LUXURY CHALET IN A GREAT LOCATION! Legacy Chalet is a large, newly remodeled, ski chalet located in the heart of the Killington Valley area. Located only 5 min from the base of Pico and 10 min from all the action in Killington- this unique property is located near the best outdoor experiences central Vermont has to offer! Relax in the beautiful Great Room or have a drink down in the Speakeasy (hidden by a SECRET DOOR). See photo descriptions for further details.

The neighborhood is located off of the convenient Route 4 in the central Vermont valley. While the neighborhood feels very quiet and secluded...it is only a short drive down the mountain to all of the conveniences of Rutland VT (10 Minutes away) and Killington VT (less than 15 minutes away). Pico Mountain is located 5 minutes from Legacy Chalet.

To get to Legacy Chalet, guests will drive up a mountain to an elevation of over 2,000 feet. The home is located on a dead-end road in the `Rural District` of Mendon. The neighborhood has direct access to several popular hiking trails, mountain bike trails, and snowmobile trails. The VAST snowmobile trail network is only a few hundred yards away from Legacy Chalet!

Guests will need a car to get around the area. There are several hiking, biking, and snowmobile trails within walking distance.
✸✸SHORT TERM RENTAL AGREEMENT & RULES✸✸

BY BOOKING A RENTAL AT THE PREMISES, YOU HEREBY AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING RULES AND REGULATIONS:
1. Check-in Time: After 5:00 PM EST.

2. Check-out Time: No later than 10:00 AM EST. If you fail to check out by this time on your last scheduled day at the Premises, you may be liable for the cost of an extra night. Our cleaning staff will arrive a few minutes after checkout. This check-out time is comparable to other rentals in the area and allows our cleaning staff enough time to properly clean and sanitize the home for the next group.

3. Security Deposit: Guests will provide the deposit as laid out by booking platforms for potential damages. The deposit will be returned less any amount deducted to cover damages. If the damages exceed the deposit amount, you may be liable for any shortage.

4. Cancellation Policy: The cancellation policy will be enforced per the policy of the booking platform. We always recommend guests purchase travel insurance.

5. Management Hours and Communication Method: All communications shall be sent and received through the booking platform. Our office hours are typically 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM (EST) Monday through Friday. Management will be available on weekends to respond on an as-needed basis and will attempt to return any messages as quickly as possible on weekends.

6. Maintenance Problems: During your stay, promptly report any maintenance problems through the booking platform. Maintenance may enter the premises to make repairs. If you report any unnecessary maintenance, you could be billed $100.00 per occurrence.

7. Keys: Where applicable, keys to the Premises are to be left on the kitchen counter. There will be a charge of $25.00 for each lost key.

8. Parking: You may park in the dedicated parking area of the Premises only. Please do not park on the road.

9. Garbage: Please place ALL garbage in the trash bags provided. Please discard all bags in the proper receptacles that are provided.
There is a large metal bin in the driveway. Please place your trash in inside and latch it to prevent wildlife interference. If you require more space or have excessive amounts of garbage, please contact your host. Leaving an excessive amount of garbage, or not properly bagging your garbage, could result in a $50 excessive cleaning fee.

10. General and Safety Rules:
✸ No open flames or grills on decks
✸ Fires are not allowed anywhere inside of the Premises. Any unauthorized fires (including candles) will be charged $60.00 plus damages. Fireworks cannot be used on the grounds or balconies at the Premises.
✸ Possession or use of a firearm is prohibited.
✸ Possession or use of illegal narcotics is prohibited.
✸ No tampering with fire/burglar alarm equipment and devices
✸ No underage consumption of alcoholic beverages on the Premises and no contributing to the delinquency of minors.
✸ Do not leave windows and doors open while operating air conditioning.
✸ The refrigerator/freezer temperature settings should be set in the middle position for optimal performance. Please do not adjust their settings.

11. Occupancy: If more people at any point in time are brought to the Premises that were not included on the original reservation, you may be asked to leave the Premises without a refund or we will enforce a $75.00 per person per night fee for each additional guest. Our maximum occupancy is 8 guests. Please make sure you enter the correct number of guests at the time you make your reservation. If you decide after your reservation that you need to add more guests and it is still within our 8-guest limit, please message us and we will be happy to accommodate.

12. Age Restriction: Primary renter must be at least 25 years of age, and have a government issued photo ID on file with the booking platform. You cannot book if you will not be staying the entire booking period. Guests under the minimum age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. No exceptions. Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of any payment, reservation fee or final payment and check-in will not be permitted or eviction of guest who has already checked in may occur. If you are under 25 years old and have multiple 5-star reviews as a guest, please reach out and we are happy to discuss potential options.

13. Pet Requirements & Rules: We are happy to welcome pets at Legacy Chalet. This includes Emotional Support Animals. Please refer to each platform`s respective Accessibility Policy for more details.
Pet Requirements & Rules:
 Disclose all visiting pets on the booking platform.
 Please only bring fully house-trained pets.
 Please keep pets off of ALL furniture. Beds included.
 Do not leave pets unattended and wandering in the home. Bring a crate if necessary.
 Report any damage caused by your pet. If we don’t need to charge you- rest assured, we won’t.
 If an accident does occur- please clean it thoroughly.
 Please keep pets leashed outside.
 Please clean up all pet waste and stool in the yard.
 Do not throw bags of waste in the outdoor trash bin without putting it in a trash bag first.
 If your pet sheds- please clean hair to avoid any excessive cleaning fees.
 Just as a general practice- prior to departure- walk through the home to make sure the pet did not leave behind any hair or unnoticed accidents.
Failure to comply with these rules may result in a $200.00 excessive cleaning fee.

14. Outdoor Security Camera: There is an outdoor security camera mounted on the exterior of the home facing the driveway. This camera is equipped with video and audio capabilities. This is the only camera located on the Premises and is used for security purposes only.

15. Power, Mechanical Failures & Closures: During your stay, if there is a failure of an item at the Premises, such as mechanical failures or service provider failures, we will make every effort to fix said item, but we are under no legal requirement to do so. We are not responsible for service outages caused by private vendors, such as the electricity provider, water and garbage provider, internet provider, cable provider, etc.

16. Furnishings: Please do not move furniture, including TV’s or other electronic equipment, from present location. If you remove accessories to protect children, they should be replaced prior to departure. Do not remove outdoor furniture from its present location.

17. Linens: Bed, bath and kitchen linens are provided for your convenience. Please make sure all linens, towels and other items are left and are not removed from the Premises. Items missing after your departure are subject to being billed to the credit card on file.

18. Forgotten Items: Items left in the Premises or car during your stay are not the responsibility of the property managers. If your personal items are left in or at the Premises after your departure, you will be notified if they are found. They can be returned to the address you specify. There will be a shipping and handling fee to return. There may be a $25.00 service charge in addition to postage for any items that have to be mailed back to you.

19. Smoking Policy: No smoking or vaping. Smoking or vaping is not permitted at the Premises at any time. The outdoor areas are also non-smoking areas. Evidence of smoking will result in an additional minimum $250 cleaning fee post-checkout.

20. Electronics (where applicable): Televisions, Record players, CD players, etc. are pre-programmed. Equipment is not to be modified in any way or relocated. Non-compliance will result in a $25.00 reprogramming fee. The TVs are smart TVs and equipped with streaming services for you. Please use your own login credentials for your streaming needs and remember to log out of these services when you depart. Guests are not allowed to make purchases or rentals through any TV services. Any such action will result in a fee. Roku Guest Mode is provided on most TV’s. This allows guests to select their check out date and their log in credentials will be automatically deleted on their check out day. It is highly recommended that guests use this feature. Please remember to leave the remotes next to each TV when not in use. At check in please notify us immediately if electronic equipment is not working properly.

21. Internet: The internet available is typically very reliable and sufficient for our guests` needs. The internet speeds should provide quality HD streaming on all TVs.

22. Heat System/Pumps: Radiators: Feel free to adjust the settings within the limits to make yourself comfortable using the smart thermostats.

I woud give more than 5 stars if I could. The home was perfect for a family get away. There was tons of space for teens and kids. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen and sitting area were wonderful. The home was very clean and the host was great at communication. We hope to come again! Thank you!

Excellent stay

Highly recommend Legacy Chalet. It is a beautiful place that exceeded our expectations. The hot tub is a great touch and was perfect for relaxing after a long day. The owner was very nice and accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. Our family will be coming back again

Easy check in. Brian was super friendly and responsive but also gave us plenty of space to do our thing. House has been really well updated. I was skeptical about summer but overall it was a great stay. Would love to come back.

A perfect mountain retreat!

Legacy Chalet is the perfect Vermont mountain retreat! My family loved the privacy and quiet while also being so close to everything—Killington, hiking trails, etc. The chalet was clean and inviting and had plenty of space to spread out. I loved the hot tub and my kids loved the outdoor movie projector and the fire pit! I would love to come back in the winter for skiing at Killington!

We had the perfect stay at the Legacy Chalet! Every detail was thought about during the renovations and as a family with small children, we appreciated the kids’ room, pack and play, toys, and even a location to put our baby monitor. The speakeasy was so cool with entertainment for all ages. The living space was so cozy and clean. Additionally the location was unbeatable. We made trips to Killington, Ben and Jerry’s and Lake Champlain. We will definitely be back!

Great Getaway Weekend

Clean place, with tons of room. Our kids loved all the entertainment options, they didn’t want to leave. The great room was a perfect place to kick back, and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook our own meals. Thanks, Brian. You made all aspects of this trip super easy. The property was perfect for a Thanksgiving family getaway! The bedrooms were all very comfortable with wonderful mattresses, and spread out enough so that everyone had their own space if desired. The great room was perfect for gathering together to watch football, play cards, and relax by the fireplace. The kitchen was well appointed with coffee maker, plenty of plates/etc, and lots of seasonings to choose from for cooking. The speakeasy steals the show with the pool table, shuffleboard, arcade games, and big comfy couch for everyone to enjoy a movie - we spent a lot of time down there! The hot tub was amazing to relax in on the cold, wintery days - such a great amenitie! Communication with Brian was off the charts - super friendly, very responsive, and overall fabulous host. We will definitely look to come back again and enjoy everything that this property has to offer!

Our stay was to provide a short driving distance to Killington area golf courses for four adults wanting separate bedrooms and baths, and this property served all of our needs. The home was clean and appeared to provide everything needed to eat in, although we ate our meals out. The main areas (kitchen, dining area and living room) were very comfortable. The home, which is especially suited for families with children, boasts a LARGE bedroom suitable for six or more and a loaded game room. The owner was uber-responsive, so have confidence when you pick this for your stay. SP

A Beautiful Stay in a Beautiful State

Brian’s property was nothing short of amazing. Beginning from the perfectly staged bedrooms, and well stocked bathroom amenities and the open and prestine kitchen! Beds were the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on during a vacation. Bathrooms were well equipped with comfortable linens, hygiene supplies, and so clean I could see the reflection of the window on the floors. The attention to detail Brian and his Housekeeping put into this property is nothing short of meticulous. Though ski season is nearly over, we had tons of fun hiking, exploring southern Vermont, and enjoying company and conversation by his fire pit. I will only be booking this property for my stays in Vermont from now on!
