My husband and I stayed at Grinning Bear Lodge from 10/4/26 - 10/10/26. This is the 2nd year in a row that we stayed there, and it was even better than last year. We've been coming to Angel Fire yearly since 2013, and Grinning Bear is one of the best places we've stayed. It's immaculately clean, has a wonderful view and has all the necessities you need. The coffee/hot cocoa area is well stocked, as is the 'smores station. We go purely to relax, hike and decompress, and we thoroughly enjoyed doing just that. The bed was SUPER comfy, and there were plenty of extra blankets to keep us warm. The hot tub was lovely - we sat in it every evening and watched the deer make their way up for the night. It was the perfect vacation!

What a joy to welcome you back to Grinning Bear Lodge for a second year! It truly means so much to us that, after so many years of visiting Angel Fire, you chose to return to our little mountain retreat. We love knowing that you found everything you needed to relax, recharge, and simply enjoy the beauty of the mountains. Evenings in the hot tub watching the deer wander through are some of our favorite moments, too! We put a great deal of thought and care into making the lodge feel welcoming, comfortable, and well stocked, so your kind words mean the world to us. Thank you for being such wonderful returning guests and for taking the time to share your experience. We hope Grinning Bear Lodge continues to be a special part of your Angel Fire traditions for many years to come. We would be absolutely delighted to welcome you back for year three! With gratitude, Tina Grinning Bear Lodge 🐻

A beautiful cabin with a fantastic deck with wonderful outdoor furniture with fire pit. Everything was clean and kitchen was great for what we cooked. We also grilled on the patio a couple of times. We saw turkeys, deer and elk because we were pretty high up on the mountain. The only downside to the cabin were some of the beds were not comfortable. We had a great time and saw Texas beat Ohio, great game!

We know that everyone has their own preference when it comes to mattress comfort, and we’re always looking for ways to make our guests’ stay even more comfortable and a mattress upgrade is a great suggestion!! Thank you again for staying at Grinning Bear Lodge and for taking the time to share your experience. We hope to welcome you back to the mountain again soon!

Everything was perfect at the Grinning Bear Lodge. Well kept (beautiful decor), well appointed (the fluffiest towels/and soft sheets) and situated in a private cul-de-sac. The back deck was a wonderful place to hang out and the fire-pit was great for s’mores/campfire stories in the evenings. Bonus: the deer came by each day to see us and were so friendly! I highly recommend the Grinning Bear Lodge for any family or group who wants a secluded mountain retreat. Wish I could have stayed longer.

Our stay at Grinning Bear Lodge was absolutely perfect. The cabin itself is stunning, featuring high-end luxury accommodations and beautiful New Mexican decor that makes you feel right at home in the mountains. We were especially impressed with the kitchen; it is truly "fully stocked" with everything a cook could need. One of our favorite parts was exploring the trails right around the cabin—the hosts even provided hiking sticks, which was such a thoughtful and helpful touch! After a day of hiking, the hot tub and jetted bathtub were the ultimate way to relax. If you're looking for a peaceful, upscale getaway in Angel Fire, this is the place to be. We can't wait to come back!

Grinning Bear Lodge exceeded our expectations in every way. The photos on the listing simply can't do it justice—it is even more beautiful in person.Although the lodge sleeps up to 14 guests, it was just my husband, our dog, and me during this stay, and it was the perfect mountain retreat. We were especially impressed by how pet-friendly the property is. The hosts provided a puppy pack with dog bowls, mats, treats, and toys, which made our dog feel just as welcome as we were. The thoughtful amenities throughout the lodge made packing much easier. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, s'mores ingredients, and well-stocked kitchen essentials were all provided, along with many other conveniences that made our stay comfortable and stress-free.We spent our days cooking, soaking in the hot tub, playing games on the arcade table, relaxing by the fire, and hiking nearby trails. One of our favorite parts of the trip was watching wildlife from the lodge—we saw chipmunks and elk wandering around outside every day. This was one of the most relaxing mountain getaways we've ever had. Whether you're planning a romantic retreat, a family vacation, or a trip with friends, Grinning Bear Lodge is an incredible place to stay. We would absolutely return, both as a couple and with a larger group in the future.

Paradise Found in Angel Fire!

What a perfect stay in Angel Fire! We loved our vacation at Grinning Bear Lodge. The home was beautiful and comfortable for our family’s 3 generations. Every room had personal touches that felt so welcoming! The bedrooms had comfortable beds and cozy blankets to snuggle under! The bathrooms had the fluffiest towels and so many extra products to make you feel right at home. The kids loved the game room and all the board games. The living room had plenty of seating for all of us and we loved snuggling each evening watching movies on the large TV. The kitchen was the best stocked that we have ever had in a vacation home! Our favorites included all the spices needed for cooking, a wonderful coffee bar, a waffle maker and of course the s’mores kit! The back deck was voted as our families favorite spot! The hot tub was luxurious, the fire pit was cozy and we enjoyed eating meals at the roomy table. The home is on a quiet street nestled in beautiful pine and aspen trees! We were thrilled to see deer and elk in our yard each evening! We will choose Grinning Bear lodge each time we visit Angel Fire!
