Welcome to Casa de las Abuelas - an adobe guest house located a short walking distance to the historic Taos Plaza in Taos, New Mexico.

This 1,200 square foot guest house, designed by Daniel William Hoffmann, is fully furnished and offers all of the comforts of home away from home. This Taos vacation rental is complete with:

The adobe casita was delightful. We enjoyed our three day stay. The casita had everything we needed to make our visit pleasurable. Page the host was easy to work with and quick to respond. The on-site couple Bill and Nancy were very professional and helpful.We highly recommend d the property.

Lovely Adobe home with beautiful custom finishes near downtown plaza. Easy to walk to shops and restaurants.Very quiet and serene. We enjoyed every aspect of our stay and would definitely stay again the next time we are in the area. Even better than the description.

Guest House In Quiet Neighborhood Near Plaza

This beautiful guest house is one of our favorite places to stay when we make our annual vacation to Taos. The design of this space is such a visual feast for the mind and soul. The interior and exterior creates a beautiful setting for your stay. There is plenty of space for a couple to relax or get your work done while enjoying this well appointed casita with a well stocked kitchen, gogeous dining area, and a stunning outdoor haven. We have stayed here on many occasions and plan on returning when we can.

Great place to stay

We found this to be an absolutely wonderful place to stay. Very clean with plenty of space for a couple. Nice courtyard and walk into town. The host was very thoughtful and provided excellent instructions on everything.

Wonderful home!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this very comfortable and lovely home. Everything we needed was there - this was the best-stocked VRBO we've ever stayed in. Thank you to the owners! 10 minute walk to the Plaza, llama farm down the road, very cute. Private garden and pretty yard, though the patio space was due for some gardening and dusting. We would definitely stay here again!

Lovely place for small family

My husband, 2 year old daughter and I stayed for a long weekend trip. The host was so nice, and the place was perfect for us. We loved having the dining area and cute backyard. It is close enough to town to make trips feel easy and accessible, and we loved seeing the llamas next door!

Taos Getaway

This beautifully designed and well equipped Pueblo Style house was perfect! It is conviently located near the town plaza in a lush, quiet neighborhood. The hosts, Bill and Nancy, live nextdoor and were exceptionally helpfull and personable. We would love to return for another visit!

Had a great time

The property was gorgeous. We had a great stay. Met Bill. Super friendly. House was fully stocked with toiletry items and kitchen supplies. Fireplace was amazing. And the courtyard was stunning. We had a fantastic time walking into town, as the house was super close to the shopping area of town. Overall great time.

Beautiful Pueblo Revival style home in a quiet location yet within walking distance to the center of town. This place was comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed for our delightful 4 week stay. Highest rating!

Guest House Peaceful Retreat in Town

This house is a beautiful place to stay for a couple. This is our fifth visit here, so that tells you how much we love it.A great getaway that is very spacious with the most stunning design inside and out. Very tastefully appointed with a well stocked kitchen and plenty of little spots to relax and read, write, etc. Windows in every room with gorgeous views. We will be back.

A BEAUTIFUL STAY IN TAOS

We found this beautiful Adobe home in a quiet neighborhood only 3 blocks from the Plaza. It has a wood burning fireplace and hot water radiant heat in the floor. This place has everything, fully equipped kitchen, gas grille outside plus stocked spice cabinet. It was so quiet there, we didnt want to leave, the host was so helpful and friendly, she helped us extend another night.page was so helful and nice. Next year we will stay a week.

This architect-designed guesthouse exceeded our expectations and was well-appointed. I greatly appreciated all the detail and character of the house. We have stayed at a number of properties with VRBO over the years and this one was one of the best! I enjoy cooking and our stay was over Thanksgiving break. All that was needed to prepare a Thanksgiving meal was provided in the kitchen. The comfortably sized Dining Room with surrounding large windows made for a cheerful and comfortable place to eat, gather, work puzzles and play board games. Added comforts included the Kiva fireplace, the collection of colorful artwork throughout the house, the reading niche, stereo system, bedroom desk/workspace and book collection. I'm an architect in Texas and grew up in New Mexico, so I thoroughly enjoyed some downtime perusing many of the southwestern subject matter books. We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood, privacy, solace and sunny patio during the day. At night, my husband enjoyed the clear night skies and amazing stargazing opportunities. His only observation was that the bright motion sensor-security lighting on the patio was distracting. We would definitely recommend this property and would stay here again. Just lovely.

This was one of the most exceptional places to stay in Taos. The Casa infused sacredness. So quiet and peaceful. Grateful to owners for sharing! Everything we needed was included in the home!! Cozy and beautiful guest house.

What a lovely experience to be so close to town and still see the stars gleaming brightly in the night sky. The architectural details of this Adobe guest house were beautifully welcoming and calming. The in-floor heating was sheer delight as my visit occurred during a cold spell. Excursions were easy from this location. And yet, just staying in to make a good meal and explore the offerings of the guest house library was also a delight. I felt I had a real taste of Taos, only to want more. I hope this property might also be available for my next visit.

Excellent - we will return

My wife and I fell in love with this beautiful adobe casita. The floor plan is ideal for New Mexico weather, with the house wrapping around the courtyard with french doors in the master bedroom, living room, and dining room that all open to the courtyard to merge indoor and outdoor spaces into a single indoor/outdoor living space. The thick walls, high-end wood casement windows and doors, smooth curving surfaces, and quirky local artwork combine to give the house a very homey feel. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped and laid out for the serious home chef. It's location on a very quiet street combined with in-floor radiant heating and thick adobe walls made for a very quiet and cozy, relaxing environment. It is less than a 10-minute walk to the Taos Plaza with its shops, restaurants, and art galleries. We wish we could magically lift this house to our property in Colorado and make it permanently ours.

Wonderful Accommodations!

This beautiful, unique home was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Southwestern style with lovely artwork and furnishings. Everything we needed was readily available with clear instructions. We will definitely return to this excellent home!

Great Vacation Property

This was a very nice property to stay in for a few days in Taos. It was actually designed by a well-known local architect, who still lives in the main house on the property. It was interesting to meet him and hear a bit about the place. The house is very nicely furnished and had absolutely everything we needed including a very well equipped kitchen. This was really important to us as we like to cook our own breakfast before we go out venturing in a new city. The collection of board games and movies was also very nice and much enjoyed by our eight year-old son. It's a nice, quiet street and the llama farm down the road was a huge hit with our son! The llamas actually came up and ate grass out of his hand! The location was extremely convenient - I don't think we ever drove more than 10 or 15 minutes to get anywhere. All in all, a very nice place to stay during our short visit to Taos. I would highly recommend this property.

This is an absolutely darling place. The quality of the interior is impressive. The host were delightful and if you have forgotten anything Im sure they have it there waiting to share. The location is an easy walk to the center of Taos shopping and galleries. you will love it!

The Casa is my 2nd home. I live in Los Angeles and Bill and Nancy live in the "Big House" on the property year round. Bill moved to Taos from Marin County 20+ years ago and is the architect who designed both the homes. The Guest House was built to host our family and grandchildren, hence its name Casa de Las Abuelas - House of the Grandmothers. We have spent many years convening at the Casa to enjoy Taos, surrounding by its comforting abobe walls. The Casa is a special place!
