The location and home was ideal. Inviting, warm, and well stocked with everything we needed. Lots of great information about the area located in a beautiful neighborhood with spacious lots and friendly neighbors. The owner was very responsive.

We had such a great stay!! There was not a dull moment!! So many different activities to do together. Our specially favorite was the karaoke machine!! Our teenagers truly enjoyed the loft with endless activities.

This place was perfect for two families going to Bear Valley for some ski racing this past weekend. Tons of beds and space. The kitchen was outfitted and the place was immaculate. We had so much fun there and a lot had to do with the comfortable and inviting space that Dave provided.

Wonderful house with fun for everyone. Games, karaoke, pool table. Thoughtful layout with comfortable beds and plenty of bathrooms for everyone. Many amenities like phone chargers, a computer to use and multiple TVs. Host was kind, informative and responsive. Close to skiing and outdoor activities. Would stay there again!

My family and I have been visiting Big Trees Village for years. My wife’s grandparents built a cabin here in 1980 in which they lived and vacationed for over 20 years. Big Trees has a special place in our hearts and we try to come back with our family every few years to reminisce and create new memories.Dave’s Den had everything our family needed. We were able to share meals at the large dining table and deck tables each night, play pool and games together in the loft, stay up watching TV together in the comfortable living area, and sleep soundly on the very comfortable beds. Dave thought of everything, including WiFi and a computer, TVs with streaming services in each room, BTV recreation center passes, pool towels, and loads of sports equipment to enjoy outdoors as well. He was very responsive to our questions and accommodating to our specific needs. (Thanks!)This was the perfect family cabin in a great location in Big Trees Village! We will be back!

Great spacious cabin in a very quiet area. The extras made it special, from the provided equipment which made it special for my daughter playing in the front, to the drum set that my boys could not stop playing, this was a cool experience. We were minutes from tall trees state park which made a great day trip and then hanging out playing games with the family at the cabin, everything was perfect. Property was clean and comfortable, made for a great getaway for the weekend. The host was very accommodating and helpful with everything we needed. We can’t wait to visit again!

Had to cancel due to a big storm that closed the roads and made travel too dangerous in the Sierra but the host was exceptional! We were in frequent communication and he really had our safety and best interest in mind. We rescheduled the trip and the family is anxious to enjoy the time at the property in the near future.

The storm was bad, it shut down power in the region for 5 days. There was downed trees. The roads were closed two days into the guest stay, so they could not access the cabin. I also could not get cleaners in there. The local roads where not plowed. There was at least 5 feet of snow. I communicated early on to the guest that there was an oncoming storm and had clear communication on the status, and at one point decided mutually to cancel. I am happy the guest rebooked. Note the cabin did have power because of the generator. In the end it worked out and the guest rebooked. I thank Michael for the positive review in a difficult situation.

This cabin exceeded my expectations. Very comfortable, warm and inviting. It has everything for everyone. Big enough for a large group. The host was very kind and receptive. I’d recommend this cabin who’d like a great experience in the foothills.

Four of us (all adults) stayed, and had a wonderful time! The place was clean and comfortably set up for guests. We were greeted with a bottle of wine and cookies. The place is very well-stocked with coffee, snacks, and condiments in the fridge. The upstairs loft is a huge game room and a great place for kids to hang out. David was easy to communicate with, and very responsive. Thank you David for your hospitality. We’ll be back!

Absolutely loved our stay. Communication with Dave was great from booking through check out. Traveled with family and we were so pleased with all of the amenities. Dave truly thinks of everything from the well stocked kitchen to the loft filled with entertainment. Highly recommend!

Great time

We had a nice time in this property. Weather was very nice even though it was peak summer. The property is surrounded by trees and that helped to stay cool in the night. Lot of games to play in the house, community swimming pool and outdoor games nearby.

The host David is great! Lots of communication to make sure we had everything we needed and very quick to respond to any questions or concerns we had. The Den was clean, warm, inviting, and most importantly relaxing. I can't praise this host and location enough. Everything for our extended family visit was great. Don't hesitate to book this one! We stayed over Thanksgiving week 2025 and were able to easily cook up Thanksgiving dinner in the well stocked kitchen. We will definitely be back.

This cabin felt like home, only better! It was very comfortable and spacious. The kitchen had a great stock of all the necessary items to cook full meals. My boys loved the provided snacks as well! We stayed over Christmas and Dave made sure to have lights on the deck railing to spread Christmas cheer the moment we pulled into the driveway. I was concerned about my son driving up alone and he assured me by sending step by step directions. He also checked in on us via text when weather was a concern. Overall, it was a very nice cabin and I would highly recommend!

Wonderful family vacation!

We had a wonderful time playing games, hanging out, fishing hiking, using the pool. Highly recommend Dave’s Den. Dave was extremely helpful prior to and during our stay. He was quick to respond to any questions or concerns we had and made everything just right. He really does want his guest to feel welcome and have a nice time. We will be back!
