I was blown away by how clean, cozy, and accommodating Camp Duckabush was! Beautiful view and close to hiking trails. Makayla and Shauna provided excellent communication and helped make my stay even better than it already was. My only disappointment was that I couldn’t stay longer, I hope to be back someday!

Beautiful view and very cozy cabin. Only 1 thing is too dark in the bathroom with no window and only 1 small lighting.

Thank you for your kind words about the view and cozy feel of the cabin—we’re so glad you enjoyed your stay! We appreciate the feedback about the bathroom lighting. As noted in our listing and photos, the cabin is a compact 680 sq ft A-frame designed to offer a rustic, cozy experience, and the bathroom layout reflects those space limitations. While it doesn’t have a window, we aim to be fully transparent so guests know exactly what to expect. We’re always looking for ways to improve and will certainly take your lighting suggestion into consideration. Thanks again for staying with us!

Exactly as described. Everything one could need and wonderful furnishings. We had been E biking for a week on the Olympic Discovery Trail as well as in Victoria BC so this was a relaxing ending to our vacation. Great property to sit outside overlooking the bay and just read. We hiked to a waterfall and had a wonderful meal at Hama Hama Oyster Farm. Will definitely come back to this area to explore more. We are 74 years old and had no problem climbing the stairs to the loft bedroom. ( don’t try if you have any physical limitations or under the influence) We loved the uniqueness of this cabin. Very fun!

Thank you for your review. We are so glad to hear you found the cabin relaxing and close to fun activities! We also appreciate your accuracy in describing our stairs. There is so much variation in people’s physical capabilities that it’s always hard to give very specific recommendations about that. We love hearing though about guests with your lifestyle that have stayed very active and capable! Please come back as we would love to host you again anytime.

Cannot recommend this place more. Absolutely lovely and thoughtfully well-equipped. Kept saying when there "wow- I am so happy we found this gem." Good to be aware of the steep stairs up to the bedroom.

My wife and I loved our stay at Camp Duckabush. The A-Frame is well appointed with thoughtful touches. We wanted a rustic cabin vibe. Camp Duckabush offers that while also providing modern amenities. We love the view. Tidal waters offer a continuously changing landscape, reminding you of the rhythmic nature of the ocean. Makayla is a fantastic host who desires to meet every need. She responded positively to several of questions and even a request. We recommend Camp Duckabush and the Olympic Peninsula to anyone considering a visit to this area. The location provides access to so many things to do and see.The cabin is a super value, and we would happily return for another stay.

Duckabush/Brinnon

Camp Duckabush: This charming A-frame with sweeping view of Hood Canal provides the quintessential Pacific Northwest estuary experience with Eagle and Heron and jumping salmon abundant!Everything was clean and obviously furnished with loving care. They have carefully appointed the cabin with a compact yet well equipped kitchen along with so many thoughtful details – binoculars and spotting scope snacks and breakfast items, games, barbecue, wood for the fire pit, and even Band-Aids and personal care items. A gas “wood stove” for the cool mornings and a new air conditioner for the warm afternoons kept us super comfortable. We very much enjoyed hiking trails and a couple of eating experiences nearby that you should definitely not miss. Hamma Hamma in particular is an outdoor restaurant that is packed with people lucky enough to know the secret to the freshest and best oysters, clams and Dungeness crab available anywhere! Look it up and make a reservation. Even if you don’t have one, there are great adult beverages and plenty of views and an interesting walk about the oyster farm to make the wait worthwhile. For breakfast, lunch or dessert, the pies and friendly staff up the road at Halfway House in Brinnon exceeded our expectations. You’ve definitely escaped the hustle and bustle of the cities and suburbs out here, where you’ll find it easy to relax and enjoy some serenity… but the cabin has great Wi-Fi if you just have to stay connected! It was a delightful stay for us!
Gorgeous view from main and upper levels.

Oh wow! Such an adorable little cabin! We came to have a little getaway to celebrate our 9th anniversary. The cabin was immaculately clean, very cozy, relaxing decor and had everything we could want and then some! Thank you for the anniversary card! The bedroom was big, beautiful, airy and the bed was soft, but with plenty of support for my bad back. LOVED the bedroom balcony with table/chairs. GREAT view of the Canal. Fans and air conditioner and BBQ and firepit were fabulous! LOVED all the big windows. We woke up each morning to the song of Redwing Blackbirds! Also heard and saw a Bald Eagle the first day. Chickadees, Cedar Waxwings, Flickers. Great spot for birdwatching. Loved the little kitchen, we put the BBQ, toaster, coffee pot and tea pot to good use. So conveniently close to the hiking trailheads in the area. We did 3 "smaller" day hikes while we were staying for a total of about 10 miles and didn't even scratch the surface of all the hiking possibilities. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!! Super highly recommended!
