Lovely 4-bedroom villa with a private pool

Villa Stavromenos is a lovely villa with private pool and 4 bedrooms, built in the seaside village of Stavromenos. The villa is located 1100 meters from the sandy beach and 12 km east from the town of Rethymno.

The villa offers a very spacious open plan living room with corner fireplace, satellite TV, music center, iPod/iPhone connection to Hi-Fi, a dining table, and a fully equipped kitchen with grill oven, big refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher and washing mashine on the ground floor.

On the same floor the guests can find four bedrooms, one bedroom with a double bed and three bedrooms with twin beds, each one with en-suite shower bathroom and private balcony with garden or side sea views.

A beautiful courtyard with roses and palm trees, a large swimming pool of 35 sqm in an elevated position, a large patio with stone barbeque and wood burning oven are also offered. The villa is quite individual surrounded by trees and fields offering a nice view to the sea.

Stavromenos is a traditional village of Crete with a few taverns, a cafe, a grillroom, 2 butchers' shops, 2 supermarkets, and a bakery shop. This villa is conveniently situated near the national road, which connects Stavromenos with the nice town of Rethymno. A large variety of activities and facilities can be found in Rethymno.

Lovely home with view and pool

Comfortable and charming place. Well equipped kitchen (needs bowls!), and location near Rethymno allows for visiting Chania (1.25 hours) and Heraklion (1 hour) with ease. Stavromenos is a quiet town but there are many great restaurants in the area. Very small showers (all 4 of them) not ideal. Pool was wonderful. Very private. Lovely sea views.

A perfect holiday

From start to finish we had an amazing time, the villa was perfect, immaculately clean, the grounds and pool were amazing and the host was perfect and so helpful in every way. It is always a great start to be met by the owner of the property and be able to ask any questions, although we had very few. The property was exactly as described and provide all the facilities that you could wish for in a perfect holiday. the host was always easy to contact and provided all the information we required. All in all a perfect holiday. Thank to to everyone.

Amazing family friendly villa

Stayed for 14 nights. Excellent service from the owner. Villa very clean and spacious. Air conditioning amazing throughout the whole villa. Excellent wi-fi (for kids). 2 mins to local shop. Excellent location. Will definitely book again.

Villa Stavromenos? called another name when you arrive!

Nothing exactly like the pictures. Very misleading advertising. You have the allusion that you Can almost walk to the beach -this is not the case. It is behind a very busy road where there is no safe crossing. So really not great if you have kids. It is NOT signposted, so it is almost like a guessing game where you reply on Satelite and then have to call the owner. For us, when you are paying thousands of pounds for your hard-earned holiday, you should not expect to have to tell the owners that there are stains on the chairs and that things look dirty. Shower door that didn't shut, cracked glass door, moving front door that didn't feel safe. I really don't want to get personal about the owners but you should be more transparent about the exact location, and, of the property. Also not advertise the village of Stavromenos with a picture of Rethymno! The actual village is nothing like that! This is the case where advertised on amazing villas in Crete. With the help of head office at home and away we were able to get another villa where we felt more comfortable after a few days.

10 day stay - May 2019 - 6 "senior" ladies

A delightful villa with a lovely pool, providing all the amenities and facilities for our 10 day stay. Nothing was too much trouble and any issues we had were dealt with promptly and efficiently by the owner Argiris. The maid service after 3 days, with clean sheets and towels, and again before we departed, was an absolute treat, and not something we had experienced in the 15 years the 6 of us have been travelling away together. Once we had familiarised ourselves with the surroundings, the beach was only a 10 minute walk, there were plenty of places to eat, all very reasonably priced; the supermarkets are again within a short walk. The local people were very friendly, and the nearby local tourist information office, who were very helpful, was only 15 minutes from the villa. We thoroughly enjoyed our Yellow Train experience (tour of 5 local villages), the open-top bus tour of Rethymno, as well as the mini-bus trip to the Preveli Palm Beach on the south coast of the island. Bus tickets can be purchased from the local supermarket at E1.80, with the bus stop only a short walk from the villa. You don't really need a car, unless you particularly want to explore more of the island. We were very content with the local sandy beach at Skaleta, with plenty of umbrellas and sun beds. Would recommend beach shoes if you wanted to swim though! Thank you for making our stay at villa Stavromenos a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable one. Perhaps a sign with the name of the villa at the bottom of the track leading to the villa would be helpful!
