Beautiful Cottage In Wildewood Estates

Our beautiful cottage is located in Wildewood Estates of Belgrade Lakes Colony Association. Wildewood Estates is a community of Cottages on Long Pond with a private sandy beach and docking area. Although we are not a waterfront property, the nice thing about our location is that we are only 5 minutes walking distance from the Private Colony beach and only 8 minutes to the docking area. The beach has a play area (including swing set) for small children. Barbecue grills and picnic tables are set up for your convenience. There also is an Porta-Potty and parking at the beach as well as at the boat docking area for those who wish to drive. Outdoor activities such as swimming, hiking, cycling and walking are a safe environment for families with small children as well as adults.

This custom designed cottage is 8 years old and offers all the privacy and amenities you are looking for in a vacation rental. Ideal for couples as well as families with children. Our cottage sleeps 7. The main level offers a living/Great room equipped with sofa, chair, a TV for VCR and DVD player, Internet & Wifi and local TV channels, and a gas fireplace. Our open concept kitchen is fully equipped with an electric stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, pots and pans and all utensils including dishes and has an Island that can seat 4. The dining room has an additional table and chairs for extra dining space, playing games, doing puzzles, reading and writing. The downstairs master bedroom has a queen bed and the 2nd bedroom has a full bed. 1 full Bath with shower and tub.

The Loft on the second level has a 1/2 Bath with toilet and sink. A leather, very comfortable, chair, 1 Queen Bed and 1 twin bed. Outside is a 10 x 20 front deck and a small back deck. The property has parking for 4 cars and has a private back yard surrounded by trees.
The side and back yard has plenty of space for outside games.

Long Pond is in Maine's Kennebec and Moose River Valley's region and one of the seven lakes called the Belgrade Lakes Region. The Village of Belgrade Lakes is only about 15 miles northwest of Augusta, just 3 hours North of Boston in Central Maine. The Belgrade region is acclaimed for its natural beauty, wealth of recreational activities and abundance of local charm. Long Pond and the other six fresh water lakes are known for their fine fishing and water activities. Families enjoy swimming, tubing, sailing, fishing and boating, kayaking, canoeing and water skiing and boat rentals are available at nearby boat rentals.

The writer of the award winning 'On Golden Pond', Ernest Thompson, spent much of his early years at neighboring Great Pond, only minutes away from Long Pond.

This area also has the New England Music Camp, where free music concerts are held twice a week during the summer season. The Quaint and picturesque village of Belgrade Lakes is only 15 minutes by car from our cottage in Wildewood Estates and has fabulous restaurants as well as the wonderful Day's Store where you can purchase everything you need for your stay. (Food, liquor, tackle, souvenirs, and the New York Times). Augusta, (The State Capital) just 20 minutes away by car has a huge shopping complex and many restaurants as well. Free port, Maine (famous for its LL Bean Store) has outlet shopping and only 45 minutes away. Antique lovers will find an abundance of shops in this area as well.

There are several golf courses in the area. Belgrade Lakes 18-hole golf course has incredible panoramic views of the area's lakes and hills. Golf Digest called it 'Golf at its absolute best' when giving it a top 5 star rating. It is just 15 minutes by car from our Cottage. There are many hiking trails (detailed map can be purchased at Day's Store).

Seacoast places worth vising, such as Camden, Maine and Rockland, Maine have famous art museums and many restaurants on the Atlantic Ocean, all within an hours ride.

When vacationing in Maine, take day trips and sight see the area while you enjoy the comfort of a home. Choose to stay a 171 Wildewood Estate instead of a Hotel. You get the whole house instead of just one room.

Our cottage is seasonal and open for rent May through October.
