trolley that connects to the red line, and maybe 15 minutes in the other direction to commuter rail. There is a supermarket and some great bars and restaurants just a short walk away too. Pretty much everything we needed was nearby. Getting into central Boston was just under an hour on transit, including the walk.The unit is the bottom two floors of a huge house. There is so much room! The primary bedroom has an ensuite and is massive. The other bedrooms are all well appointed. The beds are really comfortable. There's a powder room on the main floor and a full bathroom in the basement/lower floor. There's a rec room of sorts in the basement too. The main floor has the kitchen and TV room. All of the appliances and TVs are high end and brand new. The Smart Fridge was fun. WiFi was fast. You can tell that this is a new rental unit. Everything is new, bright and shiny. But there were a few supplies missing that I am sure will be added over time. The host was responsive whenever we had a question. For our group of friends and family attending Marathon weekend, it was perfect and we'd gladly stay again!

Nice house lacking basic needs

The house was nice, and it comfortably sleeps 10, but they only have plates, bowls and cutlery for five. there’s one pot no pans. no dish rag to wash the dishes there’s a pizza sheet, cooking utensils, and three rolling pins . They have a coffee maker, but no coffee cups, The dryer doesn’t work so that was a nightmare. Many of the lights were burned out and the yard hadn’t been mowed in weeks and the six days we were there nobody did it. The yard and back patio have junk in corners and the stairwell next to the patio is full of trash, which is a real eyesore. It’s outwardly nice but very inconvenient. I didn’t lower my rating based on those inconveniences because I did not reach out and ask them to fix any of it. I rated cleanliness a little bit lower because outwardly it looked clean, but when you walked on the floor barefoot. your feet got very dirty so mopping apparently wasn’t done. I stayed at a VRBO instead of a hotel because I would be able to pack less and wash my things and cook some of my own meals. Unfortunately, in this house that was impossible unless I planned on buying them pots and pans and dishes. For anyone staying here, I would point out This is not a very handicap or elderly friendly home and the short distance to the trolley is actually about a mile on very narrow sometimes slanted sidewalks. so if you’re elderly, that might not be an easy trek. There are Ubers that wil take you there for anywhere between 7 to 10 a day.

Good location and very spacious. The top floor has a nice layout and we appreciated having 2.5 bathrooms. On street parking was readily available.Host did not share check in information until 3 hours before check in, and after repeated inquiries. As we were all traveling to this location that day, it was an added and unnecessary stressor. The building is for sale and clearly remodeled in a quick flip (cheap or non-functional fixtures), The main living room tv would not work even after days of attempting to connect to the WiFi. Soap was provided in only one bathroom, also no dish soap or sponges. Ample glasswear, but a toaster would be nice. Cleaning supplies (mop, buckets, etc.) left sitting out in the kitchen area. The outdoor area had trash on it. Lower level had dismantled ping pong table and appliances ready for install sitting out in the living area. For the price, it was disappointing. The upstairs occupants blasted music until 4 a.m. for both nights of our stay. I understand the host cannot control neighbors but it was pretty disappointing all in all.
