Charming Silverstrand Beach Cottage Just Steps to the Sand!

Enjoy our family cottage by the sea, that sleeps 8 and is a short stroll down the quiet street to a huge and pristine beach. If you've stayed with us before, you will be excited about recent upgrades including a newly remodeled main bathroom, 2 large flat screen smart TVs, new exterior siding (no more yellow) and all new patio furniture. If you haven't visited before, you'll appreciate the cute beach decor, comfortable beds, and how easily it accommodates 8 people. The best part though is the large patio, it's like having a whole other living room outside.

Silverstrand Beach and adjacent Ventura are old fashioned California beach towns. We are within walking distance of the Channel Islands harbor that boasts large waterways for kayaking or tooling around in an electric boat. Silverstrand is also a popular local surf spot, also great for boogie boarding and sand castle building. You are almost guaranteed sightings of sea lions and often can see dolphins too. You can usually view the Channel Islands off the coast and the sunsets can be spectacular.

We love this little bit of seaside fun for our family and friends and know you will too!

Steps to the beach, plenty of room and a quiet neighborhood. The little enclosed front yard was perfect for our pug! Very affordable so would definitely stay again. Parking was the only issue, would recommend car pooling to the extent you can although there were 2 spots for the house.

The house is a cute little beach house! The bedrooms and beds were comfortable. The living room had comfortable leather couches. The table worked great for games each night. The negatives were the kitchen had ants constantly while we were there. We kept cleaning them up and kept all food put up but they just kept coming! There was no soap (sinks or showers) in the entire house which seemed really weird for a rental. When we got there Friday night I discovered we had never been sent the checkin information which meant there was no way in the front door. It took a little while to get ahold of the owner but we finally reached him and got in. I would recommend this vrbo for the price point. 4 bedrooms snd 2 bathrooms was great!

Cute place with lots of places and nooks and crannies to put your stuff away. Very well thought out floor plan. Bathrooms were updated. We practically had the beach to ourselves. Grandchildren came for the day and loved it!

We enjoyed the lay out of the home and took advantage of all the outdoor seating. The short walk to the beach was perfect for a quick trip over to watch the sunset.

This very nice home is a short walk to the beach on a quiet street, which is what our stay was all about. Silver Strand is a clean, wide beach with not a lot of people and plenty of seals and bird life. A public bathroom, the only one we could see, is located near the entrance to the beach on this home’s street. The home itself is just as the pictures show - beautiful bathrooms and lovely bedrooms with a variety of mattress firmness, so everyone in our group found one to their liking. Three of the bedrooms are in the rear of the home, and a large one, with an en-suite bathroom, is at the front. New overhead fans throughout were helpful to keep the air circulating. The cozy living room was big enough for our group of 7, and the small kitchen was adequate for our minimal needs (we ate out a lot or brought food in). The spacious front patio area felt private behind a wall, but needed some extra cleaning of the cushions and tables. There are some children’s beach toys and boogie boards in containers on the patio and an outside shower. All-in-all, this is a great place for a relaxing beach vacation!

Our family had a restful 3 day getaway before the kids head back to college. Easy parking for two vehicles. The cottage is well-appointed and comfortable. The beds were comfy with ample pillows and nice bedding. Short, direct walk to the beach. I think this street hasn't seen as much improvement as the neighboring streets, but surely will someday. Very friendly, quiet, and dog-oriented area just as we remember our regular visits to Oxnard over the past couple of decades. We hope to stay again!

Location location location

We arrived very clean and great location just a short walk to Silver Strands. We went to the beach in the morning early then back for HH on the beach ! We would like to visit again and stay longer!

Best beach stay!

We have been coming to Silverstrand for 30 years and love the nice cool beach and quaint neighborhood. We loved this beach house and would absolutely stay there again. It is basic, uncluttered, a little worn but comfortable. The kitchen is pretty small and the cookware is old but it’s all functional. The house gets a little warm but the owners provide large fans and with the windows and doors open it cools off very nicely. The bathrooms are nice and the outside shower was great for rinsing off kids and sand.

Most Comfortable Beds!!!

Outside- nice sitting area, disappointed Grill was very dirty. Wish there was seating in back of house too. Kitchen had what we needed, all of my family slept well, including my very preggie daughter and her family. 7 adults and 1 child total. Within a block of the ocean. Utensil drawers need a good cleaning bit overall very nice.

Satisfying stay

Cozy, comfortable stay. Was able to navigate with wheelchair — workable with assistance and portable aids. Beautiful and quiet neighborhood; we were able to relax happily with friends!

25th Wedding Anniversary Getaway

We loved our stay! It was just the right amount of room for our family, great walking distance to Silver Strand Beach and our dogs enjoyed the yard!!! We definitely will return! Lastly, our host was friendly and easy to reach during our stay!!

Comfortable Beach House

All the comforts of home close to the beach. Great walking neighborhood. Quiet. Fabulous breeze from the ocean. SUNSETS! Bring your favorite games to play on the beach (frisbee, paddle ball) and at night with the family. Mark was a gracious host.

nice beach house

Needed a bit of fixing up and some deep cleaning. Easy walk to beach. Had to trim bougainvillea in front due to overgrowth with big thorns. Comfortable beds. Very hot inside. More fans needed. Main bathroom needs towel bars. SO much food left in cupboards! Didn't use any of it. Who does it belong to? Nice big showers with good shower heads. Lots of games & puzzles left for our use.

Silver Strand Cottage

This is a great beach cottage. Plenty of room inside & out! The area is wonderful-the beach is just steps away & no crowds-even on the weekend. Hassle free check in & out. We have a family of parents, grown children, a preteen, & an infant. Great time for everyone 🌞

Kitchen was dirty, oven and microwave, coffe maker, pots supper dirty. It did asked to clean kitchen but if you are paying a cleaning fee it should cover all.

Quiet Beach House

Nice and quiet house walking distance from a quiet beach. Comfortably slept 8, kitchen was well stocked. Convenient for our trip out to Santa Cruz Island and close to Ventura.

Fabulous Find

This property was everything we had hoped for with respect to the property, furnishings, cleanliness, etc. The bedding was super comfortable and the cottage is VERY roomy. The kitchen was probably the best equipped of any place we have ever stayed. The neighbors were very friendly and helpful. There were so many thoughtful extras that made our stay even better. The owner is very responsive and extremely accommodating. The outdoor space makes it even more inviting....we used the front patio extensively!!!!

Nice place

This was a neat older home. The one thing you have to watch for are ants. We bought Raid to spray around the door and that helped. Learn how to turn up the heat if your there on the off season, was a bit cold. Other than that, the place was clean, close to the beach and a nice place to stay.

What a gem!

Wonderful, we’ll appointed cozy house. It rained a lot of the time we were there as it was in January. The patio was very nice as well as the entire house. Each room is well decorated and the bathrooms were very well remodeled…with rain showers! I would definitely stay here again!

Quick walk to the beach

This cute beach house was great. Four bedrooms and two baths, comfy living room, and a well-stocked kitchen suited us well, even for cooking Thanksgiving dinner. The neighborhood is quiet and the beach is straight down the street about 6 houses. Iccemaker and hand-held shower head are pluses in my book. Sat out in the courtyard reading my book and soaking up the sun. Just a great week!

Our kids love the the surfing spot here and the beach and neighborhood are quiet and friendly. We also wanted a spot that was a safe walk to the beach. When they were young and wanted to walk down to the beach, they just let us know and headed down the street. No busy streets or scary traffic you find in other beach communities! We always had a comfortable stay because each kid had their own bedroom/privacy. Now we use it for friends. It comfortably houses 4 couples and we always get rave reviews.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

The best part of renting our home is the value. It is a comfortable four bedroom home that could be shared amongst couples or families to create a very reasonable vacation cost for a home located 400 ft from the beach. Also unique in this area is the large comfortable patio right off the kitchen. Outdoor living in Silverstrand is every bit as important as the inside and many homes don't have a great outdoor space big enough to seat everyone. You wouldn't want to do without it!
