Thank you for your review. You have highlighted areas that imply changeover cleaning was not completed. I have contacted our Property Management Company and they are stunned as they definitely prepared the place for your visit. A welcome note with their contact details was left on the table but no communication was received from yourself at any stage to indicate you were experiencing issues. They respond and fix issues immediately. You have my contact details and I also was not contacted. Personally. if I pay for accommodation that has any of the implied issues, I contact the owners immediately to notify them of same. The house is not under-electrified and is quite safe. You will find that there is a limit to the voltage that EDF, the French electricity company, provide to any property in France. This is out of our control. As such, if a number of electric items are put on at the same time, the breaker trips. We have highlight this in our document/welcome pack so guests are aware not to put all electrics on at the same time. The electric kettle is working for the current guests, it has not been replaced. The shower head holder will be checked and replaced if necessary. The cooktop, you mean that one of the cooker hood light bulbs is not working rather than the electrics were short. We will look into this and repair/replace if needed. Washing machine stopped mid cycle. Did you have the Arret/Stop button selected? We will run a test on the machine Whereas ideally it would be nice if people didn’t take items from the house we have experienced same from our place in the past. Therefore every guest receives an itinerary both for their own benefit and for mine. This is common practice in places I have rented personally and you are the first guest to comment on same. And the itinerary casts a pall over your stay? We don’t have similar tastes in décor, not everyone likes Picasso either. I’m sorry my wooden cat doorstop upset you. Re your comment, itinerary sent at last minute. Your email requested all details to be sent to you by May 18th. I replied on May 16th with same. Thank you for the information re your previous work experience, peace is a precious thing. We always endeavour to ensure all of our guests have an enjoyable stay and appreciate constructive criticism, when justified. Considering the amount of apparent issues, it’s highly unusual you didn’t contact us. Had you have done so we would have done our utmost to rectify same immediately. Peace Man

I am sorry you feel you experienced an unpleasant stay, I always do my best to ensure guests have as nice a visit as possible. The washing machine does work. There is a button called Arrete/Stop, which if selected, does not spin clothes. However, we will get the property maintenance company to do a test run. The sink that got blocked up - once I was informed, it was resolved as promptly as possible. Thank you for trying to assist also. Sometimes it is impossible to know if something is causing a blockage until it happens. These things are checked at turnaround and there wasn’t a problem, but obviously there was a subsequent one, so apologies for the inconvenience. I will refund you for the Draino de-clogger and any time/cost you think necessary in assisting with same. As for the internet, there is broadband. The service over the last 2 months was not up to standard so we changed provider which, unfortunately did not transfer before your visit. For security reasons, we change the password on a regular basis and therefore instructions are emailed to guests rather than left in the property. I do apologise for this inconvenience. Its important to me you do have a nice stay when you visit so do let me know what I can do retrospectively to ensure your experience of the visit was not tarnished.

We appreciate your review and always welcome positive comments as well as constructive criticism. We did contact our cleaning provider and she is adamant that the place had been prepared and was clean for your arrival. We replied immediately to your email requesting more details however we did not receive a response until a week after your visit. The dryer is a separate unit that is located beside the washing machine. We do strive to ensure all guests have a fantastic stay in our place and are sorry you did not enjoy your visit. Many thanks for your kind words. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. Appreciate your point about the hairdryer, I hadn't thought of that so will look into replacing it! The shower hot water heater is small and we are restricted by what can be done under local law. However I will enquire to see if it can be changed. Looking forward to having you stay again! Many thanks for your review and comments. We always appreciate feedback The maximum voltage/ampage supplied by the electricity provider is 10A. If every appliance is on at the same, this can overload, therefore we mention this in our book to ensure visitors are aware of same. Unfortunately, Summer has taken its time to kick in all over Europe this year, and being a holiday home, the house would feel a little cold initially, however, there are heaters provided for this same reason. The water flow and shower has not been raised as an issue before therefore we appreciate this feedback. This will be tested and maintained to ensure everything works as it should for future guests.

Thank you for your comments. Many of the issues raised have been rectified and the cleaner has been informed of the concerns raised. Certain aspects are more features of the house. The spiral staircase is a standard spiral staircase which may find more of a challenge.
