The cabin is surrounded by Water Company and State Forest land. Lots of birds, squirrels, owls and deer.
The hiking trails are walking distance from the cabin and located in Cockaponset State Forest = 788 acres to explore. The trails are well marked and family friendly. The cabin is a true log home construction with an open floor plan with a beautiful native stone fireplace. Peaceful open space areas surrounded by forest with many flower gardens to admire. Relax on the front porch with a cup of coffee or your favorite beverage and listen to the sounds of nature.
Enjoy making memories by the fire pit telling campfire stories, reading a book or, making s’mores and roasting hotdogs. We provide all of the firewood and fire starters to enjoy the fire pit. A pizza oven and gas grill are available as well. RELAX at the cabin or hit the road to visit many local attractions. The cabin is a short drive to the shoreline where you can enjoy Hammonasset Beach State Park and all of the great beaches as well as awesome seafood restaurant’s and local breweries.. Chatfield Hollow State Park is a shorter drive and a great place to hike, fish, cookout and enjoy the lake. And for the professional shoppers, Clinton Crossing Premium Outlets is a short drive as well. Try your luck at Mohegan Sun or Foxwoods Casino, less than an hour drive. New Haven- the “Pizza Capital” is less than an hour’s drive and you can tell your friends and family that you’ve tried the best pizza in the USA!

The cabin is equipped with an alarm-monitoring system that alerts the fire department when smoke or fire is detected inside the cabin and alerts the state police in the event of an unauthorized entry. This property also features 5 exterior security cameras: 2 cameras are in the front of the house, one facing the front walkway and one facing the driveway-parking area. 2 cameras are in the back of the cabin, one facing the back exterior driveway-garage and one facing the shed-barn. 1 camera is on the side of cabin facing the side entrance to the kitchen. The cameras are outward facing and do not look into interior spaces.
