If you like to stroll, hike, run, bike or swim in the ocean, this condo is close to the beach, parks, running and bike trails. Just about 1-1/2 miles to the beach, youā€™ll be steps away from Fairview Park and Talbert Nature Preserve in Costa Mesa. Youā€™ll be 5 miles from Huntington Beach Pier; 7 miles from Balboa Island; 14 miles from the art colony of Laguna Beach, and only 13 miles from Disneyland. So, what are you waiting for?!!
The ā€œMermaid Loungeā€ has a kitchen, living/dining area, two bedrooms (plus loft), a full bath (Jack and Jill) and a half bath downstairs. With tile throughout, itā€™s okay if you bring in a little beach sand. Upstairs thereā€™s carpeting in the loft next to the walk-in closet and a Ā¾ bath. According to VRBO, the average hotel room is 325 sq. ft. Here you can bring your groceries and spread out in about 1,300 sq. ft. Just right for a maximum of 6 guests. Master bedroom has a king size bed, loft has a queen size, and the ā€œsurf roomā€ has a daybed and twin bed. Add a Pak n Play for little ones at no charge. The kitchen provides what you need for preparing meals with mostly new appliances; use spices, cooking oil, coffee, or anything you can find there. The washer and dryer are just around the corner in the hallway where you'll find all the laundry supplies you will need.
Clean, uncluttered and comfortable, you can unwind here or scurry off to your choice of Southern California attractions. You may even want to sign up for sailing lessons at the Orange Coast College School of Sailing and Seamanship whether you are just starting or have sailed before. You donā€™t have to leave Newport Bay to enjoy a fabulous day on the water. Rent a Duffy boat, order food and beverages or bring your own!
Head through Fairview Park and down the hill to pick up the Santa Ana River Bicycle Trail. Turn left and youā€™re at the beach in about 2.5 miles. Or, turn right and bike the rest of the 30-mile trail to Riverside County.
Oh, and if you play the piano ā€¦bring your music because we have one here!

Since the beginning of this adventure, all guests are asked to sign a one-page Rental Agreement and make a brief phone call to say "hello" and meet the owner, Kathleen, very briefly. You will be staying in my home! Thank you!

We had a great experience at the Mermaid Lounge. Kathleen could not have been more hospitable and made our stay perfect. The accommodation was wonderful. There was lots of room and she had everything we needed plus extras. One shower wasnā€™t working and within 24 hours she had plumbers there to fix it. Itā€™s in a great location just a mile from the beach and she had beach chairs and beach towels for us to use. I would love to stay there again. Thanks Kathleen. Hope you are feeling better.

A Kind Host

These days itā€™s difficult to find good old-fashioned kindness when renting a house. This was such a positive experience thanks to the kindness of the host. I enjoyed chatting with her on the phone to ā€œmeetā€ before we checked in. The house was perfect for our family of 3. Highly recommended!

Huntington Beach get away

We have stayed in Vrbos on both coast and everything in between. Mermaid Lounge did not disapoint us. Everything as advertised and so quiet! Winter storms were no problem with plenty of blankets and good heater. Host was always a text away. Beach, lacrosse fields, stores and restaurants all very close. We will be back! We saw lots of games, toys and beach stuff for kids. This place has it all.

We enjoyed everything about this place. It was even decorated with a small Christmas tree. Easy access to bike paths and short rides to nearby beach towns.

Cozy, Comfortable Place

My daughter, three grandchildren, a fiancƩe and great granddaughter stayed in the condo over Thanksgiving, and it was as close to being at home as you could get away from home. It had everything they needed to have a great holiday. It was also kid-friendly, and everyone enjoyed their stay. Kathleen was very accommodating in making the home available when they arrived. Would highly recommend it for anyone traveling to the area.

Very clean and comfortable townhome in a quiet neighborhood close to beach and OC theme parks.

Our family of 6 adults really enjoyed our stay here. It was very clean and comfortable. Kitchen had what we needed to fix meals. It is close to the beach and a reasonably short drive to Disneyland. There is a river trail for walking close by. The neighborhood was very quiet. It was perfect for our needs.

Wonderful Home!

Where to start! Arrived after midnight and key was in designated location. Home is well laid out and everything you need is there. Extra linens, towels ... We used this as a central location for wedding celebrations around LA, as well as going towards San Diego. Locale beaches/tide pools/whale watching are great. Kathleen was wonderful and when we return to So Cal we will seek this excellent rental out!

Perfect place for us

This property was clean and perfect for the four of us. It has three bathrooms-2 have showers, which is great. The owner made the check-in process very easy and was very quick to respond to messages. The beach pass was a great treat. It is centrally located to Disneyland and Universal Studios as well as the beach. Highly recommend this property.

Landing spot for move from overseas

My daughter and her family were moving back to the states and Newport Beach and we all needed a fully furnished and stocked place to land for 9 nights while getting their home ready. This was the perfect spot. We mixed in fun on Huntington Beach, Laguna Beach and Disneyland . The shelves of kids books, beach toys and close neighborhood park plus state park trails for morning runs made this a very comfortable and easy place for my crew. The beds were very comfortable. Our host was super responsive and very attentive to all our needs and any questions. There are so many wonderful places to eat close by - Moongoat coffee, Fermentation Farm and Avilaā€™s.

Perfect relaxing retreat

We arrived at the property around 8 pm due to a late flight. Kathleen met us at the house and made sure we got settled in. While our daughter and 3 grandkids spent time at Knottsberry Farm and 6 Flags, my husband and I spent time at the beach. The house is conveniently located minutes from Hunnington and Newport Beach. The beach pass provided by Kathleen came in very handy at Hunnington Beach. The house is well equipped with beach chairs, towels, umbrella and beach toys that the kids enjoyed. The house is cozy and comfortable. Kathleen was a perfect host making sure we had what we needed to make our stay memorable. We would definitely stay here again.

Close to Everything and SO PERFECT

It is the absolute perfect location and price for any family trip to California. It has easy access to the beach and the major freeways. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. Kathleen is the most wonderful hostess you could ever ask for. She genuinely cares about your vacation and does everything she can to make it perfect and memorable. The house is loaded with everything you need for a beach trip, and it couldn't be more spotless and yet homey at the same time. Loved every minute of it!!

Grandma, girlfriend, sailor, traveler, retired Sales Manager, I am rarely home so why not share a nice place to stay for travelers. At various times my guy, family and I have used VRBO to enjoy the country from Cape Cod, Massachusetts, to Bend, Oregon. We enjoy the weather here in Southern California the most, and there are so many things to do!

Close to the beach, sailing, Disneyland, and so many attractions! One of my favorite things about my property (for myself and guests) is that it's nestled among the trees in a small, quiet, safe complex with very nice neighbors. Fairview Park, a natural park, is about 200 yards from my front door. Talbert Nature Preserve, below the bluffs, is accessible through Fairview Park.

Guests have use of my California State Beach Parking Pass. This may be used as many times per day as you wish each day at the nearest beach, Huntington State Beach. If you pay per visit without a pass, the fee is $12.00 - $15.00. It may also be used at several California State Beaches. There is a charge if the pass is lost or stolen.
