Perfect quiet mountain retreat for a weekend! The beds were comfy and the place was clean. The bathrooms were older and more “rustic” than we expected, but serviceable. The road was closed partway up so we had a hard time figuring out how to access the unit at first — better directions for this would have been helpful. We were glad to have a pet friendly place to stay for the weekend!

True tree house, the view is of the trees. It was nice to see a doe just outside the unit. Don't stress if road is still closed near the unit. An alternate route is available, however cell service was not available while trying to find the Alternate route. Don't wait till last minute to ask host like I did. Lol

Host communicated well when we had questions. We enjoyed the quiet area. Road construction nearby made it challenging to find the property. It would have been nice to be informed about this in advance.Some basic maintenance would be beneficial. Bathroom vent not working, chairs at table very wobbly (and one missing), missing/burned out light bulbs and non working bedroom light. An overall deep clean and dusting is needed.Listing should note washer/dryer are down at the patio level, not inside the main house.

I stayed here with my two dogs and had a wonderful experience. The location was perfect — an easy drive into town and to the ski resorts — yet it was still very peaceful and quiet. It was a great place to relax after busy days out. I would definitely stay here again.

Great place for a late season, wintery couples getaway! Even had a picturesque snowy morning. Had a little trouble finding it because my navigation wanted me to take a road that's closed, but we just went around the other way. Host was quick to answer questions about the gas fireplace. No yard space for the dog to go to the bathroom, but we made do with walks. Would definitely stay again.

Secluded gem

Property was secluded in the woods but walking distance to the ski resort. Nice and clean. Would recommend and would stay again in the future.

Super cute retro mountain round house! The space was super comfortable with everything we needed for a short getaway. The windows were the star of the show!! Only issue we had was that the fireplace didn’t work but the owner was super responsive and tried to help as best as they were able. This is a perfect spot for four adults!

The home was cute and comfortable. The location is good- near hiking and restaurants. The neighborhood was great to walk our dog. There were deer everywhere! Be mindful GPS could lead you to the street below…most likely because the road washed out and is closed. We had to navigate through a condo complex for the most direct way. Could have been like that since Helene, but we were unaware until getting there and having to find our way. The outside area was nice, however, to access you have to go outside and down stairs. This is the same with the washer/dryer. The bathrooms are tiny…think cruise ship size. Was nice there were two. Water was hot and pressure was good. The kitchen had most things you’d need. The oven was dirty and there were no pans or oven mitts. The only pantry staples are salt & pepper. There is a coffee pot/coffee/sugar/cream. Lots of steps to get into the property, but also a very long ramp for a wheelchair. Overall, a good stay. The EV charger was a nice touch. Wish we had time to enjoy the firepit. Love that it was pet friendly. Hosts communicated well.

First, no one ever told us the road was out. We had to sit for awhile and try and figure out what we needed to do and where to go.Thanks to the postman, he told us an alternate route to get to the house. We ask for an earlier check in and they would not give it to us. However, when we arrived, the snow had not been walked thru at all. Looks to us no one had been there so we wonder why we could not go in a few hours earlier. Towels in the master bath were folded but wet. Uck! Place was decorated well. However, it needed dusting really bad. The top of our master bed was really dirty. The pillows were worn out and needs to be replaced for sure. We needed a few more pillows and did not see any. We enjoyed the views and the fireplace. The living room area was nice.

Thank you for your feedback. To clarify a few points: Sunday is our highest-volume checkout/check-in day, and this reservation had a same-day turnover. For that reason, early check-in was not possible, which we communicated clearly in advance. While the exterior stairs may have appeared untouched due to snowfall, the home was actively in the cleaning and inspection process and was not ready for guest access prior to the scheduled check-in time. You just took the stairs down while our cleaning team used the ramp on the side. We were not contacted during your stay regarding road access, towels, pillows, or cleanliness concerns. Had we been made aware, we would have addressed them immediately. We’re glad you enjoyed the views, fireplace, and living room, and we appreciate the feedback.

We had an amazing time in the treehouse for the 4th of July weekend. Communication and check-in couldn't have been easier, and Chuck was great when we wanted to tack a day on to our trip and arrive a day early. The house is beautiful, with lovely decor and cozy furnishings. Mosquitoes made it tough to enjoy the outside spaces, but that's just what you get in the NC mountains in summertime! The location is amazing. We were so close to downtown Beech Mountain to enjoy food, shopping, and festivities, and also to the ski resort, where we took the summer lift to the top to enjoy a cocktail and an incredible view of the gorgeous Blue Ridge Mountains. We were also just minutes from Buckeye Lake, where we enjoyed an easy, shady hike on a pretty warm day. ***Be aware that Charter Hills Road is closed almost right in front of the house. The road washed out, and it looks like it won't be repaired for a long while. If your navigation takes you to the closed side, just turn around and do a loop on Dogwood Lane. Easy peasy.***All in all, a great stay!
