Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved our stay here. I thought the sauna and pool were nice touches, but they helped our recovery perfectly from some strenuous hikes we did. I spent a lot of time soaking in the tub that overlooks the forest, as well. We saw some adolescent bear and some deer. Quite frankly, I didn't want to leave. It was out of the craziness of downtown, but close enough. I'll be back ❤️.

Alta Maya

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great cabin despite the sauna that kept tripping the reset button. There are some areas needing improvement. One of the plates had dried egg yolk on it and a glass had lip marks on it, prompting a full dish wash of everything. The car charge could be paid for you very minor expense that could be absorbed. Covering up the visible plumbing in the ceiling would be ideal for the overall ascetic. Dimmer switches please, it was all or nothing on some of the light fixtures. Bigger shower heads or multiple heads would be a nice addition. Blinds in the pool room for more privacy. Descriptions for the symbols on the AC/Heater remote needed. Faster fill spout for the soaking tub it takes 20m or so to fill. All in all the cabin and experience was good, these would be my suggestions. 10/10 would stay again. Customer service was outstanding.
Resposta de VrboOwner em 1 de mar. de 2026
Thank you for your detailed and thoughtful review. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share both your positive experience and your suggestions. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the cabin overall and that our customer service stood out — that means a great deal to us. We also appreciate you bringing the sauna issue to our attention. As noted during your stay, we did send maintenance out to address the reset concern, and we will continue monitoring it to ensure it’s fully resolved. We sincerely apologize for the oversight with the dishware. Cleanliness is extremely important to us, and this does not reflect our standards. We will be addressing this with our housekeeping team. Thank you as well for the additional suggestions regarding lighting, privacy blinds, shower upgrades, plumbing aesthetics, EV charging, remote instructions, and the soaking tub fill time. Feedback like this helps us continue improving the guest experience, and we will be reviewing each item carefully. We truly appreciate your recommendation and would be happy to host you again anytime!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Elk Springs Resort staff was very professional with outstanding customer service. The Alta Maya cabin description was very accurate and the property was very nice, with easy access in a secure setting. The only items that in my opinion that need attention is the hot water setting, the water did not get very hot at all and trying to watch television from the king room bed is almost impossible due to the bed frame blocking half of the tv screen. Other than those two minor items, our stay was wonderful.

Amazing Modern Cabin & Easy Access

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Cabin was perfect! Couldn't have asked for a better cabin and location to both Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge. Only issues was only 1 roll of toilet paper per bathroom, so make sure to stop and get more. Also only one roll of paper towels. There was no hand soap in any of the bathrooms or kitchen. Just a cleansing bar and dish soap that was the size of hand sanitizers. All the dishes had to be rinsed off because of the dust on them. Also one of the split units didnt work because batteries in the remote were dead. Bathroom downstairs was super dirty, from baseboard, back of door, alot of dust!

We are from Kansas City and could not wait to get to Gatlinburg to explore the sites, shops, trails. The cabin left us not wanting to leave! First of all, it’s beautiful! We used every aspect of the cabin and never felt like we had nothing to do! We did get out and explore, but were excited to return to our piece of paradise. Quick Weekend Getaway

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The home was really nice, not really much of a view of mountains, but it was nice to sit outside on the patio and have coffee in the mornings. Quiet area overall. One reason I gave it a 4 is that the master bed was extremely uncomfortable, no support what so ever and the bed linens felt like paper, pillows were flat and not comfortable, bedspread did not smell clean. Also, if you are traveling with young children or older adults keep in mind that the only other bedroom is down three flights of stairs and its also down by the pool entrance. Our grand daughter did not want to stay down there, LOL. We had some user issues with the pool alarm going in and out of the pool, it can be tricky to time it just right so the alarm does not go off. There are huge windows without blinds so if you like to sleep in just be aware of that. Kitchen had the basics, make sure to bring k-cups, paper towels, dish soap, shampoo and body wash as well as there was no bathroom essentials other then a few bars of soap. Wasp nest in living room ceiling. AC in master above sinks was leaking brown water all over the counters so we had to turn it off the AC is other areas worked well. Grill is in the front of the house by the entry and visible by all the neighbors so it's a bit awkward grilling your food while others are outside and around. Some of the windows were not cleaned very well. Would definitely visit Elk Springs again but now that we know the lay of the land would probably choose a different home just for better views etc.

Guest comfort is extremely important to us, and we will be sure to pass your comments along to our team so the bedding and mattress can be evaluated. We also apologize for the concerns you mentioned regarding the AC leak, windows, and the wasp nest. Had we been notified during your stay, we would have been happy to send our maintenance team out promptly to address these issues. We truly appreciate your feedback, as it helps us continue improving the guest experience. We’re glad to hear you would consider visiting again, and we would love the opportunity to help you select a cabin with the views and layout that best fit your preferences for your next stay.

Will Not Be Back

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed in the Alta Maya cabin. We had several issues including black ants all over the kitchen, black mold all over the “rustic” kitchen island, the ac unit kept pouring water inside, pool had no chlorine, main shower has a full open window facing another cabin and the downstairs bathroom had urine soaked into the concrete all around the toilet. We have always stayed with Elk Springs Resorts and we will not be back. For the price we paid for this cabin, this was all unacceptable. We did email the issues (minus the mold which we realized after it was sent) and they responded quickly that they would relay the info to the appropriate personnel. They also sent someone to fix the AC unit which they did not fix because it started pouring water again after we ran it. When we saw the mold, we immediately emailed and never received a response.

Early check in was available to us after we got a text that the cabin was ready around noon. The cabin was well stocked with cooking utensils and was decorated very tastefully. We honestly liked how the cabin was set up and decorated. We were disappointed in the cleanliness of the cabin (with the cabin being ready 3 hours early especially). The upstairs bathroom smelled of urine, the shower wasn't cleaned well at all, one lightbulb was out above the sinks. There was a big ball of long black hair covering the shower drain, so it was obvious they aren't cleaning the way they should. The pool didn't smell like chlorine and we questioned how well that was maintained based on other things we saw. You can tell it doesn't get dusted or vacuumed often at all either. We also found it odd that they only stock you with one garbage bag. We did have an issue where we needed to speak to someone and I will say that they were extremely kind and helpful. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would do it again, I'll just be bringing more cleaning supplies of my own.

Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed the beautiful location, early check-in, cabin layout, and well-stocked kitchen, and we appreciate your kind words about our teams helpful service. We sincerely apologize that the cleanliness did not meet your expectations. Your comments regarding the bathroom, shower, pool, and housekeeping have been shared with our housekeeping and maintenance teams for review. Please know that we have staff available 24/7, along with certified pool technicians who can promptly inspect and address any pool-related concerns should they arise. Most of our pools are salt-based. We appreciate your honest feedback and are pleased to hear you still enjoyed your stay. We truly hope to welcome you back for an even better experience in the future.

We really enjoyed our cabin. It was a beautiful place in a nice area. A couple of minor issues. The pool was a little colder than we liked and the thermostat to adjust it was locked up. It would be nice if the guests could make adjustments to the pool temperature. Also the one shower had some dirty tiles. Other than those 2 issues we enjoyed it. We would recommend.
