Adorable three bedroom lake house - pure relaxation!

This two story house on a small lake is the perfect getaway spot! Enjoy lazy days fishing, swimming or strolling around town. Perfect for family get-togethers or getaways! You will discover that your hosts are friendly and welcoming, but do not interfere with your privacy. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The large kitchen can seat up to 6 people, and the large side-by-side refrigerator freezer has plenty of room for all your food and beverages (and there is an icemaker). The bathrooms are modern and meticulously clean, with plenty of towels and washcloths. The new washer and dryer, located in the kitchen, make it easy to do laundry while enjoying your vacation or business trip to Kankakee County! Manteno is a charming town and you will love our small town diners. We also have Subway, McDonald's, Wendy's, 2 Mexican food restaurants, Chinese, Gyros, and many pizza places. Just 5-6 miles south of Manteno you can find Cracker Barrel, Olive Garden, Buffalo Wild Wings, Noodles, Texas Road House, Tucci's Italian, Lone Star, Panera Bread, and more. If shopping is your favorite thing you wil also find Kohl's, Target, Marshall's, Ross, Dick's Sporting Goods, Carson's, JC Penney, Office Max, Staples, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Hobby Lobby, Michael's and more. Movies 10 plays current hit films at the Northfield Square Mall 6 miles from here. There are also 2 theaters in Kankakee, Meadowview Theater and the Paramount Theater.

Best VRBO stay we've ever had

This cottage was the most homey and comfy place we've ever rented! The neighborhood is great, the house is adorable (the pictures don't do it justice! So charming!) and the BEDS!!! Oh my goodness, I'm usually excited to get home to my own bed, but not this time! The pillows and linens were all wonderful quality. There really is everything you need at this house; tons of extra linens, beach towels, fluffy bath towels, plenty of kitchen staples (I think that depends on what previous guests leave), but SO convenient! It is a fantastic place to get away for a few days and just relax. Lots of cute places to go within driving distance and a totally reasonable drive into the city. The check in and out processes were both super simple too! Can't recommend Annette and Rhondy's place highly enough! I really hope we get to stay with them again sometime.

Wonderful Weekend

Our family was comfortable and had plenty of room to have space without being crowded. My teen boys loved using the paddle boat to go between both homes we’d rented for the weekend.

A very cozy house

Relaxing Lakeside, inside and Out

This lovely home is quite large. We came here to end our 11 day vacay to rest for a couple of days!! We did just that! We used Instacart to order in snacks and food to cook. Such hospitable husband and wife team, who greeted us with banana bread and outside as well after we settled in! It was obvious they cared about us having a wonderful stay! I chose to read a book rather than get in the lake, but another day and I might have! I keep thinking of the word spacious! With the living room/sitting room at the entrance of the house, and family/livingroom with many places to sit there is a place for a good sized family to stay here, spread out in different rooms as needed, and outdoors, at the lake, in the lake or walking in this very walkable neighborhood! One of the safest places I've stayed at! Cupboards are stocked with other spices, and canned foods as well! You get a lot here, and I highly recommend you consider making this 'your place' if you are looking for lakeside, family friendly lake time, a place to relax or burn off some energy!! Whether rainy or sunny, you have a great place to have your home away from home!

Lakefront relaxation

This was a perfect retreat to relax, unwind and de-stress. The house was exactly what we needed while in town. Perfect location to downtown Manteno, the beach, and so many restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay.

Everything needed for family time together

We had a relaxing and comfortable stay with everything we could ever need. It allowed us the opportunity to see many family members while visiting while have all the comforts of home. Wonderful Home and Area

Wonderful property. Very clean & Very quiet during my stay. The owners made check in and check out painless and extremely easy. The downtown and beach club areas are within walking distance and are really cool :) , I definitely will be staying here again on any business or family trips.

Fabulous "tropical" vacation

Since I can't travel more than ~ 1 hour, due to health issues, this was the greatest vacation we can do. A great shutout to the owner for all the special touches to make our vacation fabulous and memorable. This is a very special lake side vacation with all the trimmings and a lovely community with weekend events. Thank for letting us stay at your place. We will remember this one forever.

Great experience. This cottage is special. It has fantastic history. The lake is gorgeous. Beds were very comfortable. We are very grateful for the care put into this experience. Homemade banana bread to greet you. Then to come back after a long day to the outside set up. Very grateful.

Great weekend!

This house is so cute! There was plenty of space for everyone to relax and visit with each other. The fire pit was perfect! The banana bread was delicious (can I have the recipe?!?). Manteno is adorable- we walked to a pizza place and out for breakfast. Thanks for a great stay!

End of summer fun!

Great Getaway

We enjoyed being able to use the yard for games and a bonfire. We also loved the boats and fishing gear provided. We would suggest a few more baking sheet pans for cookies, etc. Also, we would have like the door on the main floor to stay shut. We had a great time!

TOO NICE TO PASS UP!

Everything we needed was provided for in this very nice cottage located on the water. The location was convenient to downtown eateries, lounges and shopping. Oktoberfest festivities were festive and entertainment abundant to pick from. The bedding and furniture were all comfortable, and of appreciable quality. All in all we would recommend this property.

Cozy Cottage

I stayed at this property with my mom, brother, sister-in-law and nephew. The house was clean, spacious with comfortable beds, nice common areas and a great view of a small lake from the backyard. It was very well equipped with essentials, paper products, linens, etc. The neighborhood was quiet (except a few passing trains) and we felt very safe. The hosts were gracious without being intrusive. We felt very welcome. My only negative note is that the two upstairs bedrooms are linked. You have to walk through the queen bedroom to enter the second and there is only a curtain instead of a door between them. In other words privacy could be an issue for some renters. This aspect of the top floor was not shown in the photos or text provided. Still, I would stay there again!

short getaway!

We were very pleased with everything. we came to fish and were not disappointed. We only do dock fishing and Ron gave a lot of tips for the best catch. It was clean, quiet and relaxing. And the banana bread was a delicious surprise.

Great Grace Place!

Grace Place was beautiful. The cottage was comfortable and well stocked. We had a very relaxing weekend. The rain cut our fishing time short but allowed us time to relax together as a family. We enjoyed the time with our grand daughter, son and daughter-in-law. We recommend PJ's for ice cream if you stay and the Mayberry restaurant has very good food.

Summer nights

Born and raised in this town, it was great to re-experience the warm, breezy, summer nights, and the very hot days. The lake is a great view all day and allowed a little exercise with the paddle boats. The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable and clean.

Members of the Manteno Chamber of Commerce,we are active members of our community and were named Citizens of the Year in 2012.
We founded a volunteer committee of Manteno residents ten years ago to preserve our village owned golf course. The 'Save Our Golf Course, Inc' committee has been in charge of the management of the Manteno Golf Club and Learning Center for the past 8 years. It is a beautiful and well-maintained 18 hole golf course on the east side of Manteno.To book a tee time call 815 468-8827

Our investment property is on the very street we grew up on. We are located in a quiet neighborhood on the north side of town and we still share our quiet street with lifelong neighbors. Our cozy location presents the relaxing views of our small lake. We think it is the perfect 'home away from home.'
