Samana Mountain Villa with Ocean View

This mountain villa is located in the hills above the Bannister Hotel, yacht club and marina in Puerto Bahia Samana. It includes covered parking for two cars with two levels in the main villa that terrace into the mountain slope. The Bannister Hotel by the yacht marina below has multiple amenities available to guests of the villa. This includes hotel amenities which include multiple restaurants, tennis courts, reception bar, gymnasium, spa game rooms for adults and children, and an ocean club.

LUXURY VILLA - This private villa is situated in a gentle mountain slope above the Bannister hotel and yacht club. The villa consists of two levels: The entry level starts with a 2-vehicle carport with an entry door into the upper level. As you step into the living area of this upper level with high ceilings there are stunning views of the ocean and tropical gardens below. This entertainment area includes 2 desks, a breakfast table with 4 chairs and a sofa with great views of a large screen TV. There are multiple chairs for family and friend gatherings. On either side of this entertainment area is a large bedroom with full bath. One upper-level bedroom has 2 queen-sized beds and the other includes a king-size bed.

FULL WIDTH OCEAN VIEW DECK - Both bedrooms and the entertainment center have direct access to an ocean view deck that spans the entire width of the villa. The swimming pool and tropical gardens below are accessed off the lower level.

MAIN SWIMMING POOL LEVEL - A winding staircase takes you down to the main living area which includes the Master Bedroom with Full Bath; Living and Dining Areas; Den with Sofa-Couch; Guest Bath; Full Kitchen; Laundry Room; and Service Quarters with Full Bath. (This area has a twin-sized bed).

GARDEN LEVEL - The Garden Level includes a private swimming pool; Lounge Area off the Master Bedroom; and a covered BBQ dining area for outside dining or lounging. The perimeter of the manicured grass area is lined with tropical plants and trees.

HOTEL AMENITIES - The Bannister Hotel below on the marina has multiple restaurants and a reception bar in the lobby of the hotel. Above the lobby is a great place to have an American or Dominican breakfast. (Breakfast is not included in this rate.) La Regatta Restaurant down by the Mini-Market is a great place for lunch or dinner. (See also the Ocean Club for additional dining.) The Hotel also has a gymnasium, spa, billiard and card game room, and playroom for the kids.

OCEAN CLUB - The Ocean Club at the entrance to the boat marina has an ocean front Infinity Swimming Pool; Sit-Down Restaurant; Swimming Pool Deck and Lounge Area; and a Kiosk for Tropical Drinks. There is also a lower deck with a ladder for swimming in the ocean.

TENNIS COURTS - There a two paved tennis courts just a short walk from the Hotel and Mini Market.

All registered guests of the villa have full access to all the amenities in the Puerto Bahia Samana Resort and Marina. Access to the resort is gained either Email or Message confirmation that can be presented at the Security Gate. Details about this process are given once a booking is made. There is free parking both at the villa and the hotel and marina parking lots. Although the hotel is within walking distance of the hotel, it is recommended to use a vehicle of some sort.

There is full WIFI and Internet Service at the Villa. In addition, there is generally great cell phone service. Most cell phone companies have travel modes and personal cell phone can be used to contact families, friends, or management services.

AIRPORTS - The most convenient airport to use when arriving in the Dominican Republic is the Samana El Catey International Airport (AZS). The drive to Puerto Bahia Samana is around 35 minutes, and the Taxi Fare is around $75 USD. If needed, a rental car pickup could be arranged.

Santo Domingo - Las Americas International Airport (SDQ). There are multiple rental car companies to choose from and the drive to Puerto Bahia Samana is just over 2 hours on a modern highway. (Tolls are less than $10 USD.

Travel by Bus - One option is to take a Caribe Tour Bus from the Santo Domingo Las Americas International Airport to Samana. Once there, rental cars and taxis are available. It is obviously more convenient to rent the car at the Santo Domingo Airport with a large family, but the bus ride is available for family members or friends that do not arrive at the same time as the group.

THINGS TO DO - Puerto Bahia Samana is located in the center of the Samana Peninsula - or "bay" side of the peninsula.

Las Terrenas - The drive to Las Terrenas on the northwest side of the peninsula is about 45 minutes. This area is great for shopping, restaurants and beautiful beaches.

Samana - The city of Samana is about a 10-minute drive to the east. It also has shopping, restaurants, and the ocean drive along the city harbor.

Playa El Valle - This world-class beach is about a 30-minute drive to the north.

Cayo Levantado - This island paradise has great beaches and restaurants and is only a 30-minute boat ride away.

Punta Galeras - This popular beach town has great beaches (including Playa Rincon) and has great restaurants. This drive along the southern side of the peninsula is about 45 minutes.
