Welcome to Hells Branch Hideaway—a secluded cabin nestled hilltop among the trees at Apple Canyon Lake. A private wooded path leads to a charming creek, scenic lake, and a 13-mile trail that connects directly to a beautiful nature preserve. Along the way, you'll find signs identifying native plants, wildlife, and lake ecology—perfect for curious explorers and peaceful strolls.

Inside, you'll find two stunning wood-burning fireplaces with grand stonework that runs from the basement floor to the very rooftop of this A-frame cabin—adding rustic charm and warmth throughout. With 4 bedrooms and a loft (2 king, 2 queen, 4 full including a memory foam sleeper sofa, and 1 twin), there's plenty of room to spread out and relax. TVs with Roku are available and Wi-Fi is provided.

The game room is packed with fun: ping pong, air hockey, foosball, darts, puzzles, cards, and board games. Outside, gather around the firepit for s’mores under the stars, play yard games, or explore the trail to the creek and lake. Guests often mention magical firefly-lit nights and the occasional sight or sound of a pair of owls that swoop through the treetops and visit us frequently. Don’t miss the breathtaking sunsets over the lake—perfect for winding down the day with a sense of wonder.

Enjoy access to Apple Canyon Lake amenities including the beach, pool, marina, outdoor sports courts (basketball, pickleball, tennis), golf course, and pro shop. Families will love the children’s garden, scenic lookout point (climbing tower), and lakeside and poolside pavilions perfect for picnic lunches or relaxing in the shade. Inquire about the pontoon rentals available through the community (preauthorization is required). Pool and beach hours are determined by Apple Canyon Lake.

Located near Galena, Apple River, Scales Mound, Stockton, and Elizabeth, this retreat is close to charming towns, local attractions, and Apple River Canyon State Park—yet feels worlds away.
