The apartment was small, but was as advertised and worked for my family of 4. It's a good location for your first time in NYC and is close to transportation.

More host interaction would have been helpful. I had to teach out to him to get info on how to enter the apartment. Needed more bath towels. We were 5 but only 4 towels were provided with 1 handtowel and zero wash cloths. I was told that there was a coffee maker but it was only a hot water pot. No coffee cups, no stirrers or spoons. The couch needs immediate replacement. It was very old and very uncomfortable to sit on.

Fantastic stay and fabulous location!!

Couldn’t ask for a better location!! Super cool historic building and great apartment. Very comfortable beds and comfy space. Nice common area/library in the lobby. Great bar and restaurant attached to lobby as well. Would stay again for sure!

Not enough towels, bedding, for our family. No reply from the host. The lights in the unit went off, we had to go find the building manager to get them back on. No reply from the host. No dishes or even coffee cups in the unit - having a kitchenette is great, but if there are no dishes, it's kinda useless. Besides that, the unit was cute and comfortable, and the host did communicate well before we get got there.

Great location, clean apartment. Concerns noted in June reviews have been fixed by host. There is a great coffee shop nearby so we did not mind not having a coffee maker.

Everything was wonderful. Great apartment, spacious rooms, perfect location, very clean, and owner communicated well. If I ever come back to New York, Id want to stay here again. Highly recommend.

For my first reservation I had to reach out to the host for check in instructions and day of for code to get in the unit host is not responsive . First night we were there the lights went out at night and come the morning they were still out in the room where the king bed is at , I reached out to the host who responded hours later . Lady in the unit nearby told my son not to slam the door when he didn’t I would have told him as well if he had done so . The lady was very disrespectful and said she was in a conference call and that she was making money . Yea weird I know I responded to her she had her tv going all night and no one told her anything. All in all the location is okay not to far from time square but for the amount of money paid you would expect better . The halls are so small the elevator small not as comfortable .

Great Location - Historic Building

Great Location - secure historic building- the king bed in the living room is sooooo very comfortable— the futon / sofa bed is not comfortable—-& the kitchenette is very limited, no coffee pot & no utensils . The Shower has Great water pressure & good hot water. A bit of an issue with the bathroom sink - the faucet is broken & the sink does not drain well.

Location was great, the sink faucet was semi broken, and the shower curtain was clear, which meant we couldn’t share the bathroom. Be warned that there’s no coffee machine, and the bathroom is connected to the second room, which proved difficult.

It was a very nice place, with an awesome location. Very comfortable. I tried communicating with host before hand and couldn’t get any responses. Finally was contacted a couple hours before check in. Everything was good in the apartment except for the shower curtain flies into the shower and clings to you when showering. A little annoying. Maybe get heavier one. And it would be nice to have a role of paper towels and some extra trash bags in the apartment. Other than that we’re were happy!

Not Much Better Than Any NYC Hotel Room

Not appropriate for four people. One very small bathroom, and the sink "stem" was broken. No kitchen. Two small rooms with very little furniture. There may be a mold issue.On the other hand, it was pretty quiet at night, for midtown NYC.

Midtown Manhattan Condo

A lovely stay at this historical condo building. # 1 plus was location! Truly easy to access many areas of Manhattan on foot or if not, by train or bus. 10th floor condo although view was nothing spectacular. The main bedroom, once the living room, was large and comfortable with a great bed. The bathroom was teeny tiny but shower water temperature and pressure were good. The other bedroom was smaller but very adequate for Manhattan. The kitchen area was very small and more for reheating than cooking. Our stay was pleasant and we GREATLY appreciated being able tostada ore our luggage after check out. Thank you to our hosts.

Awkward

It is a one bedroom apartment turned into two bedrooms. This meant that whoever slept in the room with the King bed had to go into the room with the other bed in order to get to the bathroom. The floors near the bathroom squeaked so it was impossible to use the restroom during the night without waking up the people in that room. On top of that, the sink was broken, the tub wouldn’t drain (gross), and the refrigerator wouldn’t shut which meant nothing could get cold. Overall, I would not stay again and would not recommend.

Nice, but has some quirks

Location and communication with host was Great. The gym looked well appointed. Nice bar next door. FYI, bathroom access is thru the bedroom doors in photo and has a swinging double door. Pedestal sink faucet is wobbly. Shower liner clings to you. Microwave cord does not reach its outlet so unplugging the power strip in other room was needed for operation. TV does not have local live channels, just streaming. One working elevator. Unit is on 10th floor. Temp issue where it was not working, likely a one off. Quiet building and AC was fine. Nice windows and decent views.

Awful lack of communication from host. Tiny air cooler not air conditioned.

We tried for three days for check in information and had to contact the customer service to get info. Host never gave us wifi information or check in info. A room for 5 people with only two towels, one roll of toilet paper, leaky sink that's faucet was falling apart, listed as air conditioning but it was a tiny window unit in one room that didn't even cool that room let alone the entire place. Temperature inside was over 80 degrees at night. The location was great for our needs. The building has charm. Small elevator fits 3 at a time, so difficult with children. Leaking old refrigerator left in small hallway the entire time we were there, right outside the elevator. The charm of the building and location didn't account for the lack of communication and stress it created at the price we paid. Disappointed for sure. Didn't sleep due to heat. Simple fixes if someone could have been kind enough to respond or upgrade cooling system or just be honest about it.

DO NOT RENT THIS APARTMENT. This listing was misrepresented, poorly maintained, and unsafe. Save yourself the frustration - do not rent this apartment.This was one of the worst rental experiences I’ve had in New York. We stayed with 2 small children and 3 adults, and the apartment was filthy, unsafe, and the host was unresponsive. Three hours before check-in, despite multiple messages on VRBO and texts, I still had no instructions and had to chase them down. No guide was provided for basics like trash disposal or checkout.The tub was filthy with dark grime and drained slowly, the sink faucet was crusted and splashed water everywhere, and the bath mat smelled like it hadn’t been washed. Towels felt like paper, and the second bedroom had cheap microfiber sheets. The air conditioner was far too small for the space.Safety was ignored: windows had no guards (a code requirement with children), the fridge was plugged into a non-grounded extension cord, and the kettle was too large to fill in the sink, forcing me to use the tub. The kitchenette was an obvious fire hazard. One elevator has been broken for months (see previous reviews)I had to call VRBO to get host to respond; host reported me for being aggresive and VRBO sided with them. Host has 3 numbers but does not answer any when you need them. Front desk is mostly unmanned despite their hours.To make matters worse, VRBO offered no protection of me as the guest; they sided with the host.
Tub with visible grime and filth. Was not cleaned for us.
Only one working elevator. Reviews from 4 months ago state unworking elevator
Unsafe fridge and microwave electrical hook up. Induction plate but unusable with provided pan.
Unmanned front desk, despite their hours. Only 1 person there for 30 minutes our entire stay.
