So Cal family with kids

We had an amazing stay here. Owner was very helpful and available. House had everyhing you could need and was an excellent location right at the beach. The bikes with kids' seats were so handy. Plus, there were beach towels, umbrellas, boogie boards & snorkeling gear. We would definitely return in the future!

Fantastic Vacation Rental

My family and I loved our time on the North Shore and the Sunset Yards House was a major part of the fun. The house was perfect, with all the toys you could want at the beach, bikes, snorkeling gear, surfboards & boogie boards. The owner was great answering any questions, giving advice and she even went out of her way to get us a bike seat my son would fit in. I was there to surf and she knows all the breaks on the North Shore and when & where to go. The house is in the perfect location, a short walk to Ted's Bakery and an even shorter walk to the great Sunset Point beach. We can't wait until we can return and we will be staying at the Sunset Yards House again.

Highly recommend staying here

Marie is the most amazing host. A month before our stay in Hawaii, another VRBO bailed on us and we had no place to stay. We contacted Marie and she was sympathetic to our situation and helped us out enormously. Marie is kind and responsive. She greeted us at the house when we arrived and walked us through everything. She gave great advice on good places nearby. We relied on her for help with travel times (including traffic) to various destinations such as Pearl Harbour and her advic

Great North Shore Home

We chose this home for several reasons and we are soooo happy that we did! The location of the house is steps from the sandy beach and the bike path is just around the corner. The home is casual and relaxed and comfortable. The owner had foam surfboards and bicycles on site for our use. One day a bike chain was acting up and the owner replaced the bike with another bike that day (within an hour). The house was very comfortable for the 5 of us (2 parents and 3 teens) and had everything we would need for days at the beach and cooking in the home. You can rent a large variety of surfboards if needed, close by as well. A great bakery/deli called Ted's is close by too and has delicious food and we recommend getting a few meals there too (Yes meals!!.Ted's has more than great Chocolate Coconut Cream pies!!) The home owner was very informative and responsive to us and transactions were smooth. We weren't sure about 'staying way out on the North Shore' but visiting Waikiki or Kailua areas were each an easy drive of about 45minutes. Haleiwa is such a fun town close by with great beaches, shops, and restaurants. The property had plenty of parking and the property was enclosed with fencing for privacy. We felt very safe in this quiet neighborhood. The outdoor shower was handy after a day at Waimea Bay swimming and jumping off the big rock (a must do)!! or, snorkeling at Shark's Cove!! Overall we would love to stay here again

Beautiful home, well located

Our family of five (with two teens and a grandma) had a wonderful stay in this home. It really was a beautiful and unique home and the pictures on the site are accurate. We loved sitting out on the deck for breakfast. Nearly every day we rode the bikes to local beaches, especially Shark's cove where we did the best snorkeling of our lives. It was so nice to have use of the bikes and snorkel gear. The owner's husband was our main contact during our stay and he was friendly and helpful.

Amazing Host & Property!

The homeowner offered excellent communication before and during our stay. We gave her an approximate time of arrival and were greeted as we pulled into the driveway. She was happy to talk to us about the available sports equipment, show us around the house, explain the TV remote, talk about the general area, etc. Such a terrific host!!!!! The house was exceptionally clean and exactly how described in the listing. There was plenty of room for our family. My daughter loved her private "suite" downstairs and my nephew enjoyed the privacy he received in the loft. The house made everyone happy!! The house is just steps from the beach so it was uber convenient to put my feet in the sand whenever I wanted. Ted's Bakery is nothing more than a few minutes walk from the house. I used one of the bicycles to ride beside my daughter and husband who ran on the bike path. We appreciated having access to beach chairs and boogie boards. We did use the washer/dryer at the end of our stay, which was a great perk! The beds are comfortable and air conditioning worked the one night we used it. My husband simply preferred to sleep with the windows open and catch the nice breeze that came through so we didn't need the A/C. :) Everyone we encountered on North Shore was super friendly. From the people we met on the beach to folks waiting in line at Ted's. All and all, we were very pleased with the property and delighted with our stay.

Piece of Aloha

Such a peaceful and serene setting. J. and her family have preserved a hale in which their love for the islands shines through in such small details as the leaf imprints in the entry and the beautiful stained glass inside the house. There's so many wonderful features to this house: the location, the amenities, the hospitable hosts. If you are looking for a quiet peaceful taste of the Aloha spirit, this is the place for you! Seven days in paradise

We enjoyed a fabulous time at the north shore and very much appreciated the immediate proximity to the sunset beach. It was uncrowded, even on the weekend, so that turtles literally relaxed next to us. Close to the house, you can find several exciting trails for hikes from easy to moderate levels of difficulty. The house itself was very cosy and all of us felt more than comfortable with the location. In short, the owners provided optimal housing conditions. Mahalo and Aloha.

Fantastic location, helpful hosts, great accommodations!

This very comfortable home is on a corner lot across the street from an empty (no buildings, just trees) lot that is on the beach so access to a gorgeous beach is just 3 mins away with no busy streets to cross. Google Maps has a hard time with the address as formatted on VRBO but entering the address without the "Sunset Point" will get you there with no problem. I've already recommended this home to friends! Thank you for the great stay!

Quiet, Safe, Convenient...Beautiful Location!!!

We recently stayed at this property as we were on the island for a wedding. We could not have been happier with our choice to stay at this home. Although it is not "beachfront", it has some great ocean views and is literally a 60 second walk to the beach along a quiet public access path. The beach itself was never even remotely crowded and it appeared as though most people out there were locals or others like us just wanting some peace and relaxation. We had monk seals and turtles show up on the sandy beach and could see humpback whales breaching in the distance. This is also a popular surfing area this time of year and it was fun watching the surfing action during the day. Our neighborhood felt very safe and we didn't think twice about walking to Ted's Bakery to get an evening meal or taking the bike path to Shark's Cove to sample the food trucks. The property has a privacy fence around it and a nice private lanai on the second floor that offers a relaxing place to rest and enjoy the ocean breeze and sounds. The location of our house with quiet beaches and the nearby amenities left us wondering why anyone would want to stay anywhere else on the island! The North Shore is truly the place to be if you aren't looking to be overrun by crowds. From our experience traveling the island, we couldn't think of a better location to book a return trip to than Sunsetyards on Sunset Beach. Thank you to the owners for providing us with this perfect setting for our family vacation!

Perfect location, North shore vacation

We had a fantastic week. We loved the location. The house was clean, and had just the right amenities that we needed for the week. There is a relaxed local vibe here. We enjoyed riding the bikes on the long bike path. The owner was awesome to work with. Everything went smoothly. When we come back to Oahu, we will definitely stay here again.

Great for place families and surfing!

Three generations of our family stayed a week at Sunsetyards and loved it. It was super convenient that Marie has a Wavestorm surfboard, several boogie boards, 4+ cruiser bikes with locks, and a whole bin full of flippers, reef shoes, etc. for guests to borrow. We took the kids (ages 3-4) to Kuilima and Sharks Coves (each about 20 minutes by bicycle), and the adults among us enjoyed surfing at Turtle Bay and Pue'ena Point. We shopped at Foodland, also close by, and cooked most of our breakfasts and all of our dinners in the well-appointed kitchen. Ted's Bakery is another great option for breakfast pastries, eggs, and coffee. We also enjoyed having laundry on the premises, and we're already talking about coming back again next year!

Perfect position, right on the beach.

The most perfect house set up right on Backyards surf beach.Outdoor hot shower for after surfs and bikes to cruise down to the nearby famous spots (5 min bike ride V Land or 10 minutes Pipe). Owners are very surf savvy and served as excellent surf guides with literally decades of local knowledge.Nicest people youll ever meet. House was sunny and well ventilated with great family layout. Third year in a row and I would not book anywhere else to stay on the North Shore. Will be back next year too hopefully.

There is no better place at the North Shore

We stayed at Sunsetyards for a week - wished it would have been a couple more! I can't imagine a better place at the North Shore. So close to splendid Sunset beach and yet in a quiet neighbourhood. We felt at ease the minute we walked into this beautiful and well equipped house, J.Marie was a very responisive and considerate host who took care of everything we asked for. Thanks for providing us with four bicycles, it was great to be able to cycle to Pipeline and watch the surfers ride those enormous waves. This house truly is a gem, will definitely return on next trip to Oahu.

Amazing...!!!

My family and I stayed at the Sunset house and loved it. It was a quiet neighborhood. the house was very clean. Had bikes ( which my family and I enjoyed every much ) all the beach gear you need and best of all was just 100 yards if even that, to pretty much our own privet beach! Bobby was very helpful with whatever we needed although it wasn't much because the house was already well equipped with all you would need. My daughter did not want to leave!!! It was close to the town which had a verity of places to shop and eat. the grocery store was just afew miles down the road and Ted's Bakery was a short walk away for a bomb a** breakfast. In short we would defiantly stay at the lovely home again!!! Thank you again Marie and Bobby for letting my family and I stay at your lovely home. Paul from Utah

Fantastic North Shore Location!

My husband, son and I spent nine nights at Sunset Yards. What a great find! The home is located at the end of a quiet street with a small open lot between it and the ocean. With just a few steps, every morning we enjoyed coffee on the beach; every evening, the beautiful sunsets from Sunset Point! Famous Ted's Bakery is a short walk or bike ride away, as well as Sunset Beach, Pupukea beaches and Sharks Cove. Sunset Yards is equipped with most anything you might need. We especially enjoyed grilling out in the evenings and sitting outside on the lanai. We would stay here again!

Nice place close to beach

We enjoyed the stay. The beach was close and a few minutes of walk was a pretty calm bay where our kids enjoyed going to the water. The house has everything you need for the beach and in the kitchen. It was very nice to deal with the owners.

Cute House with ocean views and skipping distance to Sunset point

Warm and comfortaable house at sunset point. Short stroll to swim, listen to the waves crashing as you sit on the covered deck. Easy parking and use of bikes was great. Comfy couches when weather closed in. Great for a break.

So relaxing and ejoyable !

This past week at Sunsetyards was so speical with a good friend and our two daughters. The weather and the house was perfect! Such a nice break from winter. We watched the sunset every night steps from the house at the beach just out front. And had coffee on the deck every morning. The swimming spot just out front was one of the more protected spots to swim during an amazing large swell. It was just perfect. The teenagers loved the bikes and went to Sharks Cove food truck on their own. The house is lovely with beautiful views, and had all we needed. We almost always cooked at home because it was nicer than going out. The house is charming and the yard nice for small BBQ's and we really enjoyed sitting toghter on covered lanai. Looking forward to coming back soon.

We welcome respectful guests that will care for our home and be aware of close neighbors in the quiet neighborhood of Sunset Point.

We choose this location because it's a great family neighborhood with a swimming spot that is protected during large swells. Also because it is far enough from Kam. hwy. not to hear the steet noise. In both directions there are white sand beaches, amazing surf, and beauty. Listen to the surf day and night.

The bikes! Wonderful airflow with losts of beautiful plants and garden around and beach access you the property line. Also the deck and yard are very comfortable with lots of beautiful trees and colorful plants. . The beach is beautiful. I love the classic style of Sunsetyards and the views from all the upstairs rooms. A great family neighborhood.
