Villa Mercedes 2 is located on the beach a exclusive fishing village and a flamingo natural site on Chicxulub Puerto in the North Tropical Riviera close to the port of Progreso on the Yucatan peninsula.
This 4 bedroom, 5 bathroom modern home is fully equipped and decorated with beach style furniture, sea decoration and beach/sea painting. It has a fully equipped kitchen and laundry room, luxury linens and beach towel kits, smart TVs and a full house natural sea breeze design. Provided with over expected electronics including: broadband internet access with double wifi connection home coverage, local telephone and satellite TV.
All 4 bedrooms have their own bathrooms that maintain their separate areas to assure your privacy.

Host was very accommodating, the ocean view awesome, the neighbors welcoming. House was great and met our needs. The caretaker was onsite and very helpful. First time in the Mérida area and we loved it.

Wonderful experience

Beautiful property with excellent management. Tony was very responsive and timely with his information and we found him extremely helpful. Onsite property assistants were also great. Olivia cooked several meals for us which were delicious and it was lovely to sit outside in the ample outside living space, while enjoying her cooking. Also recommend Raul who took us on a tour of several cenotes and did some driving for us. Highly recommend this property and all that goes with it.

Beautiful Property, Plenty of Space

This property is beautiful. Right on the beach with plenty of space, inside and out. The rooms are very large with big closets and a bathroom in each one. We had some issues with water supply, and the internet not functioning. The owner was quick to respond and act on repairing, however we did not resolve the internet issue, and did not have running water in one of the bathrooms which was not ideal. The photos listed on VRBO are not completely accurate and could use an update. The washing machine did not wash very well, and there is no dryer on the property. The air in Chicxulub is damp so drying items took a couple of days outdoors. We had a large group of family, with small kids and teens, and it functioned perfectly for what we needed. Chicxulub is a bit isolated however, and main amenities were about 20mins away in Pegreso. We luckily had a vehicle to travel around in, but buses and shuttles were also easily available. We had a great stay!

Beautiful Yucatecan Vacation

What a wonderful place for our family Thanksgiving. Perfect idyllic location and a short walk to restaurants, shops and the pier. Some of our best memories are after dinner strolls to the panaderia and heladeria. Great locals vibe, a short 10 minute walk for windsurfer rentals and lessons. We would love to rent this house again for another vacation!

La propiedad se encuentra en buenas condiciones. Las habitaciones son amplias y buenos servicios de Baño. La atención de Tony fue siempre cordial y oportuna. Una de las cosas que no nos gustó es que la alberca está fría y no tiene calefacción, esto fue una sorpresa para nosotros, pues no estaba especificado en el anuncio. No nos pudimos meter ninguno de los 5 días por el clima.

Excellent property

Big property love our stay! my family enjoyed the beach and amenities. Great communication and has everything you need to have a great experience, the beach is clean and feels like having your own private beach. Highly recommended it! Definitely I will stay again.

Beautiful Villa right on the ocean

We had a great week at Villa Mercedes 2. The location was perfect, and the villa met all of our expectations : cleanliness, well equipped, with plenty of space for us all (a family of 6, with the 4 large bedrooms each with its ensuite). Tony was a perfect host, as were the caretaker and his wife. We especially enjoyed long walks on the shoreline, and buying fresh fish right off the fishing boats at our doorstep was a treat. ll in all we had a great time, and will definitely come back. Thanks for everything Tony

I loved the accommodations. It fit our family needs well !!! The rooms were very spacious, it's nice to have your own on suite bathroom so you could chill in own space or in the common areas. The pool was awesome.. to enjoy if you choice to just view the sea though I personally did both several times. Maintenance was kept up and available if needed.. I would love to come again if time was permitted and stay longer so much better than a hotel. I would recommend, 5stars. Julie Bush

Beautifully maintained modern beach home in Chicxulub

Excellent house. Beautifully laid out indoor and outdoor living. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need. We cooked in most nights with fresh veggies and the fresh fish delivered to our door. Olivia and Gonzalo the caretakers were so helpful and met any need we had. They were both so friendly and warm. The pool was wonderful for a cooling dip after a day on the beach. The fish restaurant El Charlito in Chicxulub had the best fried snapper...this is a whole fish deep fried. :-) So good!!! I cannot think of anything that would have made our three weeks any better. The house is even more lovely than the photos. The bus to Progreso comes two blocks away and Uber is also available. We took a tour to see the flamingos at Celestún and it was well worth the trip over. Celestún is a really fun small town. Thank you, Tony, for sharing your beautiful home.

Beautiful waterfront Villa.

Villa Mercedes is elegant and well equipped. The Simon family did everything to make our 2 week stay perfect. The caretakers, Gonzalo and Olivia, are wonderful, and respond immediately to any question or concern. We look forward to returning in the future.

Could not be better!!!

The place is just as shown in the pictures, it is very spacious and well -mantained. The beach is beautiful and Tony is always a phone call away willing to help. Gonzalo, who takes care of the place is super helpful and provides great advice. Everything works perfectly, we had an amazing family time! Will definitely come back!

Best vacations in Yucatan

House is amazing everything is spacious, fresh. Furniture are on great conditions and everything is working. Gonzalo (the caretaker) is very kind and courteous. House area is quiet, private and completelly safe. I will definitelly come back to Mercedes 2. Tony is very good on doing his job. Everything is as posted.

This property is beautiful. Tony was very easy to work with and very responsive. His caretakers reside in back of the property and, also, were very responsive and courteous. The home is set up quite well for enjoyment of the home itself and the pool. The ocean water was very warm and comfortable for swimming. There are a lot of fishing boats on the beach. Chixculub is a wonderful area and Tony provided great recommendations for restaurants and activities. The home is close to grocery shopping and restaurants.

Best holiday ever!

Friends and I have just returned from a four week stay at Villa Mercedes 2. We had a wonderful and restful vacation, which was exactly what we were looking for. The house was exactly as described, if anything it was even larger that the pictures show. The kitchen has everything needed to cook and serve large meals with room at the dining room table for everyone. It was a pleasure to meet Tony and have him share a bit of his family history with us. We had locked ourselves out of the safe (our fault) and Tony came to our rescue immediately, driving all the way from Merida. Gonzalo and Olivia , the caretakers, are close by and were always willing to help with any thing we asked for. The people of Chicxulub were so friendly and although our Spanish is very limited and not many townspeople speak English we have no problem communicating. We took the bus to Progreso and Merida numerous times and found it to be so easy to use that we were glad we hadn't rented a car. Thank you Tony for making us feel so welcome and that your home was our home. I'm looking forward to coming back again hopefully

Wonderful Family Vacation!!

Our family vacation was spent at Villa Mercedes 2 for four weeks this spring (Feb-Mar) and we thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience! Right from our first contact to the last our experience with Tony was exceptional; he was very friendly, professional, and helpful and was prompt to respond! The very large home was exactly as pictured with an extra set of clean bedding & towels for each guest. When you walk into the home you can see straight through to the pool, palm trees, white sandy beach, and right through to the Gulf of Mexico, it was very beautiful! The village of Chicxulub was exactly what we were hoping for, ‘Old Mexico’, not commercialized at all!! We found a few good restaurants in the village and also in Progreso which was only a 7 minute drive away or just buy fish from a local fisherman or fresh prawns from the gentlemen who stopped by the house ever couple days and cook in your own kitchen! At the north end of Merida there is a Costco for those who like to stock up, perishables can easily be purchased in either Chicxulub or Progreso. Apparently, there is over 5000 Cenotes in the area, a definite must to take in a few if you are in the Yucatan, they are breathtaking! Along with a tour of at least one of the ancient Mayan ruins, absolutely incredible! Visiting Merida & Uman along with eating fresh coconuts poolside were additional highlights of our trip! All in all a Great Vacation slowing down, enjoying the sun, sand and water! We hope to return again in the future!! Thank you again Tony for sharing our families vacation home with us!

Fantastic Experience

Villa Mercedes 2 was a great base for our 12-day vacation in Yucatan in early October 2015. The house and its commanding beach-front location gave us the option of spending time getting inspired by the surrounding landscape or exploring the nearby natural and cultural wonders representative of this area of México. The house is tastefully appointed and well equipped to provide all the comforts from home and Gonzalo and Olivia are always ready to take care of any eventualities. We actually had enough time to explore most of the recommended sites that Tony suggested in his welcome package. Here is a summary of three of them where the reader may benefit from our experience: Chichen Itza: Always impressive Mayan city of the classical period. My wife and I visited the site many years ago so we wanted to visit it again. We enjoyed a full day there but would volunteer a few warnings: 1) If your camera looks too professional or if you are carrying a tripod, you will not be allowed entry with your equipment. You have the option to secure it in your car before you enter the site (I did not like this option even if the only reason would have been the heat inside a car’s trunk. 2) You are no longer allowed to climb the pyramids or the other structures; they are off-limits to visitors (that was not the case during our first visit to Chichen Itza and Uxmal many years ago). 3) The souvenir vendors have taken over all surrounding areas to the monuments and reduce somewhat the enjoyment of the site with their constant peddling. Dzibilchaltun: Though a smaller Mayan enclave when compared to Chichen Itza, Dzibilchaltun is still impressive and it is so close to Villa Mercedes 2 that visiting the site is very effortless. It has a very nice cenote within its limits where visitors are allowed to swim. The same restrictions about cameras are also in effect at Dzibilchaltun; after the experience in Chichen Itza, I was prepared this time and avoided taking my DSLR and drone. In addition, in Dzibilchaltun, you are not allowed to enter any bags (backpacks, large purses, etc.). Celestun: A very nice bio-reserve where you can take boat tours of shallow mangrove-lined waterways where flamingos come to socialize by the thousands. Only problem: plan your trip for December or January. Flamingos have other things to do during October and not many of them will be around to greet you. Overall, this was a great vacation for us… We will be back!

Fantastic house and location!!

My husband and I recently spent a week in the Yucatan and had a wonderful trip. We want to thank Tony and his family for sharing their large and beautiful home with us, and to Gonzalo and Olivia for taking care of us while we were there. Dealing with Tony before our arrival was a great pleasure, he communicated promptly, fully and with humor leading up to our trip. Each morning we had coffee on the large patio while listening to the waves and palm frond gently swaying in the breeze. The bed was very comfortable and we had everything was provided for a very luxurious and well appointed holiday. Each day we went for long swims in the bath water temperature gulf, ate nothing but fresh fish and never once turned on a TV. The people of the Yucatan are very friendly and helpful, even to those of us who are not fluent Spanish speakers. I would highly recommend staying at this property (and we already have) and look forward to returning!!

I love Chicxulub me and my family are fishing and water sport fans and the gulf coast is just safe and perfect for it. We are just in love of the people here they are polite and give smile always. Location of the house is just awesome, its close to everywhere. The beach, sun and ocean are just perfect, life is simple and based on seize our everyday here.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

There is nothing like do everything with the background sound of the waves and a fresh sea breeze and if you add the idea to wakeup and go to bed with the peaceful of the ocean is just amazing.
The Master Suite its perfect, stay relaxed at the balcony on a hammock lounge chair or chose to go downstairs to take a fresh dip first in the ocean and then in the pool to relive myself. Listening my favorite music while I’m watching shooting stars its one of the things that I always suggest. Food its just one of the advantages having options like sea food, a great pasta or just fresh fruits or veggies from the market. Gonzalo and Olivia are our caretakers and they are also yours and there for whatever you need but give you all your privacy, he will help you with all you need about the functions of the house and also with the pool cleaning and Olivia could also help you with special recipies of traditional and sea food, just ask them about whatever. Life could be resume in easier, safety and peaceful at Villa Mercedes 2, You are more than welcome to come!!
