Located in a hamlet 4 km from the sea, this cottage offers a peaceful place to stay. You will appreciate its large living room with open kitchen and its south-facing terrace. Its location is ideal for visiting the D-Day landing beaches, between the American cemetery and the artificial harbor of Arromanches. Many historical monuments are nearby (castles, abbeys, cathedrals ...) as well as several classified natural sites.
The cottage is classified 4 stars (out of 5) by decision of "Calvados tourisme" dated 4. 10. 2016

Spacious and comfortable house with discreet and helpful host - great for Bayeux and WW2

Well situated in quiet location for Bayeux and the Normandy Beaches. Very comfortable stay for the two of us. Well equipped - only slight issue is the kitchen could do with a new kettle equipped with an on-off switch.

Beautiful Gite in fantastic location

Beautiful and spacious house was big enough for our family of 5 adults. Had all the facilities we needed for our holiday. Great location close to coast and DDay sites and situated in very pretty countryside. Camille was a brilliant host- excellent and prompt communications in advance, and friendly and helpful once we arrived. Highly recommended!

Nice old house in the quiet countryside

It wasthe second time that we spent our summer holiday in this house. We enjoyed the silence, the space of the beautiful house, the kitchen and the large table which gave in the evening a nostalgic realm.

Excellect accommodations and location.

If you want to experience the french countryside, this is the location. It is a lovely accommodation and well stocked with everything you would need. My wife and I stayed for 3 nights end of September and if we were to return to Normandy, we would definitely stay here again. Even through you feel far removed, you're only minutes from the coast and the Utah, Omaha beaches and the Normandy American Cemetery.

Beautiful house near all the Normandy sights. Very quiet. Loved the free range chickens. They provided much entertainment. Only drawback was the undisclosed charge for linens and towels and the cleaning fee. I thinks this should have been disclosed on the property description page.

Normandy 2024

Property was lovely and clean, directions to property was not very clear, we found the road ok but no clear directions/signposting to the property, we drove around for half an hour, sought directions from the local campsite and very kind local man guided us there on his bicycle. Property was nice clean but to our tastes the decor was a bit dated .

Normany Tour

We used the base for touring the Normany area. The accommodation was Peacefu l and in lovely location. Ample space for a group of 3. Facilities were very good with excellent facilities for self catering Few areas that need improving though. Beds are extremely low and need to be upgraded. We felt The tv media systems need upgrading as well. We had a brilliant time here and Camille was very helpful. Just a few minor touches needed. catering

June holiday

Comfortable and spacious property with a well equip kitchen. Beds were very comfortable and plenty of storage and hangers. bathroom was adequate but small and hair dryers were good. However, as the weather was exceptionally warm the bedrooms were very warm being in the roof space ( as a converted barn ) and there was no aircon. or fans and keeping the windows open let the mosquitoes in. Overall we loved our stay. The gite was in a good location and we regularly went to Port en Bessin for groceries and fresh fish along with some very good evening restaurants.We also really need to feedback on the dreadful VRBO website where we have lost a deposit on a double booking that should not have happened due to a poor website : everyone be very vigilant when booking and paying. We received a message stating "This property is no longer available" when our payment had been taken. So we ended up booking another property. Despite calling VRBO customer service they fails to help resolve the issue.

Perfect place for the Normandy area and more

We could not have asked for a better place to spend our time while touring the Normandy beach area. My wife and I spent 5 amazing days there with our daughter, her husband, and our new granddaughter while traveling the beaches of the D-Day landings, and from the moment I booked until the day we left, our host was amazing. Camille, the owner stayed in communication the whole time, and when I told her my granddaughter would be with us, she set up a portable crib and had a baby chair for feeding. She even had a locally made cider bottle waiting for us in the fridge. The living area on the first floor is wide open and very comfortable to gather in, and the table and chairs on the patio made for wonderful evenings after our day of touring. The kitchen is well appointed for all you need to do, coffee maker, espresso pot, tea kettle, and ample pots, and pans for cooking. The location is within ten to fifteen minutes of just about everything you want to see if you desire to relive the history of D-Day, and the people in the area treasure American history more than most Americans do at this point. It was heartwarming to see the American, British, and Canadian flags being flown on almost every house in the area. The nearby town of "Port Au Bessin" is a great place to get groceries, and has some amazing restaurants on the water. My wife and I are already missing the quiet serenity of the area, and hope to return again

Een heel mooi en proper huisje. Contact met de host verliep zeer goed . We mochten de dag van aankomst zlefs vroeger inchecken en ivm uitchecken kwam mevr al de dag voordien eens kijken zo dat we de dag van vertrek op ons gemak waren.Alleen jammer dat de bbq er niet stond( door een storm begin dit jaar)en jammer dat je 's avonds niks van je gsm of ipad kan streamen naar de tv .Overal een uitstekend, mooi, propere en rustige vakantie gehad

Schoon ruim huis

De eigenaresse spreekt perfect Engels en is zeer vriendelijk. Je hebt lekker veel privacy en het huis was brandschoon (dat kun je helaas niet van alle Franse huizen zeggen). Er is alleen traag internet. Verder is er een wasmachine, droger, afwasmachine, inductiekookplaat, oven, koelkast met groot vriesvak en een magnetron. We verbleven er voor de derde keer en het was ons weer heel goed bevallen!

Geweldig vakantieverblijf

Het was voor onze de eerste keer in Normandie en dus was het afwachten hoe wij het zouden vinden. Het was in een woord fantastisch. Ons vakantieverblijf was geweldig in een prachtige omgeving. Schoon en alles was aanwezig. De eigenaresse was zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het was een onvergetelijke vakantie.

Superbe semaine

Belle propriété au calme, en pleine nature. De l'espace à l'intérieur comme à l'extérieur. Les propriétaires n'étaient pas présents mais nous avons été bien reçus par la voisine et rien ne manquait dans la maison. Nous y retournerons avec plaisir et allons recommander l'adresse à nos amis.
