82 sq meter apartment in Bairro Alto, with 2 rooms: one dbl, one single and a sofa/bed for 2. Sleeps 5. LCD HD TV, with 4 sports channels, free internet. Fully equipped with hair dryer and a Nesspresso coffee machine. The dinner table sits 6. Some English books. The street is really quiet. A second floor with good stairs, but no lift. Well decorated and cosy. Linen and towels are included except beach towels. All rooms with windows except bathroom, so there is a lot of light. Old restored building dating from the 19th century. Tiles unique to the owner family.A very typical old Portuguese build

Es un apartemente amplio, incluso para 5 personas, y muy bien ubicado. Está cerca de dos importantes estaciones de tren: de la estación de Rossio para poder ir a Sintra y de la estación de Cais do Sodré para para poder ir a la playa (por ejemplo Estoril o Cascais). Se encuentra en un barrio muy tranquilo y seguro, pues en la misma calle hay una comisaría de policia. Está cercano a una zona de bares para poder salir de noche.
El apartamente está muy bien equipado: televisión, DVD, acceso internet, cocina con horno, microondas, frigorífico, etc. Nada más llegar se ofrecen un par de móviles para poder llamar entre ellos y poder llamar a la dueña del piso, así como un GPS para poder moverse por la zona con el coche.
El trato fue excelente y creemos que por todo lo que se ofrece es un buen precio. (Maria Jose- Spain)

'We stayed at Aida's apartment in October/November 2010 for one week. The apartment is lovely! It is spacious and Aida has made it very homely. All facilities are modern and function properly. Lovely lounge with TV/DVD player, books, dvds and dining facilites plus comfy sofa. Kitchen very well equipped - including a NESPRESSO coffee maker! 2 lovely, comfy and well furnished bedrooms and a modern bathroom.
It is a lovely space and very much a home-from-home experience.
Apartment is well located - five minutes walk to shops, supermarket and gorgeous bakery/coffee shops. Portugese cakes are fabulous!!
The main town is 10 minutes walk away as is the railway station. Metro is about 5 minutes from the apartment. The police station is two doors down from the apartment so it is nice and quiet!!
We loved Lisbon. It is an interesting and vibrant city, but I think our stay was all the better for the lovely apartment. I would recommend it without reservation.' Carole

Aida was Incredible… we locked ourselves out first night … lost a cell phone… and more. She was one of the best hosts I have experienced on any siteand helped us save our sanity and trip.The apartment is exactly as pictured and moreWell stocked with everything you will need. The house is very comfortable. It has a great layout, in a great location, with a great owner. Aida’s care for her property is obvious in its cleanliness, her clear explanations, and the walking tour she gave of recommended nearby shops and restaurants. We stayed at 4 locations during our time in Portugal and this was easily our favorite accommodation. We would absolutely stay again if we returned.

We had a wonderful six day stay in Lisbon. The apartement is convenient and well equipped and although the shops, restaurants and bars are just a few minute walk away, the street and the flat is very quiet. The only problem we had is the steepness of the street as in rains cars/cabs cannot go up on the slippery road to the entrance, so we had to walk a few meters with our luggages. Aida is a wonderful, attentive host, she really made our vacation unforgettable. Thank you for your kind hospitality!

Great space for family!

Aida was a wonderfully kind and thoughtful host who made us feel right at home, even walking the neighborhood with us to show us around. While most places in Lisbon were walkable from there, anything further was just a quick and inexpensive Uber ride away. A great stay all around!

Very enjoyable stay

Very spacious clean flat in a good location. Stairs quite steep and winding. Comfortable beds. Can be quite noisy at times especially at weekend.. overall a nice place to stay. Very safe .

Wonderful apartment in great location

We spent 2 wonderful weeks using Aida’s apartment as home. The apartment was great, excellent location, excellent facilities. And Aida was an outstanding host, educating us on area restaurants, unique bars, local gardens, transportation hubs, grocery markets, etc. We highly recommend this apartment.

Great location, just like living there!

We met our host, Aida, at the apartment, and she gave us a quick tour of the apartment and the neighborhood, which was very helpful. The apartment had everything we would need to cook, do laundry, and she even left guidebooks and umbrellas. We loved it and recommend it to friends!

Our week in lisbon

When we arrived at the property, the host was unfortunately detained, but arrived eventually The stairs were a little steep, but the outside street in the evening had lots of lights inside the apartment, it was very nice having air-conditioning in both the bedroom and in the living room The essentials were provided which Was very nice Lots of very good restaurants within the area

Lovely stay in Lisbon

We appreciated how responsive Aida was to all of our questions. She was extremely helpful. She even took us on a tour of the neighborhood to point out the best places to eat and shop. The apartment is very comfortable, quiet and centrally located. Close to restaurants, public transportation and the heart of the city.

Absolutely Perfect

Great Location Very Clean Amazing host Excellent Value All the things you are looking for in a VRBO are here. I travel with my kids and she even walked us around to let us know where the essentials were. It is really an amazing location , close to metro, tram, and walking distance to so many things. The space was beautiful and clean and we really appreciated everything! Would recommended and come again for sure!

Great neighborhood, but the barking dog was not cool when trying to sleep

Nice place to stay because we could walk everywhere.....we did not have Wifi..the issue might have been bigger then we were told....not sure???

indeed the issues was/is bigger than I thought. It involved all the neighbourhood. After working 3 days, outside, the technicians, changing cables, I still have the same problem. I've been there today and I will be there tomorrow, waiting for a technician , again. I offered you to buy an hotspot to try to solve the problem and you declined. I praise you for all the understanding. and I thank you a lot, although the problem was really outside my power.

just what we needed...

The apartment was in the perfect location and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The block was super quiet but was only one block away from all the fun and bars. Aida was great and showed us where everything was and even took me on a little walk to show me where the grocery store, metro etc were. She was easy to contact and had pastries for us upon arrival which we really needed. I would totally recommend staying here.

Central but quiet

Aida welcomed us with fresh tarts, then a short walking tour of the neighbourhood, including the nearby supermarket, restaurants, pharmacy, and metro/subway stop. The apartment is bright, spacious, fully-equipped, and comfortably-furnished.Although just one block off a main street, and on the edge of the lively Bairro Alto district, there was very little street noise or traffic. Top marks on all counts.

Home away from home

This is a great place and convenient to visit the historical area. Aida was very gracious in accommodating us to check in very early as we arrived in the morning. It is a home away from home with amenities as if it was a personal home including digital tv and dvds. The beds were all very comfortable and the bathroom very clean. Water pressure is great. The location is quiet as it's not on the main road. The apt building is generally quiet but being an older building, expect some sounds to travel between apts or if someone is yelling outside. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Couldn't have been better

We were greeted by the hostess and introduced to the apartment and the neighborhood. We were shown where to buy essentials and the nearby offerings. Any problems were addressed immediately and resolved quickly. The apartment was comfortable and all the essentials were provided. The washer was a great addition. The location was incredible. We had access to the metro, cable cars, funicular and plenty of coffee shops, bars and restaurants.

Fantastic time in Lisbon

Excellent location, apartment matched the listing 100%, and the host Aida was fantastic! Host- we got lost coming off the metro, so I texted Aida. She came to find us and walked us back to the apt....all the while pointing out neighborhoof bakeries and resturants we might enjoy! She ensured we were comfortable in the flat, answered all questions and was always available via text if needed. Apt.-safe, secure,clean and functional. Beds were comfortable, shower pressure wonderful and the kitchen fully stocked( dishes, pans, toaster etc. ) Location- lower Barrio Alta was a perfect location ! We were able to easily walk to other areas or metro as needed. It was also close to several wonderful resturants including incredible vegan options. Highly recommend this fla I would hihgly

Beautiful Property and Aida was Awesome to Work With

This property is in an excellent part of old town. You can walk every where and it is beautifully updated, comfortable and well appointed. Aida was awesome to work with. She took the time to meet us, walk around town with us and show us great restaurants, coffee shops and grocery outlets. She even pointed out the best place to buy coffee to take back to the flat. We rented a car and she showed us where to find the closest parking garage for securing it when not in use. You can find limited parking on the streets but you may have to circle around for awhile. We will keep Aida's info on hand for future trips. She made the trip memorable and comfortable for us, great lady!

A nice quiet place in a busy area...

Aida was there to great us. She showed me the neighborhood, which was nice. there was plenty of room for the 5 of us, including a crib for our 2-year old. Keep in mind that it's a 3rd story walk up. A stop for Tram 28 is right around the corner (200 meters). The Tram that takes you down to Cais de Sodre is right next to that stop. It was all just really solid. Nothing fancy but nice. I feel confortable recommending a stay here. There are some small repairs that Aida should get taken care of soon. Two door handles came off but re-attached easily. I couldn't figure out the A/C, which might have been me. The bathroom sink faucet was loose.

Comfortable stay in central location

My husband and I stayed here for a few days at the beginning of October. It was comfortable and clean, and we were thrilled to have a washing machine rather than having to drag everything to a laundromat. At check-in, Aida showed us how everything worked in the apartment, and even gave us a quick tour of the neighborhood, pointing out grocery stores, pharmacies, etc, which was very helpful. She even had a couple of pastéis de nata waiting for us. Communication during our stay was easy, as was check-out. The apartment is in an ideal location for exploring the older parts of Lisbon since it is just a couple blocks from the Baixa-Chiado metro station and one of the trolley stops. Fair warning if you have mobility issues: The neighborhood has mostly cobblestone streets and sidewalks paved with small flat paving stones called calçadas. It is up on a hill, but you can use elevators, funiculars, and the escalators in the metro station to go up and down. Also, this apartment is up two flights of spiral staircase, and we didn't notice an elevator in the building. So even if you can make the climb, pack light! The neighborhood was often crowded and could get kind of noisy at night. We'd recommend walking around the area in the morning when it's less crowded, and keeping the windows closed at night.

Obrigada pelo seu feedback. No site vem claramente escrito que só há um banheiro. Não tem um tapete antiderrapante, que já houve, mas foi considerado por muitos, anti-higiénico. Quanto aos assoalhos, há que lembrar que o apartamento está num edifício de muita idade: registado em 1920, mas construído muitos anos antes. Um segundo espelho será colocado logo que possível. Espero que tenham gostado da vossa estadia

the location is excellent in a quiet street in Bairro Alto. There are no bars, restaurants or shops in the street but they are in a walking distance. It is so quiet that some customers 'complain' that they oversleep the first night. It is an apartment with lots of day light and sun
