You’re absolutely right: after rain, the shorter route can be more challenging. We’re grateful you noted the longer paved option, and we’ll make sure future guests are reminded of the best route depending on conditions. The interior opening you mentioned is part of the original architectural design and is visible in the listing photos, but we appreciate you noting how sound can carry between levels.
