Wonderful getaway

Cedarcliff was the perfect getaway. While near other camps, it was still fairly private and quiet. Everything was clean and well kept. The water was smooth and glassy in the early mornings for kayaking. My dog enjoyed fetching water toys from the lake at the little beach area. There are so many places around the cottage and property to sit and read or gaze at the water and sky, but my favorite was the deck upstairs. The view and the sound of the water and loons from that perch were just so pretty and relaxing. I liked the proximity to nature trails, lupine fields, and both Rangeley and Oquossoc, too. It was a lovely place to stay.

Cedarcliff is such a charming cottage. It has a very private waterfront which is wonderful for lawn games. We had a lobster bake outside on the picnic table and enjoyed the call of the loons. A perfect week in a beautiful setting!

We enjoy Cedarcliff home and property and have returned for several years. The property is perfect! Being on Rangeley Lake is very relaxing and the town and surrounding areas offer opportunities for outdoor recreational activities and exploring historical venues. Unique shops are always fun to check out. Morton and Furbish staff are friendly and extremely helpful. Thank you!

Historic camp in a secluded location

I have stayed in many different camps on the lake, but this was by far the most special. It was like staying in a small museum/boathouse dedicated to the history of Rangeley. From the books on the shelfs to the art on the walls, to the sounds of the lake and the loons, it was magical. Being right on the waters edge allows one to feel like they're aboard a boat! The camp is well equipped, not fancy, but has everything you need. Privacy on a busy lake was a welcome bonus! We absolutely loved the location and would definitely return again.

Wonderful Stay

This is a wonderful lake house in a great location. It is appointed very well, with one exception - the beds in the upstairs left bedroom offer no support. Fortunately, our daughter and husband found that the other bedroom was fine. We especially appreciated the cleanliness and ā€œno bugsā€ in the house. We also enjoyed the upper deck when it wasn't raining, and the enclosed porch when it was. It was also very nice to have our two-year old poodle with us. She, too, had a great time! All in all a wonderful week!

Cedarcliff is a lovely home in an ideal location near town, but without the noise of traffic. The home has all of the amenities and is clean and well cared for. The large yard offers opportunities for outdoor activities or quiet time along the lake's edge. Hiking trails, indoor events, local restaurants and the like are nearby or within and hour's drive. Watercraft are available for a paddle on the lake. This location is pet friendly, allowing us to enjoy our vacation with our dog. Morton & Furbish Rentals staff are pleasant and responsive and we would highly recommend working with them to plan a vacation at Cedarcliff.

Perfect for our family

This vintage cottage was ideal for our family, with grandparents, and our daughterā€™s family including two 3 year old girls. Very private setting, big yard to run around in, plus a small gravel put -in/ swim area with water toys, life jackets etc. We used the canoe provided, and the paddle boat. Very well equipped kitchen, dining on the enclosed porch seated all six of us, right on the water! Location so convenient to nature trails, trout fishing streams, and town for shopping. A place to sit and read, and enjoy watching wildlife - loons and mergansers paddling by close to us, even an eagle catching a fish on the lake. Daughter said it was magical!

lovely location

A lovely location, private and yet nearby to both Rangeley and Oquossoc. Nice access to the water, very comfortable bed-1st floor, well appointed kitchen (no dishwasher). The 2nd floor open deck is great and the dock is easy access for swimming and boating. While we were there it was quite overcast weather and the house is a bit dark inside when there is no sun. The living rooms (one on each floor) are comfortably set up, good reading lights and also in each bedroom. It also had a very nice lawn, flat and good for kids to play and for our little dog.

Perfectly peaceful summer vacation

This antique cottage takes you back in time where craftsmanship and coziness come together. This is the last cottage on a dead end road and sits right at the waters edge with expansive views of the lake. The camp is located between Oquossoc and Rangeley with easy access to all the area has to offer. We made memories that will last a lifetime biking, hiking, canoeing, swimming, fishing, camp fires, bar b qs etc. This is an outdoorsmans paradise with plenty of amenities to offer someone that may not want to spend their entire vacation outdoors.

Great traditional camp-very cozy on a rainy day.

We loved the large private lot-plenty of sun and shade. Great moonrises and loons are nearby every day - all day long. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. We had a very relaxing vacation. We dealt with Melinda at M&F: very responsive and professional. We had everything we needed. The only drawback was the floating dock during the windy days; Otherwise it would have been a 5-star camp for us. But it's not a dealbreaker, as we will be returning next summer.

Classic Lake House

A very nostalgic setting which reminded me of childhood vacation homes. Lots of great woodwork, a bit funky layout but in a good way. House is practically in the water its so close to the shore. Nice yard, porch, deck, and dock. Perfect location between Rangeley and Oquossoc. Could use regular doors on bathrooms instead of louvered bi-folds. A fireplace would be a nice addition but the house heating system worked great.
