One of the best houses we're stayed at. Easy access to the two beaches, local wine spot, sweets and seafood was a big hit. One of our boys stayed in the Crows Nest and the other in the Quarterdeck. This spatial ammenity added to our parental peace because instead of the boys exchanging blows after one locked the other in the car trunk, they resorted to glowering at each other from their pirate perches. The pictures don't begin to describe the uniqueness and character that was accomplished by the mad genius that designed the interior. Rugged, comfortable, modern, quirky, cozy and luxurious all play well together at this one of a kind spot.

Address is Otter Rock, not Newport.We loved the property with two fun bunks for our kiddos. The two beaches were gorgeous, and great beginner boogie boarding/surfing on Otter Rock beach. Loved the chowder at Mo’s, bread bowl recommended. Bjs ice cream at nye beach Newport is a must. Abundant blackberries around property and great seashells and agates. Enjoyed back to school shopping at outlets in Lincoln city. Hosts were so responsive and helpful, highly recommended for family vacation.

Amazing gem in a perfect location to enjoy the oregon coast at its finest. The home is cozy and decorated with all the beach feels it was very clean and organized, very spacious, bathrooms were clean and again location is great for discovering and walking to different beach approaches. Hosts were very friendly and accommodating when we connected via phone and text. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful spot! Clean, walkable to beaches and MO’s. Charming nostalgic home. The owners were the sweetest we have every ran across, planning to stay there again and again… LOVED IT

Amazing property close to the beach

My wife and two kids stayed at this property. Check-in was very smooth, and the house had a very fun nautical theme. We were close to multiple beaches that kept us busy all day long. We would definitely stay there again.

I had several issues & the hosts were very prompt in responding. The house itself is very cute & well maintained. It was perfect for me to unwind for a few days. I would definitely recommend it to others & will rent it again! Thank you!

Great location, fun house

The house was great for our family. The kids loved the loft areas. There is so much to do just within walking distance that we did very little driving. It was wonderful.

Memorable

I was working remotely, and this was a perfect place to enjoy the magnificent beauty on morning and afternoon evening walks. This also had an excellent kitchen. The host was very responsive!

Absolutely perfect for Grandma and teens

This roomy house is adjacent to the Devil's Punchbowl State Park, but is in a quiet neighborhood .There were two ways to access the beach/tide pools. The kids loved the sleeping lofts and I loved not having to drive to the beach. That said, there are numerous beaches and State Parks within a few miles. Also an easy drive to supermarkets, restaurants, and amenities. Good dishwasher, washer and dryer. Lots of puzzles and games. We hated to leave.

5js Awesomeness

The property is perfectly situated between two beaches as described. The large deck in the back of the home provides sunshine in the afternoon and wonderful views of the ocean, and is perfect for that afternoon sip of wine and relaxation after a day at the beach or shopping in town. Our granddaughter loved the loft beds, switching between them throughout our stay. Ample room for a family. Internet service was great. We had so much to do the TV was never turned on. Beds/furniture are comfortable and adequate and we especially loved the booth looking over the backyard and deck with views of the coastal trees and ocean. I recommend bringing some folding chairs or lounge chairs for the back patio. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking and eating utensils, pans, and dishes. There is both a coffee maker and Keurig available too. Lots of games, puzzles and books for entertainment, and the owner was quick to respond and very helpful. We look forward to coming back to the 5js for our future visits to this wonderful place along the Oregon Coast!

NOT OCEAN FRONT, 15 minute walk down a path and down the 100 steps to reach the Beach. House can accommodate one couple. Other two beds only accessible via narrow steps and a wooden ladder. Perfect for small children Directions Not clear in the description. Confusing directions for check in. Etc. let down, yeah, that’ll be good Mr. Moose and rice

Bit outdated but beautiful location in

We loved the little enclave of Otter Rock. House is just two blocks from a beach in either direction - either an endless sandy beach or a rugged beach cove. There is a casual seafood restaurant, a coffee/ice cream shop, a winery and a surf shop around the corner. That’s it though - very quiet part of the world. House is cute but furniture is dated and not for everyone. 2 sleeping lofts probably would work for kids - are both open to the living areas with no real privacy and far from the bathroom, so not really suitable for older or larger adults. Our 25 year old son slept in one of them, and it was OK but not ideal. Only proper bedroom is very small - just big enough for the bed and closet. Deck was large but empty - we missed having an outdoor table and comfortable lounge chairs to really enjoy the space. Also missed hangers in the closet (there were none) and beach towels. But overlooking these details, I think for some guests this would be a great little beach house. We never saw the owner but communication was great - very kind and reacted quickly to our questions.

Outside of Newport

Nice quiet location outside of Newport, quiet enough to hear the ocean at night with the window open. Also a short walk to the ocean and cliffs to look for whales.

Stay at the 5Js

This is a great, unique little vacation home in close proximity to the beach and tide pools. Highly recommend staying here. The price is very reasonable, as well. Kids will love it!

Great place!

We hadn't been to the 5Js in awhile and it was so good to be there again. We've always loved the nautical feel of the house, and the open loft design. But we were especially pleased with the upgrades - master half bath, granite countertops and dishwasher in kitchen, huge deck in the back...all that in addition to the great ambience. And as usual, the house was very clean and ready to move right into. While not oceanfront, we love the ocean view and the sound of the surf...there's no doubt that you are relaxing at the beach! The access to both the tidepools at the Marine Gardens and the long stretch of walking beach on the other side makes it so you don't even have to go anywhere else. But it's plenty close to any shopping or services we needed. Making the reservation was easy and the owners were very friendly and informative. We will definitely come again!

We have rented a lot of vacation properties. This is the best ever. Pacific views from three directions, awesome deck and yard, the BEST kitchen ever. All you need and totally modern. And, one block from the beach. I almost did not post because I do not want to compete for my time there. This is the best house on the Oregon coast. Clean, new appliances, best deck and views! Walk to to beaches, watch whales and surfers.
