Beautiful pod-style home at the exclusive Mauna Kea Beach Resort with panoramic ocean views. This 2 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home is in a prime location on a bluff above the beach and features a large pool and sunning deck with spectacular sunset views. Located in one of the most private areas of the Mauna Kea Resort, Fairways South 25 is perfect for families looking for a luxurious indoor / outdoor living experience at the Big Island's most prestigious beach resort.

The home consists of three separate pods encircling the pool and spacious outdoor lanai, each with their own AC system. The recently renovated living room and kitchen pod offers wall-to-wall glass windows for gorgeous ocean views and features upgraded appliances, redwood paneling and colorful Mauna Kea decor. The master bedroom pod is located across the breezeway on the other side of the pool deck and features a king bed, vaulted ceilings, a large en-suite bathroom and private outdoor shower than can be accessed by the pool deck. The guest bedroom pod offers a king bed, vaulted ceilings and an en-suite bathroom with a large outdoor shower.

The home offers a large deep water pool that is heated for your enjoyment. Around the pool is a large tanning deck that is perfect for lounging under the Hawaiian sun.

Enjoy the best of Big Island living at Fairways South 25, a modern take on vintage luxury in one of the choicest lots at the Mauna Kea Beach Resort.

Guests of Mauna Kea Fairways 25 may purchase daily resort access to enjoy all facilities and amenities at both the Mauna Kea and Westin Hapuna Resorts. Access must be purchased for the entire duration of your stay and covers all registered guests in the unit. Please note: This privilege is offered directly by Mauna Kea Resort, and South Kohala Management is not responsible for any changes to resort services or amenities. Rates are as follows:
2025: $130 per day
2026: $150 per day (Base Rate) | $225 per day (Peak Rate). Peak rates apply from March 21-April 11, November 21-27, and December 19-January 2, 2027.
2027: Rates have not yet been determined and are subject to change.

Private, Perfect Location!

We couldn't have asked for a more private, gorgeous location! Even when the weather was cloudy or rainy, above this house it was always perfect! The house is so cool and authentic Hawaiian style! The private pool is huge and amazing. I fell in love with the tree in front of the deck. It just felt perfectly surreal and we are grateful for our time at this home!

Beautiful house , extremely well apppointed kitchen and gorgeous view. Loved the pool. Slight mar outdoor patios and furniture really dusty, I ended up striped before I realized.

Perfect vacation home!

Great views, fabulous deck, and pool. Wonderful kitchen and eating area. Could not say enough about how much we enjoyed this house.

Unique home with amazing views

This was one of the more unique properties we have stayed at. I didn't read the VRBO listing in more detail (more on that later), and fell in love with the photos online of the views, location, and living areas. The home has been recently updated with quality finishes, but the older parts of the home were showing their wear/tear--mainly the doors. We had minor issues with electrical and one of the doors not working but the management company was great to work with and very responsive. The pool was cleaned every other day so it was always in perfect condition for us to jump in whenever we pleased. House came fully stocked and it was super helpful to have a very effecient washer/dryer. The only cons that I should have read more in detail about the home was that both showers were located outside. The master shower backed up to a golf course so sometimes I can see people teeing off as I was showering and hoping they didn't turn around to see me! The second bathroom outdoor shower was more enclosed so we ended up using that one more often. The other detail that I missed was that the main house containing the living and kitchen areas are compeltely separate from the bedrooms, so you need to go outside down the walkway by the pool to get to the bedrooms and bathrooms. There was a storm when we were there and we were sprinting down the uncovered walkway during torrential downpours to get to the bathroom from the main house. That all said, it's a beautiful property with stunning views of the ocean and sunsets. At night, it's so dark that you can see the stars and milky way--amazing!

Spectacular vista

Great location. Private, spectacular vista. Low marks on housekeeping. Dust and dust clumps. Fan in bedroom loaded with dust. Shades dusty. Drawers in bedrooms need cleaning.. Main building with kitchen was cleaner except glass shelves in bar very dusty. BBQ needs replacement.....only has two of five flavor bars and they are rusted out; extremely dirty, no drip tray; ignition not working; brush totally worn out.

Stunning Sunset Location

Beautiful property in gorgeous location behind the gates at the Mauna Kea resort. Two very private bungalow style bedrooms with outdoor showers and another living area pod with kitchen. Perfect location for a second honeymoon. We had stunning sunsets each night.

Hidden Tranquil Property

My in-laws and husband stayed here for our wedding. It was absolutely perfect with the individual units for the living/kitchen and bedrooms. We had plenty of space and privacy. The grounds are kept very nice as well as the house. The pool was not heated but did not need to be as it was warm enough by just the sun. We can't wait to return in a year for our anniversary!
