The property was in a nice setting, but the establishment was not clean and there was a mouse or rat in the kitchen and in the attic. While it is understandable that mice try to come indoors during the fall, if the access points into the home were correctly sealed, they would not have gained entry. There was a pan of grease left in the oven, the refrigerator/washing machine/ dryer/ freezer were not wiped clean. There were linens left in the dryer. The floors, baseboards and windows were dirty. The sofa in the living room was soiled. The heating vents were full of lint and hair. There was a disturbing amount of hair on my socks from walking around without my shoes on the wood floors. The light fixture in the bathroom was moldy and those in the kitchen & dining room had cob webs. The curtains were soiled and tattered and the curtain facing the neighbor did not offer any privacy and their floodlight at night shined into the dining room. It would have been nice to know that the property was on well water. On a positive note, the beds & pillows were comfortable & the sheets were clean. There were plenty of plates, silverware & mugs. The shower had immediate hot water. We did not receive information regarding the check in process 3 days before but did get a response to the email sent the day before. She brought traps to try and catch the mouse/ rat & took care of the pan of grease. She did ask if we needed anything to which we responded “no”. She left us 6 bottles of H2O.
