This adorable 3-bedroom cottage is both rustic and comfortable, nestled in peaceful Oakland on Salmon Lake, part of the Belgrade chain of Lakes. This is a great getaway spot for couples and for families with children.

Start your day with a cup of coffee on the screened in porch looking across the clear lake. Enjoy the private dock and float, perfect for sunning, splashing, swimming and fishing. Got a boat? Bring it along and use our mooring

Perhaps your favorite part of the day will be watching the beautiful sunset over the calm lake. After dark, join together around the fire pit for a camp fire, sharing laughs, roasting s’mores and listening to the loons.

The house has 3 cozy bedrooms. One facing the lake with a queen size bed, another with twin size bunk beds and the final room also features a queen size bed. Relax in the cozy living room, featuring a flat screen TV, vaulted ceiling and skylight windows. Features include a fully functioning kitchen with pass thru window, full-sized refrigerator, a washer and dryer and small bathroom. As well as a screened in porch with outdoor furniture and grill. Enjoy meal time inside or gathered around our large outdoor picnic table.

The property is located in Oakland, just a short 10 minute drive into Waterville or 15 minutes to Augusta, where you’ll find many shopping options, wonderful restaurants and entertainment.

Amazing week

We've rented cabins every year for the past decade and this is the best one we've stayed at. Everything was perfect. The cabin, the amenities, the property, and the best dock/swimming area we could ask for. Very quiet area as well, it was the perfect place to relax and hang out for a week. Hopefully we'll be back next year.

Was here for Colby visit, family of 3. The cabin was very cozy and everything you’d want in a cabin. Backyard access to the lake was amazing. Went kayaking, and fire pit nights after a busy day on campus. Would stay again

Beautiful rustic cabin

Cozy beds, well stocked kitchen, not the greatest shower but did the job. Chad was a super host answering questions quickly and very accommodating. Thank you for a much needed rest in an amazing setting.

Fall Getaway

Cozy cabin in a beautiful location! Leaves across the lake were colorful and gorgeous. Sipped coffee on dock and enjoyed the view! Cabin was clean and comfortable. Propane fireplace and thick bedding kept us warm on the cool nights. Great place!

Lake front cozy

5 of us stayed there for a near-by family wedding…wish we had more time at this lake! Lovely flat yard with firepit and picnic table which got the morning sun for coffee. Bedrooms had comfy beds and lots of clever places for storage. As the old folks we got the front bedroom and woke up to a view of the lake.

From the moment we stepped into the cabin, we felt right at home! It offered the peace, quiet and relaxation that we were hoping for. Very well equipped! Our host, Chad, even stopped by so we could chat and get a bit of history about the cabin. We appreciated that as well. From reading the guest book, we understand why there are many repeat guests that come to the cabin. We will be returning as well....next year......and hopefully for many more in the future. Thank you Chad for all you did to make our family time so special as we made lasting, loving memories with our family!

Everything was fine with the cabin. Very peaceful and quiet. Had a little trouble gaining entry until I finally (15 minutes) figured out how the combination lock box worked to get access to the key. A contracted grounds maintenance company came through spaying one morning. That was disconcerting. What was he spraying? We closed the windows. Had a very pleasant few days.

Peaceful Paradise

Chad’s provisions were above and beyond expectations. He’s thought of everything to make us comfortable. The cabin was immaculate and cozy. The views of the lake and surrounding vistas are spectacular. The water in the lake is crystal clear providing habitat for loons, fish, eagles , beaver, mink, and otters. We were there over 4th of July. Didn’t have to drive anywhere or deal with traffic. Terrific fireworks were provided across the lake. Just sat on the dock and enjoyed. Best 4th ever. Provisions are easy to find in Waterville and at The Green Spot on the main road. Great produce and fish there plus many other delectable items. The sisters that run the place are characters. I would return again and again. The deposit was refunded the day we checked out. Thanks Chad for a relaxing week in the beautiful state of Maine.

Just what we needed

Beautiful spot with just what we needed to be comfortable. We are from the area and were traveling for a wedding and visiting family. The three bedrooms were fantastic in giving my teen/tween son and daughter space to relax between activities. The weather was chilly but if you pack appropriately with warm clothes and maybe your favorite blanket be your fine. They had extra blankets available at the cabin as well. I did have my teen niece and my nephew as well as my 7 year old autistic nephew visit for a few hours following the wedding. We all enjoyed the firepit outside by the lake. We had one incident with the ,7 year old throwing a piece of wood in the lake before we could stop him. That was our fault and we felt bad as no one in our group could reach it to fish it out. That made us worry with all the boats, luckily a kind gentleman came by and when he saw it fished it out for us. I'm not sure he heard back us yell thank you but it tells you how much care people have for the properties and area. It was appreciated.

Cozy Camp with Beautiful Lake View / Access

Amazing Cabin

The property was immaculate and the owner provided us with all the information we needed for a perfect stay. The screened in porch was a great place to view sunsets and the fire pit so much fun…ample hot water for everything. We felt lucky to have found this gem! Thank you!

Maine Road Trip

I booked our stay months ago, had to change the date due to work and they were very accommodating. Loved the location, cabin and sitting around the fire pit. We did a lot of sight seeing and it was centrally located for where we wanted to go.

Labor day vacation

Wanted to go fishing on salmon lake in Maine with my father in law found a place on verbo . Was a nice cabin everything we needed had a great week until the last day with the rain but all said would rent the cabin again thanks chad

Perfect place to beat the heat!

We absolutely loved our stay on Salmon Lake! The waterfront area is beautiful, room for five of us to sun on the dock and the water temp was perfect and crystal clear. All of the appliances and furnishings functioned as expected. Chad was a great host. We fully expect to come back next year!

Excellent Stay

The cabin is conveniently located, centrally located to many of our family and friends. We were visiting Maine from Atlanta and got the opportunity to spend lots of quality time with our family and friends. The cabin is rustic but adorable and well maintained. The location is quiet and very beautiful. It is well equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing and fun stay! The water is so clear and clean! Absolutely stunning sunsets! We spent a lot of time sitting by the fire pit in the evening. Such a great stay! We would definitely recommend and we would love to stay here again next year! Thank you, Chad for being so responsive!

Tranquil Setting

We enjoyed the sunsets and the loons singing to us. We saw a “raft” of 19 loons one evening. This was a later in the year than our usual vacation Weeks, so the weather wasn’t as nice as earlier i the summer. This of course was no fault of the owner. Speaking of the owner, Chad, he was very attentive when needed but respected our privacy as well. My husband is a huge fisherman and unfortunately, due to the over fishing caused by Co-Vid, there was a lot of fishing but not much catching. The camp was accurate to pictures.

Great Family place

The cabin was perfect to spend time with our children and grandchild. Great swimming and place to tie up a boat. Chad thought of everything! We were very comfortable. Anything you may have forgot within a 15 minute drive. Saw plenty of wildlife on the lake including eagles, opsrey and loons. We would love to return next year.
