Charming 'Nantucket' Style Beach Cottage

Spacious 1 bedroom 'Nantucket' style cottage just steps from the beach on one of the nicest lanes in Ventura. This charming 1,000 sf cottage features one bedroom with a queen bed. The full kitchen is outfitted with everything you will need for home cooked meals. There is one full bathroom with tub/shower and quality fluffy white towels. The one car garage has a washer/dryer and garage door opener. The living room has a fireplace, cable TV and a comfortable sofa with chaise lounge. The cottage has WiFi and a Bose ipod Dock. Lounge in the large backyard featuring a spacious brick patio with umbrellas, comfortable outdoor sofas around a gas firepit, teak adirondacks, dining table and chairs, large stainless Weber BBQ and an outdoor shower with hot water. The front bay window and dutch doors add to the beach cottage feel. Two beach chairs, an umbrella, beach towels and boogie boards are provided.

We absolutely LOVED it! The house is literally one minute from the beach (maybe 45 seconds...) and it is the perfect spot for a quiet beach vacay. This was the most fully equipped house I've rented, we literally didn't want for anything! It may seem like a really small touch, but it was so nice to have some ice cold filtered water waiting for us in the frig as soon as we walked in the door. Ventura was having a bit of a heat wave when we were there and we were a bit toasty in the house. We knew it didn't have AC, but hadn't even thought that we might need/want it. Luckily the host had multiple fans available that made things comfortable. The backyard is the best! Sitting outside with coffee in the morning and listening to the hummingbirds chatter became part of our daily routine. At night we'd enjoy a glass of wine while watching the stars pop up overhead. Thank you!! It was wonderful and we are looking forward to going back again soon.

Incredible little bungalow!

We came in to town for work & house hunting. Kim was awesome about sharing the details we needed to get settled in for our almost 2 week stay. She sent great recs for local food & cocktails as well. The neighborhood is fantastic and neighbors super friendly! The backyard is its own oasis… we opened the back door every night to hear the waves crashing. The beach is a few houses away, and there’s so much you can walk to. The house itself is very comfortable and easy to enjoy. We will stay again; highly recommend!

Only a short block from the beach was perfect for us. Very comfortable house in a very quiet neighborhood. The best stocked rental property we have seen.

Overall a wonderful stay

This cottage was very comfortable, nicely decorated, clean and roomy. The large bedroom closet was great! The shower needed some work causing the hot water to be used up too quickly. However I sent a note to the host so it should be fixed.

Home away from home

My husband and I had a great time in Ventura and enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The house has everything we needed to feel comfy and welcome. Kim was a great host and answered all of our questions immediately. We definitely would love to stay again at this cottage.

Work/Get away trip

Super super nice place. Close to the water. Was working in Santa Barbara so the drive was super easy and beautiful. Definitely recommend a stay at this spot. Very cozy and the surrounding area is very nice. Ventura is a cool spot.

Great getaway

We have stayed here before and as always the place is perfect. Clean! Quiet! Just an absolute perfect place to stay. Steps away from the ocean. I'd give more stars if they let you.

Always the best time!!!

Third time coming to Ventura. I did not want to leave when I got up this morning. I love this property. Location is perfect. Everything you need is there. We parked our car on Thursday afternoon and never moved it again until Tuesday morning. The back yard space is fabulous.

Excellent

We booked this place 8 months ahead of a music festival we always attend. Hope we can do it again when next year's dates are announced. Anyway this was perfect for the two of us to go back to and rest after 12 hours of music and dust at the festival. Everything is exactly as the pictures show. The host is very responsive. My only regret is that we did not make use of the giant back yard but that is our own fault. We'll just have to book a weekend getaway just to stay there for that.

Fantastic location & Great house!

We had a great stay & will definitely book again! The location is fabulous... 1/2 a block from the ocean and biking distance to the pier and marina and other trails! The Kitchen has lots of cookware and tools. Kim has thought of almost every amenity you could ever want or need in a home. Check in & out was seamless and Kim was very quick to answer any questions. Great to have the washer / dryer and a garage to store our bikes in. A wonderful getaway in every way. We will definitely rent again soon!

We love Ventura and have walked by this house for years and always thought it was adorable. We were so excited to have the chance to purchase it. It is a bit small for us now but we hope to live in the cottage ourselves someday.
