Snuggle Inn -1 Bedroom Cottage Forest & Lake PEI Cottages

Picture waking up each morning with the soothing sounds of nature surrounding your PEI cottage. Birds singing, squirrels scampering through the trees and the call of a mallard breaks the stillness in the cool morning air. Grab a coffee and walk down to the deck overlooking the lake and smell the freshness. Watch and listen as the still lake is interrupted by trout drawing ripples in the mirror surface.

The kitchens in all the cottages are fully equipped with fridge, stove, microwave, kettle, coffee pot, Satellite TV and DVD. Dishes and cutlery.

The screened porch is a great place to sit in the fresh air. Smoking is permitted on the porch. We ask that you do not smoke in the cottages. We provide a smoke free environment in all our rooms. Cigarette smoking is allowed on the porch of the cottages with ashtrays provided. Please keep the cottage door close if smoking on the porch. We are a Cannabis free property. The use of Cannabis is prohibited anywhere on our property. Thanks for your cooperation.

All the cottages are equipped with fans; some have ceiling fans and other have portable fans.

Outside you have a picnic table and a charcoal BBQ. Gas BBQs are available at a small fee for the propane

Location
Forest and Stream Cottages is located in southeastern PEI, just outside Murray Harbour. Our property is 20 acres of natural beauty with walking trails and the only easy acces to a trout filled 1 km long fresh water lake.

Located south off highway 18 (Cape Bear Road) just west of Murray Harbour Village welcome sign. We are 15 minutes to Wood Island Ferry terminal and only 45 minutes to Charlottetown.

Cute little cabin! Just be aware it is next to four other units but the property is well maintained. The small flooded river they use for kayaks is big enough to have lots of fun too.

Murray Harbour is a great place to get away

The cabins were well equipped. The area is close to a number of great seafood restaurants. There were a number of mosquitos but there was also a screened in porch.

Lovely Retreat

Karl & Tanya are wonderful hosts! We spent two lovely weeks in one of their cabins. Peaceful and quiet, just what we needed. Wonderful setting and our most gracious hosts made our stay perfect. It’s a great place to discover the beaches and sights of the southern part of the Island. 5 stars.

Forest & Lake PEI {Snuggle Inn}

Such a comfortable cottage that was perfect for our needs. Very peaceful and quiet. There was everything one could possibly need in the cottage. The screen porch was a great space for our morning coffee and evening wine. The property's location provided easy access to both the Points East Coastal Drive & Central Coastal Drive so there was plenty of opportunity to explore much of PEI. Will be staying there again.

Perfect vacation

Tanja and Karl were the perfect hosts ! We showed up, tired, wet and batteries drained ! Tanja and Karl let us smoothly check in and quickly gave us the tour of the property, leaving us to settle in. We had the special opportunity to stay in 2 different cottages ! Both offering different charms and cozy feelings. We loved the whole package deal so much that we extended our stay at Forest and Lake ! We also had the opportunity to visit Tanja and Karl bnb which in itself goes above our expectations and the loft appartement was stellar to visit ! Both Tanja and Karl go out of their way to make you feel at home, relaxed and welcome We arrived as guests and we did become friends See you next summer !

Good home base but needs a few improvements.

The owners are relatively new to the business and very very nice folks. There are multiple cottages and we only can comment on the Yellow 1 bedroom unit. (Sleeps 2 ,not 6 stated in listing) The listing of this particular cottage was inaccurate in several ways, but I believe the owner has now hopefully corrected that. The pictures online showed a stove and sofa in the kitchen but the cottage actually only had a hot plate and 1 chair in that room. Unfortunate because the TV is also in there, so is no comfortable place to sit and relax , especially for more than 1 person. The Furnishing makes no sense..2 big sofa chairs in the bedroom and just the 1 glider rocker in the kitchen. (Its a kitchen/living room combo). So with no stove the chicken dinner etc that we had brought with us could not be cooked. Also , the hot plate, toaster oven, coffee maker , TV and cable box were all plugged into the same 110v outlet, so the breaker tripped if we tried to use more than 2 at a time. Hopefully they will also rectify this. However, Helja and Karl graciously apologized and in fact gave us 2 gift cards large $ enough to cover two meals out at any local restaurant! !.. their hearts are in the right place! It's clean and the bed is comfortable enough, but no fresh towels over a 5 night stay (2 small towels) seems a bit chintzy. Dont expect much from the pond or the trails either...trails are overgrown and not marked, and the pond is not at all appealing to swim in. However the Confederation trail ( great for cycling) is only a cple hundred meter up the driveway, the area is fantastic for sea kayaking , there are beaches nearby and the local restaurants are great. Lots to do do and see in the Murray Harbour and Murray River area, and only 35 minutes to Brudenelle Golf course. It's just not very comfortable sitting around inside in the evening. And cooking meals is not happening. The clock radio onky works as a clock..no radio reception due to lack of an antennae perhaps. The internet is S- L -O W ( no streaming movies) , but ok for email , booking ferry , news etc. Still, its clean, safe, friendly and pretty quiet for the most part although the cottages are quite close together. So once you adapt it's a very cozy place to hang out. I'd give it a 2.5 star rating but expect it will improve. The owners mean well, they are just learning the ropes I think. The area is beautiful, just don't expect too much and you'll be happy.

This property was incredible! It checked off all of our boxes, and even the boxes we didn't anticipate. I would definitely recommend this property to others, and I would stay there again next time I'm in the area.

Quiet solitude

The Saunders have thought of everything. Beautifully laid out cottages, well equipped and peaceful. Strong internet connection and a great value to boot! I left my heart in Shady Nook

We rolled into Forest & Stream on July 1st for a 2-day stay and were greeted by the very gracious and friendly Glenn, who took the time to detail specific points according to our interests on a handy map of the east point before handing us the key to Shady Nook. What a cottage! Clean, cozy setup, beautiful surroundings, and stocked with all the appliances, dishes, and utensils that we needed for homecooked meals. Not to mention the charcoal grill and bbq located right outside our cabin. We did some travelling around to different beaches and historic sites during our stay, but we also partook in the sweet onsite offerings of bike rentals for the nearby Confederation Trail, and took the canoe and the paddle-boat scot-free for a jaunt down the forest-hugged tributary at the foot of the property. No matter what we filled our days with, our cozy, comfortable, homey Shady Nook was always a welcoming retreat at the end of them. Glenn and Joan were so very hospitable, helpful, accommodating, and friendly and we thank them for making our trip to the island so perfectly unforgettable. We will be back! New Friends & great stay while returning an Island native to her family.

We where in need of a reasonable place to stay while returning our elderly neighbor & Island native to visit her family. Fortunately we found two of the finest host & individuals we have ever met. Their hospitality is only surpassed by the organization, and cleanliness of their beautiful property. Nothing is left to chance they have thought of almost every detail to make your stay a pleasant peaceful one. Cuddle Doon was well equipped clean, with linens & utensils. Country charm B&B and Forest Stream cottages are the prefect location if you want to see Kings county, PEI. Close to the main arteries of the area but peaceful and secluded. Some must see nearby locations are: Woods Island light house and Museum while there you can see the ferry dock & load, the kids can play on the play ground. If your hungry and want fresh sea food check out the Wood Islands Seafood and take out. Its on the lighthouse side of the ferry dock, next to the marina small but excellent. Panmure light house & park is another great destination, the Sandbar & Grill on Panmure Island causeway has great food too! Cape Bear light house, Newman winery, Rossignol winery & Point Prim light house are other great places to visit. Next to the the Point Prim light house is Point Prim Chowder House which has great sea food & cold local beer. . If you don't want to cook in the cabin and don't want a long drive, Harbor view restaurant is only 1.5 miles away in Murray harbor with great food & chowder, they also open for breakfast. You can have fun testing which sea food chowder ( a local specialty) you like. We liked these 4 restaurants chowders best: Wood Islands Seafood and take out, Wood Islands - Harbor view restaurant, Murray harbor - Sandbar & Grill on Panmure Island causeway and Point Prim Chowder House and Oyster Bar,.All have great chowder so its a personal preference, we tried to list them the way we ranked them, all are the best I ever had. If you need any supplies the general store in harbor view has most things, but for more serious shopping check out Montaque ~30 minutes away. If you go to Montaque don't over look the Fun on a Bun Fish & chips van parked by the bridge in the harbor parking lot. its got super food! Great Memories

My wife and I stayed at Forest and Stream Cottages several years ago, and the place still holds a special place in our heart. We live in Maine and went to the Maritimes (PEI and Nova Scotia) for a little over a week. My grandfather was from Charlottetown, PEI and her grandmother hailed from Cape Breton Island, NS, so the trip was a "back to our roots" sort of adventure. I discovered Forest and Stream on-line, and we stayed in one of the cabins for four days. The cabin was rustic, yet very comfortable. We enjoy buying local food and preparing it ourselves, and the cottage had all of the supplies and appliances that we needed. Forest and Stream is nearby a number of attractions that we enjoyed: (a) Charlottetown and the Confederation Theatre; (b) Montague; (c) Cavendish and the Anne of Green Gables Park; (d) some great provincial parks, including one with live buffalos and another dedicated to storybook characters! In addition, it is very handy to the Wood Island Ferry, which we used for the leg of our trip to Nova Scotia. The property itself is peaceful and secluded and has direct access to the Confederation Trail, which I used for my daily runs. If you asked my wife what her favorite part of the property was, it would be the man-made lake that was stocked with trout. Our property owner allowed us to use one of the rowboats to take excursions up and down this lake for evening fishing trips. We hope to return to Forest and Stream some day. Perfect

This was so cool! We stayed here for our honeymoon and came back for our 30 anniversary! It was lovely. I didn't recognize much (it has been 30 years) but the lovely ambience was the same. Our cottage was lovely, exactly what we needed. Felt like a step back in time but with good internet LOL! As a plus one morning we had breakfast in the B&B section, it was delicious. Hosts super friendly send helpful and very knowledgable about the local area. In addition was especially pleased with the quality of the bedding. Vacation from Heaven!

My family recently stayed in the executive cottage. We have two young children. We were looking for a cottage with some privacy, big enough for our family and close to the beach. The executive cottage exceeded our expectations. It was immaculate, new, spacious and within our price range. The private deck, Bbq, washer/dryer, full kitchen, huge master bedroom and screened porch was a bonus. It was quiet, peaceful with excess to a trail leading into a forest. We spent lots of time at the beaches as they were only five minutes away. We especially liked a beach that was shallow enough for our children to enjoy. At night we visited a nearby beach that was known for its beach glass. Sounds cliche but I wish I could give this 6 stars instead of five. Thank you for your review. We are honestly a little surprised that you waited an entire month after your stay to share these allegedly negative experiences. At check-out, you spoke very positively about your stay and even mentioned that you would love to come back. It is unfortunate that you did not bring any concerns to our attention during your stay. We would always have been happy to listen and, where possible, address any issues while you were here. We were also disappointed to find the cottage left in a very dirty condition after your departure. Unfortunately, our house rules and instructions regarding garbage disposal did not appear to have been followed either. We keep notes regarding the condition of our accommodations and relevant observations at check-out, as we believe it is important to have a fair and accurate record of each guest’s stay. We wish you all the best for the future and hope you find accommodations that better match your expectations. We kindly ask that you choose another property for any future stays.
