Gorgeous Lake views! Sun streams through windows all day long in this bright airy contemporary lakefront home and newly constructed guesthouse! Main house has 4 Bedrooms and an open loft (SEE BELOW FOR BED LAYOUT). In addition, there are 4 full bathrooms plus two outdoor showers! Dramatic double height living room with large fireplace opens onto large outdoor deck that leads to the lake. Gas grill.

Guesthouse has living room that doubles as a bedroom (with full bathroom) and separate upstairs bedroom suite with full bathroom. The house features a bar area with small fridge, microwave and bar sink, as well as an outdoor patio. Both houses are fully air-conditioned. Summer activities include:

Tennis: Private tennis court on property with racquets and balls. Boat, fish, swim and hike. Wonderful dock on lake with raft. Near several scenic golf courses. Five minutes from Copake Lake and motor boating. Within 30 minutes of the Berkshires where summer arts festivals abound. Near skiing (15 minutes), sledding, snowshoeing and ice skating in the winter. Fabulous top rated restaurants within 10-20 minutes. Beautiful! Perfect for a family vacation, reunion or 2 families sharing.

Full Gym: Shared gym on property with treadmill, elliptical machines, free weights, weight machine and yoga/stretching area.

Located on peaceful Upper Rhoda Lake (2 acre lake) in a serene and quiet neighborhood. Non-motor boating allowed. The area enjoys the quiet serenity of a wilderness retreat.

This property was excellent for our needs. It housed 7 adults and 2 children comfortably. The dining table was large enough to accommodate large holiday meals and seat 9 with ease. The gym was equipped to meet our needs. The ping pong table in the basement was a highlight. The fire place is well designed and efficient, providing heat as well as attracting everyone to the spacious and comfy living area. The property manager was responsive and available by text (to help find a TVremote, ping pong paddles, shoveled the driveway daily). The house is warm in winter and there is a thermostat in most every room. Details include ample electrical plugs at convenient locations, bedside reading lights...high ceilings with many floor to ceiling windows...bedrooms have sliding doors that face the lake. The moon over the huge pond is spectacular.The house is dated in an overall charming sort of way, it has quirks. For example, when you shower in the master bath, there is a rumble, the floor shakes, sulfur smell, but that goes away after the shower. This property is fun... tennis/basketball court, gym, ping pong, long beautiful driveway/isolated, acres of land, multiple sliding doors that open to wooden decks that lead to the lake. Price point could be 3-400 lower...It's not fancy linens and it has quirks...but it's warm, cozy, safe feeling, perfect for extended families.

House is as described. Very clean and keyless entry so check in went smoothly. Dock is very nice but as other reviews stated you won’t be able to swim from the dock, there is a lot of algae at the edge. We had a large party and house size was very nice. The kitchen was a bit small for our size group but had everything you could want, quite well stocked. Overall house pictures were very accurate. Tennis court and gym were nice to have. We enjoyed are week very much.

Another enjoyable stay

We had another enjoyable stay at this property. Accommodations were comfortable, and the families enjoyed the boats, kayaks and rowboat, fishing, exploring the lake, and swimming from the dock. The tennis court was again a great feature. I spent much time sitting overlooking the lake reading, and only left the property one day to visit a nearby sculpture park!

Family Reunion

We used this house as well as 2 other homes in the neighborhood to meet for a family reunion. All the houses were clean and in close proximity to each other and the pond. The guest house for this property was a game changer, great size and space. The house had beautiful views of the lake and was clean! The room with the loft does not have AC, so that was tough because it was very warm in there.

This was a very spacious property with beautiful views and a particularly nice living room in the main house, but there are fewer bedrooms than listed. The main house has two bedrooms on the first floor and two bedrooms on the second floor. The bedrooms on the second floor have beds that are extremely old and uncomfortable. The upstairs bathroom has a shower that leaks water and a bathroom that stays very cold. The thermostats all over the property were difficult to control, and most of the bedrooms were too hot. The pullout couch on the second floor had all kinds of outdoor debris and like acorns- so the kids didn’t want to sleep on it. It was also very old and uncomfortable. The king size bed on the first floor was very comfortable, which was nice. The kitchen is actually quite small and the dishwasher is very finicky- our dishes were not that clean and needed to be dried. The guest house which is separate from the main house is much more updated and beautiful. Unfortunately, the bedroom on the second floor over there was like a sauna. Even setting the thermostat way down did not seem to work.

A wild mix-up with a good outcome

I'll start with the good outcome: my family of 7 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this comfortable, sprawling home. Gracious common areas and nice private sleeping quarters. Ping pong and tennis courts. Wood burning fireplace. The kitchen and dining area were a little cramped but it worked. The weirdest part was the mix-up. Somehow our GPS sent us to the wrong house. Coincidentally, the keypad wasn't working so we were none the wiser when we unlocked the door. Around 7pm as we were finishing the dinner we'd prepared after unpacking, the host appeared at the door and informed us of our error. It was NO fun to move house just as we were settling in for the night, but the mistake was entirely ours. (Plus the rightful tenants were on their way.) Once we had resettled in the correct house, we had a blast. Made a funny Thanksgiving story.

Beautiful Lake

We stayed here with our extended family. The property was beautiful in fall and was a great layout for multiple families getting together. There was plenty of separated sleeping spaces and a large common seating area. It was exactly what we were hoping for.

Beautiful location on Upper Rhoda Pond

The house and guest house were perfect for our group of 10 adults. It was roomy and comfortable. The location on the pond is fantastic, with lots of outside seating and a beautiful view. Some of us enjoyed the kayaking and swimming while others used the tennis court. The table tennis was also fun. Highly recommended!

Beautiful Labor Day Weekend

We rented this property for my husband’s whole family to get together and enjoy the end of the summer. We had 8 adults and a 2 year old, and the property was the perfect gathering spot for us all. The separate guest house was great for our niece to have a quiet place for her nap. We loved boating and swimming on the lake, and the property looked magical with the outdoor lights at night. I would highly recommend this property.

Very well stocked with tons of bathrooms!

Great property. Well stocked, and it's truly amazing how many full bathrooms and showers they were able to fit in this place. The fact that there are two separate houses lends a lot of flexibility to how you can split up people in a large group. Everything is as advertised, with a couple caveats: 1. The listing claims there are two king beds, but there is only one. The other beds are accurate. There are some spacious couches, and we found a cot in one of the closets, so it wasn't a problem for our group. 2. Kayaking and swimming in the pond was great, but I would warn you that it is very murky/weedy by the shore, so you will definitely want to ride a kayak out to one of the floating platforms in the center before swimming. Beware that these platforms were completely covered in goose poop when we were there! 3. The grill worked well, and has a gas line directly from the house, so you shouldn't worry about running out of gas. The ignition was broken, but we were able to just use a lighter to start it. The kitchen stove is also gas and worked well. 4. The kitchen is well stocked, but the only can opener was broken. Other than that, it was perfect! Our highlights were kayaking in the day and gathering around the outdoor fire pit at night. We had a group of 14 people and were very comfortable in a 3 night stay, although we brought 2 air mattresses of our own. I would say 12 people is about the max I would recommend for this property.

Great Getaway

Our family was looking for the perfect place to gather to celebrate our mother’s birthday. This property was a home run! It was large enough for our group and had great spaces to entertain, both inside and out. The hostess was quick to respond with any questions we had. The location was also great, being close to Hudson, NY as well as the Berkshires, just over the border. I would definitely rent this home again

House on Upper Rhoda Pond

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The house and guest house left plenty of room to spread out, and the property was ideal, isolated from neighboring properties. Loved having a tennis court, which was used daily. The kids swam off of the dock and also enjoyed the fishing which resulted in numerous fish caught each time we ventured out to fish. The deck was used daily for meals and the sitting area nearer to the dock was frequently utilized. Overall, a very enjoyable experience!

Great house on quiet pond in perfect location

We really enjoyed our time in Copake. There was so much room for all our family. The layout was great with lots of natural lighting. The property is huge and the tennis court and kayaks were used every day. The location is perfect, between the Hudson Valley and the Berkshires, so we enjoyed both. Jenifer was a big help answering questions. No complaints and we would visit here again for sure.

Perfect for groups!

We have four families that go away to different places every year and this was the best house so far! Plenty of room for all of us, quiet, and lots to do on the property. The only issue we had was wifi in the guest house but the host was very easy to contact and even came to the house to help restore it. It was a great stay!

Family Reunion

My only regret is that we could not stay longer at the house to enjoy the local l hiking and just sit and enjoy the view of the pond. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had every utensil, bowls, plates, etc for the 11 of us. I would rent this house again.

Almost great

First of all, the place haas great curb appeal. A big main house and guest house are revealed after a quaint dirt lane. Can't beat it. There was plenty of room (as promised) and the whole experience was quite serene and relaxing, the kind of place you don't really want to leave. However, there were some cons too. One, the description states a shared gym but "private tennis courts." That's not true. Tennis is shared. It also states a "lakeside" property. It's not a lake. It's a pond. As it turns out, the tennis wasn't a problem as no one else tried to use it when we wanted to play, but it should be noted that the tennis court was the primary reason we chose this rental and, had we known it was shared ahead of time, we would have made a different choice. The pond was nice except for the "scum" that you have to boat through to swim further out. That was known to us before hand, but it's more shocking up close and personal. As others have noted, only the master bedroom (king) has a comfortable bed. Master bath had rust all over the shower-head and towel holder, which was unfortunate. Also all the water smelled like sulfer, which is easy to mitigate and I wish they would have. The only other con was the communication with the property manager, who was only somewhat responsive once we actually signed her rather lengthy and overzealous contract. Previous to that, she almost never responded. It was a good trip, but could have been great if the above was addressed.

We love the views, light and the beauty of the house. The fireplace is very special. The property itself is large and gorgeously landscaped. We even have a vegetable garden which during the season will have vegetables and herbs for the picking! Tennis court along with a basketball hoop
