It is easy to leave your troubles behind when your are staying at our family's condo. Located near the west end of the Fort Morgan Peninsular you can enjoy sunrises and sunsets from the balcony, watch ships entering and leaving Mobile Bay and the beach is only a short 200 yard walk away. You will love taking long walks on our uncrowded beaches, enjoy swimming in our indoor/outdoor pool and relaxing in the indoor hot tub. The condo is located in a gated community and our key less entry system allows you to have a personal entry code which is not shared with other guests.
This tastefully decorated condo sleeps 8 comfortably. The master bedroom features a king size bed, the second bedroom also has a king size bed and the third bedroom has a set of twin beds. One of the 2 sofas is a queen sleeper. All bedrooms have flat screen TV's and DVD players. There are 2 full bathrooms and one half bath - all with granite counter tops.
The fully equipped kitchen has stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops. A full size dining room table easily seats 8 and there is additional seating for 4 on the stools at the kitchen bar.
There are 2 full size sofas in the den providing comfortable seating for all. The unit has high speed WiFi and free local and continental long distance calling. We have a key less entry system which allows us to give you your own personal code. No using the same code that previous guests have used.
The calm, relaxing colors of the condo only enhance the beauty that you see once you step out on one of the two balconies. Atop a dune at the doorstep of Fort Morgan, you will find that our end of the beach is quiet and secluded. More than a mile of pristine, unpopulated beach awaits you.
Golf Courses, Outlet Shopping, Ferry to Dauphin Island, Gulf Shores Zoo, Charter Boats, Ft Morgan, (cannons and museum), Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge, (Bird Watching), Mobile street,(alligator watching) , Amusement Parks are only a few of the many activities/attractions of our area. All that you would expect and need for your coastal vacation! Come join us for a few days or for an extended stay.

Highly recommend this condo/owner

The condo is beautifully decorated and comfortabe. The balconies both had beautiful views. Communicaton with owner easy and they answered any questions I had prior to arriving. We will definitely be coming back to stay. I can't recommend this condo and owner enough.

Quiet getaway

Loved our stay. Charlotte was very responsive and easy to communicate with. The condo is about a 5 minute walk to the beach with no busy roads to cross. Loved this location because itā€™s towards the end of the peninsula next to the wildlife refuge.

Fort Morgan Condo

The area is beautiful and quiet. It is about 20 minutes from a lot of restaurants and shopping but the beaches are nice and not crowded. We had an issue with the door lock but Ashley and Charlotte were easy to reach and the issue was taken care of almost immediately.

Fantastic condo!

We absolutely loved our stay at The Dunes! Our priorities were cleanliness and being away from the crowds, and this condo delivered on both. It is a 5-minute walk to the beach, and the views from both balconies are spectacular! We cooked every night, and the beds are very comfortable. Charlotte was a pleasure to work with and made the whole process very easy. We would love to stay here again!

Dunes Ft. Morgan

We have been spending February in Ft. Morgan for about 6 years. We have stayed at either The Indies or the Dunes. This is the nicest unit weā€™ve stayed at either building. We have decided to return in 2025. We would highly recommend.

Nice family space, clean, great views!

Condo was in great shape, plenty of room for our family of six. Charlotte was very responsive to any questions, and even let us know we could show up early if our schedule worked out. A few hiccups with the pool and whirlpool, but they were working on it. Beach was beautiful, just a short walk away. Nice and quiet location. great family time.

Great Condo! We enjoyed out stay.

We were there for a week. Our only wish is that it could have been a longer. The owners were great to work with and were very responsive to e-mails and calls. They're the best. The condo was clean and neat. It certainly met our expectations. The pictures and description are very accurate. The area is very quiet which was what we wanted. Beach access is good and the beach was not crowded at all. I would definitely recommend this condo to a friend. We enjoyed our stay and we're sure you will too.

Great vaca for a family

Fort Morgan is off the beaten path. You donā€™t have to worry about crowds. Just go to the beach or pool and relax. The Fort itself is pretty neat. Took the ferry across to Daulphin island. There isnā€™t much to do besides the aquarium. The condo itself is perfect. Owner was great. Pool was clean. We cooked most of our meals in the condo and they had all of the utensils we needed. Donā€™t forget your seasonings. Food on the island is expensive. If you are looking to relax this is the perfect condo and location to do it.

Ok place. It was close to the beach. Property is 20 miles from town.

The property was nice and very close to the beach. However it was 20 miles from town. The only 2 restaurants nearby were always packed and because so they would stop to go orders. Make sure that you stock up on gas and supplies before heading out this way. Also the ferry was very unreliable while we were there. Make sure to check schedule (which we did and still had a note on window it closed early). Overall, it was nice but more for someone who wants to hang out at the beach and not see sights .

Great location for a quiet vacation

This gated community is at the edge of Gulf Shores, so the beach is very quiet and perfect for a relaxing vacation. Charlotte sent a list of necessities to bring, like toilet paper and paper towels. There was one dishwasher packet, a sample bottle of dish soap, one roll toilet paper per bathroom, and a small roll of paper towels when we arrived. You will want to buy some more of each if you are staying for the week, but it helps me to know what is already there. You will need hand soap for the bathrooms as well. The kitchen had lots of plates and cutlery and plenty of pots, pans, bowls, etc. for cooking. Plenty of seating in both the couches and tables. The indoor pool and hot tub were closed, but they opened the outdoor pool in time for spring breakers. It was a short walk to the beach. Charlotte was extremely responsive to any questions or concerns.

Wouldn't hesitate to stay again

Nice, clean condo with great communication. I was a little confused when we arrived as to where and how I was to get to room. (I was way over complicating the process). I called the property owner and she explained what I needed to do. Condo was clean, beds were comfortable, towels were plenty, kitchen was fully stocked with EVERYTHING you would need from a vegetable peeler to a pizza cutter, crock pots and a griddle. View was spectacular, noise was low and condo security guy became our buddy - he even hooked us up with boogie boards that someone had left. Notable things: Definitely bring groceries on your way in. Traveling back to the strip in GS takes about 30 min with brain bending traffic and there are almost no restaurants in Fort Morgan. Pool closes at 8pm. Bring toilet paper March 2023 they just started outside renovation so cranes and construction workers are taking up half the parking lot and start making LOTS of noise at about 8am - but this is not the fault of anyone - it's a necessary evil, just notable and will obviously soon be renovated. Safe, clean, walking distance to beach and FUN! Would stay again.

Family/Girls Trip

We stayed in Fort Morgan from March 21-28 with 5 adults and 2 children (3 and 5). The unit was comfortable for this amount of people. The best part of the unit was the view. The pics do not do it justice. Although itā€™s not right on the beach, the unit is on the 5th floor and there is a great panoramic view of the ocean. The only obstructions to the view are beautiful, beach front homes. The building is a short walk to the beach and has an unremarkable pool and very small workout room (bike, treadmill, elliptical and cable system). The building has a very residential feel. The unit seems to have been updated recently (nice appliances, newer furniture) but could use a deep cleaning (built up dirt in the corners of the floor, dirty ceiling fans, dirty area rug, etc.) and the outdoor furniture needs to be replaced. It is rusted and oversized for the space. The other annoying thing about the unit is it only includes free parking for one car, which is not clear in the listing or in the pre arrival instructions. We had to pay $40 to park a second car on the lot that wasnā€™t even half full. Overall, the unit was probably a bit overpriced but we booked relatively last minute and didnā€™t have a lot of choices. I would recommend the area if you donā€™t want to stay in the craziness of Gulf Shores.

Relaxing Family Getaway by the Gulf

Wish we could have stayed here an entire week! Everything went smoothly, never had to contact the owner for anything. The beach and pool are each only a few minutes from the comfortable and well-appointed condo. Views were fantastic and we loved relaxing on the balconies, especially in the evenings. We went into town once and realized we were very happy to be in a quieter section of the Gulf Shores area. We even walked down the beach to the end of the peninsula one day and were the only foot prints around....so cool. Well it was actually a very long walk in the heat but an interesting experience exploring the shoreline. This is a great place for relaxing and spending quality time with family or friends. Highly recommend!

A beautiful place in an amazing location

This place was great! Very spacious, clean, comfortable, and beautiful views. This condo is in a very secluded location, so itā€™s no too crowded. It feels like a neighborhood instead of a complex. Everyone was very friendly. We had an issue with the refrigerator and Charlotte was very quick to respond, and was very helpful and kind. We would love to come back to this spaceā€¦ highly recommended.

Nice getaway

I was happy with the condo! I think it looked great and was comfortable for my husband, myself and kids. Little walk to the beach, but wasnā€™t bad (5-10 minutes). It is far from most restaurants (30 minutes) and I didnā€™t realize that. But it wasnā€™t a huge deal. I would stay again!

Great Place!

It had everything one would want in a place that isn't right on the beach. The two balconies are great and the view of the gulf is very nice. Plenty of room for a family of 5. It was great being out of the way. 10/10 would recommend!

Charlotte's father bought Dunes 500 in May 2011 both as a rental investment and for his 3 children and their families to enjoy. After his death in 2016 Charlotte kept the condo as a way to preserve her parent's wish to have a "place" where the family could enjoy family times and make wonderful memories. We hope that our "place" will provide other families with an opportunity to enjoy time together and make their own memories.

Fort Morgan offers so much that we enjoy - a laid back get away from it all location, great fishing, uncrowded beaches which offer the opportunity to take long walks, gorgeous sunset rises and sunsets, and at certain times unbelievable moon rises. It is truly nature at its best.

We are not a rental company. This is our family's condo and you are dealing directly with our family. We only charge rent (which includes 1 parking pass), cleaning fees and state and local taxes.. VRBO charges a separate fee for you to book through them.
We make special efforts to accommodate the needs of our guests. When possible we offer early check in or late check out. We have been self managing Dunes #500 since 2012 and have premier status with VRBO.
