Welcome to Starlight Ridge Farm!

Looking for a relaxing getaway? This is the place. This charming1902 farmhouse was the Vaden family homeplace for 4 generations. It has been lovingly restored and updated with a brand-new kitchen, bathrooms, and modern conveniences while maintaining its historic charm. The house is 7 minutes from the main entrance to Hanging Rock State Park, 6 minutes from Moore's Springs Manor, and affords a stunning mountain view off the front porch.

Sip coffee from the porch rockers and watch the sunrise over the mountain. Take advantage of our 58 private acres, perfect for long walks and exploring. Spend the day exploring the creeks on the property, tubing the Dan River, or visiting the local state parks. In the evening, enjoy a good book, game, or puzzle by the gas log fireplace, or watch the deer and other wildlife in the fields around the house. End your days by the fire pit, with incredible star gazing and a view of the Milky Way.

There is so much to do minutes from our doorstep - great hiking with panoramic views, waterfalls, mountain bike trails, ziplining, local farm stands, and wineries - something for everyone.

The updated 2000 sq. ft. farmhouse has 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, and accommodates 6-7 people (please note rental rate is based on the number of guests). Master bedroom upstairs with queen bed and private bath; 2 other upstairs bedrooms with 1 queen, 1 full and 1 twin. Fully equipped, modern kitchen. Linens, towels, and paper products furnished. Streaming TV in living room and one bedroom. Dedicated office workspace upstairs. Excellent WiFi. Good cell service.

35 minutes from Winston-Salem, 1 hour from Greensboro, 2 hours from Raleigh & Charlotte.

Host provided thorough directions and necessary information well in advance of our stay. The farm house was well stocked, clean and charming. We loved the fire pit and the weather was perfect for it. We will definitely consider another stay there.

What a great rental!!! The home has everything that you need. Loved the location and the property is absolutely beautiful. Home is very comfortable and so so peaceful! Loved going to John Browns store and hiking around Hanging Rock which is very close to the property. Will definitely be coming back.

For a very relaxing vacation in a beautiful, peaceful location, stay here, you won't be disappointed. You can walk the property, sit on the porch and enjoy the view and wildlife or hike at nearby Hanging Rock SP or Pilot Mountain SP. It is as advertised!

Relaxing weekend getaway

We had a wonderful weekend at this property! The house was cozy and very clean. The owners provided everything you could possibly need! Our dogs loved running around all the open space. We will definitely book another weekend here in the future!

A Wonderful Peaceful Experience

We had a wonderful time. The house had everything we needed (and no scratched-up Teflon pans). The renovations to the old house were really nice- just like on HGTV. The old horse barn and old family cemetery were very interesting. We were close to hiking trails, waterfalls, an art museum, and a couple of really good ice cream shops and restaurants. We want to come back next year.

Soul sister retreat

We absolutely love this place! We had the solitude that we were looking for… And the cutest farmhouse you have ever seen! We were taking pictures of the furniture and decor as inspiration for our own homes! This place is incredibly clean, very well organized, and has everything you need, but not cluttered! The hosts are amazing… they gave you all the information you need and more, clear communication and we knew support was there if we needed it… Which we did not as everything again was so well prepared. Highly recommend!

Great property. great owner!

This is a very comfortable property. The views are spectacular, both daytime and nighttime. All the open space is so nice and not having to worry about traffic sounds and loud neighbors is an uncommon luxury, especially at such an affordable rate. The host is awesome and helpful and the communication, is great! We would stay there again if we visited the area again.

The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, as was the rest of the home. It was lovely. The layout was great. There were blankets for the dogs to keep them from getting hair on the furniture, and there were dog food and water bowls. The jute rugs and all the furniture was functional and comfortable. There were two sitting rooms, one with a TV. There were games and puzzles. It was just so charming. We had the best time. The pictures don't do the home justice. You can see and feel how well loved it is. The rocking chairs and fire pit were a big bonus. We will be back. It was VERY hard to leave.

Zen Get-Away

The property was utterly amazing; beyond what we could have expected. The hosts have taken a lot of time, care and effort to update this wonderful farmhouse with modern amenities while paying homage to the roots of the home and property. A perfect get-away with the solitude of nature, and the backdrop of the mountains. The hosts were attentive in their communication and made us feel very welcome. Such a delight to visit; a home away from home. We enjoyed the weekend immensely, and grateful that we discovered this gem.

Nature retreat

The farmhouse was incredibly clean and the kitchen was well stocked with everything you need (dishes and utensils). You can tell the owners put a lot of care into maintaining the house. The front porch has a great view of the mountain and if you are into bird watching there were chats, cuckoos, buntings, wood thrush and other great birds you could easily see and hear. At dusk the fireflies put on an amazing show, have never seen so many in one spot. Walking around the property there were wildflowers like milkweed, mountain mint. This place is definitely a hidden gem being so close to hanging rock and pilot mountain and being secluded with all the nature on the property. We will definitely book again.

Beautiful, tranquil setting!

This is a beautifully refurbished early 20th century farmhouse on a large and peaceful property. The views are spectacular and the hosts are top notch!
