Wonderful, peaceful garden cottage with incredible vineyard to mountain views

We’re Lucy and James, originally from the UK (Lucy) and Malta (James). What started as a two-year adventure to Cape Town in 2017 soon became a forever home, and today we’re happily raising our two boys in the beautiful Constantia Valley.

We fell in love with Cape Town for its sunshine, mountains, wine estates, and the relaxed lifestyle that makes every day feel special. You’ll often find us hiking local trails, exploring new restaurants, or simply enjoying a glass of wine at sunset while the children play in the garden.

Hosting our cottages allows us to share what we love most about this part of the world. We’ve designed each space to feel stylish yet homely, with all the comforts guests need to relax, explore, and feel at home. Whether you’re here for a short break or a long stay, our goal is to make your time as stress-free and memorable as possible.

We’re always happy to share tips on our favourite wine estates, scenic drives, or family-friendly activities, but we also know when to step back so guests can enjoy their stay in privacy. What we enjoy most about hosting is welcoming people from around the world and helping them discover why Constantia is such a special place to live.

We chose Constantia because it offers a lifestyle that blends natural beauty, history, and convenience in a way that few places can. Nestled among vineyards and framed by dramatic mountains, it feels like a countryside retreat, yet it’s only 20 minutes from Cape Town’s city centre, the airport, and world-class beaches. It’s this rare balance of peace and accessibility that makes the neighborhood so special.

Constantia is the birthplace of South African wine, and Groot Constantia – the oldest and most historic wine estate – is right on our doorstep. We love being able to step out of the garden gate and wander through the vineyards, enjoy a tasting, or settle into a long, lazy lunch at one of the estate’s acclaimed restaurants. Beyond Groot Constantia, the valley is dotted with award-winning wineries, boutique shops, and fine-dining restaurants, making it a haven for food and wine lovers.

What we enjoy most about the neighborhood is the connection to nature. Mornings often begin with birdsong and mountain views, while afternoons might be spent hiking in the surrounding trails or strolling through Kirstenbosch Gardens. Evenings bring stunning sunsets over the valley, a reminder of why we fell in love with this place.
