We're sorry that anyone would have to experience this, as the guest has said, the home is in a quiet country neighborhood that is surrounded by farms, big lots, trees and wildlife. As newer owners, this was the first time we had heard of this issue. The guest notified us on day 3 of their stay & we IMMEDIATELY ADDRESSED it as the guest's review confirmed and began the process of correcting the situation. A pest control tech was sent over the NEXT day and the tech told us it was NOT an infestation, it was a single incident, that was centralized to a specific part of the kitchen area (it wasn't like the movie Ratatouille) and the type of pest was most likely a small rodent, then we began the process of resolving the problem. We consistently communicated with the guests, we immediately refunded monies back and i personally went to the home to help oversee the process of clean up, repair and future prevention from this happening again. The tech said the breach was a result of two issues, a man made hole behind the stove that wasn't closed up after the home was renovated AND the RECORD COLD SPELL that has been happening in Florida, resulted in the invitation for our uninvited (and unpaying😉🐭) guest. The situation has now been fully corrected with proactive measures to stop this in the future.We pride ourselves for our care of the home & providing an incredible experience and communication with our guests and our reviews always confirm that. Obviously we want to take care of ANY of our guests that are staying in the home. While Julia (who was the booking guest & we had FULL COMMUNICATION with throughout her stay) was very nice and we addressed every issue she brought during the stay (only two she discussed were the missing crib (which was immediately resolved) and the light switch issue was noted to us on the second day, we said we would try to get an electrician over ASAP, but until then, could they trip the breaker to sleep, we never heard back from her about it, so we assumed it was taken care of. Then AFTER they checked out, this guest who left this review (who is NOT the paying or booking guest, Julia, FYI, it is her brother and somehow he was able to leave this 2 MONTHS after the actual stay...) was not the person we had communication with, we ALWAYS take care of our guests and we are sorry that this guest had a bad experience, we ask for feedback on every stay, that's the only way we can IMPROVE for the next guests. So all of their concerns have been corrected and/or addressed (a few are completely crazy & not true, like the fact that we have ALL QUEEN beds in there, always have and never had anyone question that, but again, this was NOT the booking guest, this is from someone that wanted to be difficult, so unless Amazon/Target are also in on it, because we only buy QUEEN linens for the beds, then this is another NON-issue). We appreciated Julia and I would host HER again, just not her brother. TY
