A Mystic Stay as Sweet as Apple Pie!
The Cordage Suite is a super charming retreat! With a dreamy queen bed~ you’ll find it so comfy you won’t want to leave! A twin-day bed, ensuite bath, and a private entrance provide additional separation and privacy. You’ll experience something special when you stay at the 1807 Williams Home property~ enjoy Mystic Seaport's history right in your room! Relax by the fire pit under the stars! Walk or bike on the scenic River Rd around the corner! Let us treat you to pure, homegrown hospitality!
My husband and I live in Mystic- a short 5-minute drive from Cordage Guest Room at the 1807 Williams Home property. Even though you are set up for self-check-in, you may see one of us stop by to water outside plants or bring the garbage cans out to the street if you stay over on a Wednesday night. If you seek answers, would like suggestions, or even meet us, we are here for you and delight in sharing this lovely little village with visitors! You can reach us by phone or text anytime. We are available to help make your stay a perfect one!
Built by the relatives of one of the original families who settled on the east side of Mystic River, the 1807 Williams Home property oozes with history and character! Located in the original colonial settlement of Mystic or Head O' the River, the Smith Cottage at the 1807 Williams Home property is a short ride- 3 miles to sightseeing and Mystic eateries.
Do you desire a day to relax after traveling? Grab a tasty lunch to go from Mystic Market and one of our picnic baskets and head to Coogan Farm for a picnic.
If you enjoy walking, jogging, or biking as part of your get-away, the scenic River Road is just around the corner across the little bridge.
Ready to go out and explore? Spend a day at the Mystic Seaport Museum and immerse yourself in maritime history. See the ships and buildings that inspired our room names at the 1807 Williams Home and 1784 Denison Home & Carriage House next door.
Spend a day exploring the Mystic Aquarium and make a date with one of the Beluga Whales.
Are you craving a beach day? Pack one of our beach bags and towels and head to a local beach or one of Rhode Island's beaches- easily accessible with a 15-minute drive.
Venture out to one of the wineries or breweries for an afternoon sip and taste.
Do you crave a bit of nature during your Mystic stay? Walk one of the many scenic farms nearby.

Several last-of-its-kind treasures call Mystic their home.
The Mystic Seaport Museum is a must-see while you are here! The 1807 Williams Home rooms are named after maritime trades. The museum is home to five National Historic Landmark vessels: Charles W. Morgan- last whaling ship, Sabino Coal Steamer- last in regular operation in the U.S., L.A. Dunton, Joseph Conrad, and the Emma C. Berry. Our property next door to the 1807 Williams Home & Smith Cottage, the 1784 Denison Home, offers 5 guest rooms, all named in honor of these five vessels at the Mystic Seaport. The Carriage House, our newest offering behind the Denison Home in Old Mystic, has rooms themed after historic people of the time.
Also, Mystic is home to Clyde's Cider Mill- the oldest steam power cider mill in the U.S. This special mill draws crowds in the fall to see the steam engine in action.
Mystic is a one-of-a-kind place!
You have access to the shared parking, shared yard, your private guest room, and private bathroom. The Cordage has a little kitchenette too.
You will receive full check-in instructions 4 days before your arrival date.
You will receive your Schlage lock keypad code 24 hours before arrival and you'll have a flexible check-in time.
Like many of the homes in historical villages, there is no garage. The Williams Home guests have three parking spots in our driveway, one for each private room, and the Smith Cottage guests have two. Additional parking is available behind our property at the church lot or Haley's Way Park.

PROPERTY TRUTHS
The queen bed is very high and will require our bed steps. If you are comfortable using the steps, it's worth the climb.
The Williams Home & Smith Cottage property is on Main Street on a bustling corner at a 3-way stop sign across Holly Hock Antiques and the Old Mystic Post Office. It's busy with road noise during the day but a quiet and peaceful hamlet in the evenings.
Outdoor spaces and parking are shared with guests staying in the Williams Home main house and the Smith Cottage behind.
As the Williams Home is circa 1807, the floorboards are wide and do move and creak a bit, but I think you'll appreciate how it adds to the charm and character of an antique home.
With wooden homes, sometimes doors stick and need a push or a pull, as wood naturally expands and contracts with the New England weather.
Original glass windows can be drafty in the wintertime.
There may be other guests staying at the Williams home during your stay, so I ask that all guests respect each other's space and use quiet voices as this is an antique home and the walls are not soundproof.
