This spacious and sun kissed penthouse is the perfect home away from home. Our building is one the most historic Victorians right in the heart of downtown. It is also the most photographed building in downtown Pacific Grove which we also call 'America's Last Home Town.' This charming penthouse has great views of downtown and the Monterey Bay. This is a completely furnished unit decorated in victorian charm and comforts of home with two (2) bedrooms and one (1) bath. This unit is perfect for up to four (4) guests. There is 24 hour off site parking. There is also a brand new custom kitchen beautifully decorated. The bathroom spacious and clean. There is also a washer and dryer available for your washing. Come enjoy breakfast downstairs before walking through the beautiful downtown area for great shopping, two short blocks to the ocean, next door to our movie theatre, and 1 mile to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. This unit is first class and very clean. Even though you are right in the downtown area, this unit is very quiet. Guests have said that it is more quiet than staying along the ocean drive.

This unit has beautiful hand scraped teak hardwood floors, high ceilings and is tastefully decorated. Curl up on the couch in the front bay window with a good book and enjoy looking at our downtown in action.

It is an easy 2 block walk to Lover's Point and the breathtaking regional trail that winds along the Monterey Bay. You can walk south around the Asilomar State Beach or north to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Cannery Row & Fisherman's Wharf. Don't forget to visit our beautiful Point Pinos Lighthouse.

Hop in your car and you can drive to Pebble Beach (17 Mile Dr.). It is only 5 minutes away, 10 minutes to downtown Carmel, 20 minutes to Carmel Valley and 45 minutes to Big Sur.

The Victorian Penthouse exceeded our expectations in every way. The 3 bedroom unit is spacious and the interior has been recently modernised, yet the updated decor respects the historic nature of the building. While Lighthouse Avenue is a main commercial street in Pacific Grove (offering many restaurants and boutique shops), it gets quite quiet after about 9:30 pm (to the point where deer roam the street) including on the weekend we stayed. Noise from the restaurant below was negligible, with the loudest noise being soft conversations from the sidewalk cafe filtered through open windows. The kitchen has all the amenities you need, although we just made coffee there since breakfast in the restaurant below is so tasty. Dominic and Mary are friendly and responsive hosts. They are usually on the property as they also manage the restaurant. If we get back to the Monterey Bay Area, we will definitely stay at the Victorian Penthouse again!

Mary’s apartment's was great. It’s a full three bedroom [though local law requires it to be listed as a two]. Apartment was fully stocked; very comfortable and very clean. There is an eat-in kitchen and lovely Victorian living room.Pacific Grove is a cute town—with good restaurants and a fine coffee shop a block away.Very convenient to Carmel and Big Sur.Though not at all an issue for us, I should note that there is a twenty step internal entrance stairway.

Great location and really lovely painted lady

Clean, comfortable victorian apartment with all the amenities in the heart of Pacific Grove. Large, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. Mary was a gracious hostess and she made it easy for us to really enjoy the place. Look forward to staying again.

Wonderful clean property in a fantastic location. Mary was a friendly responsive host and everything was as pictured and comfortable. The family restaurant below serves a delicious breakfast and the surrounding neighborhood, restaurants, and shops are in a safe cute area . Easy walk to the beautiful coastal trail that takes you right to Monterey.

Wonderful Place- Beautiful town

I had visited Monterey years ago on a business trip and enjoyed it so much that I wanted to share the experience with my family—and I’m glad I did. The house is beautiful and fully equipped for a comfortable stay. The hosts are wonderful: responsive, friendly, and incredibly helpful.Since they own and operate the restaurant downstairs, we not only enjoyed delicious meals but also received excellent local recommendations for things to see and do. I highly recommend this rental to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway with a mellow climate, welcoming people, and a chance to truly unplug.Before you go, brush up on John Steinbeck- a native of the area. His novel Cannery Row offers a quirky glimpse into the area’s past during the heyday of commercial sardine fishing. I read it while visiting, and it added a fun and interesting perspective in now the area has evolved over the years.

Beautiful Pacific Grove Apartment

Mary's apartment was ideally located in the heart of downtown Pacific Grove, just a short walk from the ocean and a number of great restaurants. The apartment was extremely clean and very well appointed. Mary was readily available and attentive. We hope to return sometime soon.

Charming Property in the Heart of Pacific Grove

I have always loved this area of the Pacific Coast and when my spouse and friends were coming back for the Big Sur International races, I was very excited to find this gem of a property in downtown Pacific Grove. Check-in and out were perhaps the easiest in my 20 years of using VRBO. Parking was a breeze with 3 HR available out front and a free parking lot ajacent. All 3 rooms are very comfortable and have ceiling fans. When needed, the wall heaters in the bathroom and lounge made us very cozy. The kitchen was nicely equipped with coffee pods and all the appliances you could need (blender, toaster, etc.). What made this stay most special are the people. Mary was a generous host with her wonderful restaurant right under the property, and she even arranged with the kitchen to have coffee for us early on our first morning, and she shared tips on parking on favorite places in PG. Her kindness was not unique, in fact every single restaurant, grocery store, pub, brewery we walked to had some of the nicest people who were very engaging and legitimately interested in what brought us for a visit and even how our races went. The location is even walkable to Cannary Row, I would recommend along the water, if you don't mind a 1.8 mile stroll. Places we tried out and recommend: La Mia Cucina, The Monarch, PG Meetinghouse, Mary's restaurant Aliotti's (breakfast and dinner), Grove Market, Hops & Fog. We will be back. Thank you to Mary for a lovely stay.

Lovely home in a perfect spot

I was in town for a long weekend. The house was cozy, comfortable and well provisioned. It’s close to everything and the restaurant below was just as welcoming with delicious breakfast and dinner.

Pacific Grove charm

Exceeded expectations! Loved the charm of the space and furnishings. Grateful for the fully tooled kitchen which allowed us to prepare our side dish for our family Thanksgiving dinner. Great restaurants nearby and fun shops. Walking distance from the ocean. Really enjoyed our visit!!

Wonderful Stay

Mary's place was wonderful and perfect for a long weekend around Monterey. Located above a little restaurant (which we had a lovely brunch at), it is right in the middle of a downtown strip. Close to the aquarium and parking was relatively easy (there is a 24 hour lot next door - though don't confuse it with the short term lot it's connected to). The rental was clean and well taken care of and we all found it super charming. Thanks, Mary!

A Gem in Pacific Grove

Let me first give a resounding positive review on this gem of a place to stay in PG. The unit is even cuter in person. It was well appointed, clean, and comfortable. It is also convenient walking distance to most of what PG has to offer including shops, restaurants, and even the coast. Should we ever need to return to the area I would love to stay again. That being said, and in the spirit of a thorough review, the biggest challenge was that the (probably original) single pane windows do nothing to block out the noise. And the noise really doesn’t come from any of the restaurants, but the shockingly loud sea gulls and the trash collectors/street cleaners (on certain days). I had to use my ear plugs after the first night of poor sleep. I wouldn’t let it deter you, just come prepared.

We came for a weekend from SF to explore the area and drive to Big Sur. It was a great place to stay! Comfortable beds, centrally located on a fun street with cute stores, restaurants and coffee shops. Short walk to beach which was beautiful at sunset!

This apartment is cozy, beautiful and spotless clean. It is within walking distance to many shops, restaurants and a market. The kitchen is stunning and well equipped. The owners also own the restaurant downstairs which has delicious, beautifully presented food, and it couldn't be more convenient. I would recommend it and stay there again in a heartbeat.

We have owned this beautiful downtown Victorian since 2000. This building was built in 1893 and kept up with tender loving care. It is considered one of the most beautiful buildings in Pacific Grove. We own and operate our restaurant Victorian Corner which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. We enjoy visiting with our locals and also meeting new people from all over the world. We have two children that keep up very busy as well.
