This 17 room Colonial Estate is charmingly decorated throughout, and features a large kitchen and utility room with new appliances, large outdoor grill, fire pits, wrap around porch, sunset deck, large patio, pond, walking trail, four or more bedrooms, and two and a half baths, with a detached shower on main level. There is a small library and 3 dining areas on main floor. Upper floor meeting rooms can be converted to sleeping rooms, should the need arise, to accommodate a large group.

Excellent Property

Family Reunion

Quaint House Close to Topeka

My group loved this property. Plenty of space to meet, sleep and eat. We loved the house with it's classic country feel and the annex was spacious and cool on hot summer days. Shelly was beyond helpful and went out of her way to make sure we had a productive and fun stay! We would definitely stay here again!

Very nice, love the farmhouse setting. Very relaxing and out of the way for peace and quiet. Wish we were able to spend more time relaxing there.

Successful Family Reunion

We had a great time at this very pretty old rustic well maintained country home. It is just gorgeous. Shelley was very attentive and a pleasure to deal with. We would definitely recommend to others!

Family reunion

We recently had our family reunion at this location. Everyone had a great time and was comfortable with their stay. The yard was perfect for kids to run around and play and the porch was nice and relaxing. It was very clean and the owner was easy to reach in case there were any questions. We would highly recommend staying at this beautiful estate!

K-State Homecoming

We were a family and friends group coming to celebrate K-State Homecoming. The floor plan was great, 5 bedrooms for all the adults and a large third floor space for all the teenagers to have their own space. Beautiful setting and easy drive to Manhattan.

Beautiful setting

The house was breath of fresh air from the everyday city life. So peaceful and the scenic view of the hillside was the cherry on the icing. Image driving down a long driveway to a big house with a wraparound porch. This was it !The house is very cozy and filled with beautiful antiques. We loved the stay so much and the playground was great for the young kids. Hope to visit again soon.

Perfection

This Beautiful Home was perfect for our large family. It was stocked with pantry goods that I have always had to provide myself which made it very nice. We had enough space for all of the children and they absolutely loved it. We're ALL still talking about it! We had several inches of beautiful snow which brought back sweet memories of growing up in Topeka. We hope to return again...SOON !!!

Space to breathe and share.

A great big place with much room for our group to visit, play, eat and wander. We spent as much time as possible on the porches. Loved the A/C. quite comfortable with privacy and lovely vistas.

Room to roam.

All guests enjoyed the property as it gave everyone space to roam around. We enjoyed everything from the spectacular views of the sunsets in the evenings from the fire pit to the large wrap-around porch where we could gather and visit. If you enjoy the farm life and want to have a place where you can get outside and explore this is the place.

Great Place!

We had a great time staying here with family. I was large and clean and had everything we needed. The large dining room was a plus for the larger family gathering we had.

Family Reunion

The house was just perfect for our family for the weekend. It was big enough that we could have separate groups visiting, playing games, resting, etc. yet still close enough we all felt like one connected group. We loved the location, scenery, and everything was easy to find in the house. It was close to a store for those forgotten items, yet felt remote. Everything was clean and well set up. The kids really enjoyed the playground and small walks around. Everyone in our group of 13 was saying they wanted to return in the future.

Family fun in Kansas

With a large family living all over the country and a wedding in Kansas, we needed a large place that we could all hang out together and relax and visit. What a beautiful and fun place to stay! There were accommodations for each of us and a special place to get away from the crowded gathering. My only regret is that we didn’t have more time to enjoy the outdoors. I can’t wait to visit again and stay a bit longer! Thanks for the perfect place for all of our kids and grandkids to come together for a much needed reunion!

Exceeded Expectations

This home was perfect for our family gathering! You can tell the house has been so well cared for and maintained. It was clean and had so many hospitable touches. There was plenty of space, and we absolutely adored sitting out on the front porch. The rooms were beautifully decorated and felt so homey. We loved playing the piano too. We are excited to come back and gather again there soon!

Country Estate felt just like home

I wanted to stay in this house forever! From the rocking chair on the wrap-around porch, to the spacious bedrooms, this house has it all. Old houses have so much charm, and stories to them, this one is definitely one for the books. The huge yard made for some great family memories from playing corn hole to hopscotch and an impromptu dance party for the granddaughter.

Stayed while attending a friends wedding.

The house is an amazingly built older home. Very warm feel to the house with some fresh updates. We shared the house with my sister in law and her family. She has small children. Her review : Loved it! Such a neat place and countryside around it. Very convenient right beside the highway. Easy stairs for little kids.

This recently renovated, charming Country Estate was purchased by my grandparents in 1949 to expand their farmland. As a lifelong Topekan, I like to share this special place with others. This home has been modernized and updated over the past several years, and is waiting to be enjoyed by families and groups looking to escape from the chaos of daily life, and relax in a comfortable, yet spacious setting. The Barns can also be rented for dancing, receptions, large reunion groups and other social events.

Just take a few minutes to sit and watch the sunset over the Flint Hills, or listen to the sounds of the songbirds in the day, or the crickets, coyotes, and other country critters in the evening, and you will discover the beauty that exists hidden in this part of Kansas. We are a 15 minute drive from Topeka, where lots of restaurants, theaters, recreation facilities, and shopping abound! There are also 3 Wineries nearby, with tasting rooms and gift shops to enjoy.
