Welcome to the mountains! While you enjoy the beautiful wildlife, including deer, fox, squirrels, birds and occasionally a bear, please be aware of the following:

Poison Oak: Wear long pants and sleeves and avoid touching unfamiliar plants within the thick of the property and the surrounding mountain country.
Bugs and Insects: Wear insect repellent to protect against bites.
Ticks: Check for ticks regularly and wear long sleeves and pants.

As with many nostalgic items in our home, we have an antique candy machine that offers two different styles of candy (nut free). They will only deliver candy if you insert quarters.

Safe and easy 10 min walk to the Gasquet Market from the cabin where you will find all your basic essentials.

Our family so enjoyed staying here on our first trip to the Redwoods. The location was perfection - we could have spent 3 more days there!

If you like to cook, the kitchen is great. Most of our time was spent outside hiking. Nice to come back and cook healthy meals.

A beautiful home and property, close to the parks and river and short drive to Crescent City. Although in a rural community it’s a very peaceful and relaxing environment with visiting birds and wildlife. Especially well equipped for home cooked meals and snacks. We will be rent it again.

Big place, beautiful setting. HUGE kitchen, but no real dining area or table. Rustic log furniture seats two, in rather uncomfortable chairs. Stools at kitchen counter also a bit odd, and sat only 4, shoulder-shoulder. Could be furnished a little differently with standard table, and room for 6-8 people. Otherwise, everything was marvelous, with our hosts very inviting, warm, and attentive to our needs and wishes. Gasquet was a perfect setting, and this home was perfectly situated. We would definitely rent again from these lovely folks.

We loved our stay at the cabin and would stay again. It’s very close to the redwoods, and not too far of a drive to Crescent City. It was extremely clean and the beds were very comfortable. It had everything we needed, and we enjoyed the board games!

This property is wonderful - set in such a peaceful environment with easy access to both the Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park area and Crescent City. House was clean & comfortable and the host was most helpful.

Beautiful and inviting home. The surrounding property is very peaceful and fun to explore. Really enjoyed cooking in the open kitchen with all the windows, felt like we were tucked away in the woods. Our 2 year old son loved walking around the property with the friendly neighborhood cats. Communication was prompt when needed and hosts were very kind.

We loved this quiet getaway. The cabin was well stocked and very comfortable. The location was convenient for exploring the Jedidiah Smith Redwood Forest.

Cozy and quiet

We loved our stay here. It’s close to the beaches and the redwoods. Lovely little breakfast restaurant close by. The home had everything we needed for our stay.

Overall, the house has some wonderful features. It includes a massive, well-equipped kitchen with bar seating for four, a small dining table for two, and two very large bedrooms. We found the beds to be very comfortable, and both the bedding and bath towels smelled exceptionally clean.There's a laundry room with an older model washer and dryer that we didn't use but it's a nice perk.However, we did notice a few limitations with the space. The living area is quite small considering the size of the other rooms and the only television in the house is a tiny 27" screen bolted to the wall over the kitchen counter, so we ultimately chose to watch movies on our iPads instead.Lastly, while they weren't a problem for us, the 12 outside steps that guests are required to climb in order to enter the home could be a challenge for some, especially when loading and unloading vehicles requires multiple trips.Even with the few minor inconveniences, we would definitely stay here again as we found the location clean, comfortable and very quiet.

Perfect base camp

We came for the BoatSmith whitewater festival. Gasquet is the perfect location to access the beautiful forks of the Smith River and the cabin is spacious and comfortable.

We had such a lovely time. We came to see the redwoods, and wanted to stay in the trees rather than a condo or hotel in town. This place had everything we needed and was very clean. We enjoyed watching the birds and doing lots of hiking / visiting beaches within a 2 hour drive. We stocked up on groceries about 25 mins away.

Peaceful Cabin in a great location.

We enjoyed everything about this cabin. Beautiful landscaping. Peaceful location. Enjoyed feeding the birds on the deck, smoking some food, exploring the property. Comfortable bed. Extemely clean. Internet was spot on. Host had excellent communication.

The house was very clean and tidy. It was very quiet and peaceful. It was relatively close to all of the things we wanted to see and do. The hot water in the showers was fantastic after a day of hiking in the parks. I loved putting the provided birdseed out on the rail and watching the birds.

Amazing cabin on a large property lot. All of the amenities needed. Blackberries were plentiful and tasty while we were there. Friendly neighborhood cats who visit, along with blue jays that you can feed, and turkeys and ducks nearby. No air conditioning (hit 95 while we were there) but there are fans and can open the windows to cool down in the evening. Close enough to access Crescent City and south into the Redwoods, and Brookings and north to Bandon, OR. Wonderful trip toward the coast through the Jedidiah Redwoods and first glimpse of the large/tall trees if coming in from Medford (airport).
