This guest house sits on a five acre property on a hill near Tangerine Road & First Avenue in Oro Valley. No neighbors, great views, and privacy but within two miles of the best shops and restaurants in town. We're also in the safest location in the city.

You have your own parking space, high-speed internet, cable TV + smart TV apps (Netflix, HBO, etc), a full bath, laundry room, extremely comfortable queen bed, full kitchen, and outdoor space with BBQ grill, fire pit and picnic table.

Sanctuary on the edge of chaos.

Nice and nestled. Close enough to all of anyone’s entertainment and shopping needs. While at the property it is pure peace and nature.

Great location

I loved the location of this casita. Close to everything I needed in Oro Valley. The parking was a bit tricky when another car was parked close by making it hard to turn around and backing up was difficult along the long, gravel driveway. The outside seating area was beautiful. The inside was dark and not as clean as I prefer, but ok.

Charged for something we didn't do.

There's no dishes. Hardly any towels. Issue with black widows and we got charged for damage we didn't do. But they've clearly had a problem because there are patches all over the wall where the recliner is. Won't stay here again.

Quiet and safe

Great stay in a quiet, safe area. It was magical watching sunrise and sunset over the Catalinas, especially with the east-facing patio. The giant bathtub was great for an epsom salt soak, and we made use of the full kitchen including blender!

Extremely Disappointing - Avoid

Owner is attempting to charge us for damages that never occurred, and yet when we disagreed, he accused us of being psychotic. Here is our correspondence: It's interesting how you accuse anyone who dares complain about your property of being insane or psychotic. Interesting consistency. And your place was not cleaner when we arrived as the dirt in the corners of the rooms, especially the bathroom, will attest. We cleaned it ourselves to feel more comfortable walking barefoot out of the shower. We were going to leave a forgiving and polite review, but now the truth is more appropriate. We have many reviews from places in which we actually stayed - cooked and entertained and spent time - and all have given us appropriately positive reviews because we do leave places as clean, if not cleaner, than we find them. In your place, we slept, showered and left to be with local family. If this is the consequence of using your place, we strongly - strongly - discourage anyone from considering it. There are many other options in the area. Very disappointedly, Aimee and Lonnie

Simple casita, minimal provisions (ie pans, plates, cups, glasses). We were warm & dry and loved the location. Perfect for a no-frills stay.

Basic home with great views

My cousin and I checked in for a weekend and were very happy with our stay. The steps to get in the home and wear to park were very clear. There are 2 rentals on the homeowners property. Both have great views of the mountains. Birds and lizards are abundant outside. The home has your bases covered with the basics. If you need additional toilet paper and things like that, you will have to buy it yourself. The house rules clearly state this, so it should not be a surprise. The kitchen is stocked with basic supplies. The house is small and has ac units in the bedroom and living room. The unit in the bedroom runs loud, however the house temperature stayed comfortable. To me this was the perfect spot for our girls trip. We were out and about most of the day, so we simply used it for sleep. I would recommend staying here as the owner did respond immediately when we needed an extra set of sheets and was very nice. The price of the stay should align with your expectations. The cost is wonderful and the home was maintained well.

Nice Stay in Oro Valley

Nice comfortable place with all the essentials. This is a small guest house that was perfect for my husband and me and our dog for a 4-night stay. Everything was in good working order, a little bit of everything as far as kitchen and bathroom essential needs, comfortable bed, quiet area. All kinds of shopping nearby and a nice park (Naranja) with a good off-leash dog park. My only (minor) complaint was having to back out of the 250 foot long gravel driveway as the only place to turn around was mostly occupied with another vehicle. This wasn’t so much of an issue during the day but at night or early morning it could be a bit dicey.

Yard is not secure

I would have rated our stay higher but I specifically asked the owner prior to renting if the yard was secure (meaning gated) so that my dog could be without a leash and I was told it was but that wasn’t the case. The actual casita is very dated and in need of some care and updates but it was expected for the price.

Gorgeous view, good value.

We stayed last year, and returned again. This is a guest house behind the main house on several acres with a gorgeous view of the mountains. Until another guest house was built last year across the yard there were no obvious signs of civilization from the porch, but a couple strip malls are just a few blocks away.

Beautiful Property

We had a nice, quite time staying here and loved the area. The property is very lovely! Catalina State park is near by and great for hiking. Our dog was very relaxed and enjoyed the openness.

Hands down MOST HORRIBLE

No WiFi 1st 24 hours, no cold water, fall on loose gravel injured knee and wrist. Day 2 big flood in the small casita ruined belongings , strong smell mold. Handyman confirmed roof problem and water in house weeks before my arrival. Owner told me to either clean up he flood or step over it. I had to leave to go to my new job at local hospital 4 paperwork Told handyman I would return soon. My 3 golden retrievers stayed in the semi effective air conditioned casita, then started getting threatening texts from owner saying I had abandoned dogs therefore he was taking them to the pound And called police. I would NEVER abandon my beloved service dogs. I called police as I turned back. They had the owner stop taking the animals to the pound. Owner said I violated vrbo rules on number of dogs, then said I violated vrbo rules to not leave dogs in casita. I took a photo of the casita rules and it doesn’t mention any of these “ rules” it was over 100 degrees outside and when I returned he had 2 of them on their leashes in the hot sun, stated he found them in the desert wandering around. The 3rd dog-was tied up to a tree all tangled up with no food nor water within reach. Let 2 on leashes go leaving them alone, he was way out of line going in and taking my service dogs filming me inside casita and calling police. He was so threatening and frightening this text he sent after I told him I had cleaned the casita and leaving keys “ You’re welcome you crazy, demanding, lonely and thoroughly unpleasant Bxxch. I have video also - your dogs on furniture and run rampant in the house, having been abandoned by you. Does Banner know about the type of person they’ve hired? Maybe I’ll talk to them” I packed up left as fast as possible, several days later after calmed from his threats visited police & showed them his texts, they uploaded all to the report amendment. Note, no posted rules about the number of dogs nor leaving them in the casita while renter is out. Police confirmed never told owner take dogs to pound owner- “ It’s not safe to leave dog’s unattended and the police said I should remove them ” “ You have three dogs that have been left unattended and are in direct violation of VRBO rules I called the police and animal control to have the dogs removed and taken to a place where they will be safe. The police will ensure that you leave peacefully as soon as you return. I have documented that the animals are alone and on the furniture” / untrue.

very good guess house

The guess house was in a great location, quiet, near shopping, gas, and good views. Virgil the host was very good, I had questions; he answered them, I needed something; he brought it over, I had an issue and he took care of it quickly and very pleasant. The house had everything it listed and Virgil made it easy to check in and out. Overall my wife and I will be returning and staying here again when we return next year. Thank you Virgil again for a great stay.
