Very secluded, peaceful home that had everything we needed and more. Thoughtful touches throughout including a fully kitted out kitchen, and the nicest front porch you could imagine!

We loved our stay! It was super clean and cozy and the porch is so relaxing, we were sad to leave! The hosts thought of everything you could possibly need for your stay and we really appreciated all of the amenities. I hope we can make it back one day on our travels!

We loved our stay at the River Cottage. The house was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We enjoyed relaxing on the porch swing with a lovely view of the patio. The place is off the main road but only a few miles from restaurants and shopping. We would definitely stay there again if in the area.

This charming country cottage was everything we hoped for. The property is close to town but seemed miles away. The house was clean and well equipped. The front porch was the favorite gathering place. The host was easy to communicate with and went out of his way to return some forgotten items. I would rent it again.

This lovely cottage felt just like home the moment we walked through the doors! The owners have thought of absolutely everything that you might need….including a dog crate if you need one! The house was spotless…the beds were so comfortable…the kitchen had everything you could ask for and the front porch overlooking the river was a great spot to spend time drinking cups of tea. The cottage is only 10 minutes away from the start of the Greenbriar River Trail for hiking and biking! We plan to return at some point and explore the area even more. We were in town for a wedding at The Greenbriar and this location was a perfect place to be able to spend some time relaxing!! Highly recommend it:)

House was amazing and close to town yet super peaceful. Spent most of our time on the porch. One night I fell asleep on the glider listening to the bullfrogs! Kitchen had everything you could need. Beds were really comfortable. Home was extremely clean. Our little dog loved the front porch too! Will definitely return once in the area again!

We could not have dreamed of a better place to unplug, relax, and enjoy the peace. The house had amazing energy the moment you walk in. The hosts are extremely thoughtful with the accommodations, and had everything you needed. It’s in a great location for a variety of hiking, the surrounding area is charming, and the hosts are easy to communicate with. Don’t hesitate booking this place, we’d come back here in a heartbeat.

Our family had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful home. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed by the peaceful setting, breathtaking views, and the thoughtful touches throughout the house.The hosts, Bernie and Jessica were incredibly kind, welcoming, and responsive. Communication before and during our stay was excellent they were quick to answer questions and made the entire experience seamless.One of the things that made our stay especially meaningful was learning that this home was built by the owner’s grandfather’s home 100 years ago. You can truly feel the love and care that has gone into preserving its character while providing all the comforts needed for a relaxing getaway.The front porch quickly became our favorite gathering spot. The home was spotless, comfortable, well-equipped, and had everything we needed to cook meals, spend time together, and make lasting memories. The home was the perfect home base for all of our adventures.If you are looking for a place with beautiful scenery, rich history, genuine hospitality, and a peaceful retreat, this is it. We are so grateful for the opportunity to stay here and would gladly return. Thank you Bernie and Jessica for sharing such a special piece of your family’s legacy with us!

The house is very cozy and quiet. From the moment we walked in we could feel the love this house was built and lived with. The owners had a cute basket with goodies on the table with a little note. The front porch as our favorite spot to hangout. Perfect little get away. The only complaint would be the pillows (either was too thick or too flat) Good location. Definitely recommend.

We enjoyed a very relaxing weekend. Check in was easy, house was clean. We appreciated being able to learn a bit about the history of the house and the family that owns it. The locals know it as "The Morgan House." It's updated and upgraded but with some original features, like the built-in hutch/cabinet in the dining room, that lend to the historic charm. Overall very cozy and comfortable. Kitchen is well stocked with cookware and dishes, clean and well functioning appliances. All the remotes are labeled and the TV's are simple with Roku; the wifi allows for streaming on several devices without lag or buffer. We were able to have our dogs with us which is a huge plus. Would stay again!

We loved this home! It is in a location perfect for the Harley riding we wanted to with it being within an hour or two of so many natural attractions. Good food nearby. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is perfect. If you are looking for night life, not so much. Everyone in the area is so friendly and there's a great little park just 3 minutes away with a river to walk by and walking paths and park for kids.
