Andrew, the host was great. He followed up with us while we were there. All the amenities were great. I would have loved to be here in the summer. It was below zero all weekend but we still had so much fun in the game hut, sauna and walking the beautiful trail to the lake. We had deer visiting everyday and the birds were so enjoyable to watch. This is an awesome property and the owners have excellent taste in decorating the cabin. Highly recommend this property!

The cabin was tucked away in the woods and very quiet. The rooms were very clean and the owners had all of the comforts of home. There was very little we needed to bring.

This was my 3rd time staying here. I love this property. Everything is wonderful! Always clean. The host is great. I always have nothing but good things to say. Caught bluegill down by the lake. Had wonderful campfires. It really is a very special place.

Wonderful stay at a lovely property! Exactly as described in the listing, but even better in person. Everything about the place is done “right.” Beds were comfy, towels were soft, water was hot—just wonderful. It feels very secluded, but is still close to the town for groceries, restaurants, golf, etc. There’s a lot to do on the property, both inside and outside! The owner was super easy to work with and communication was great from beginning to end. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Blackberry Lodge. We couldn’t ask for a better host whose excellent communication and attention to detail helped us to feel nothing but relaxed and comfortable. From the tastefully furnished and clean lodge, to the added surprise of the game hut, and everyone’s favorite part - the wonderful trail leading to the beautiful lake. The fishing was amazing, we loved all the water toys, and even our puppy got to swim for the very first time. Thank you so much for allowing us to share your beautiful property. We are looking forward to our next stay.

Beautiful property! Our two teenagers had a great time fishing, swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding, but I have to say this place would have been a dream when they were elementary school age. The clean, clear water in the creeks and lake (which has a nice large shallow area) as well as the paths through the woods would keep smaller explorers happy all day! Super clean, well appointed, great communication with property owner. KRB barbecue was our favorite spot for food and my husband and son enjoyed a round of golf nearby as well. Mama deer and her two babies stopped by a few times as well!

One with nature

Great tranquil place! Loved being in the woods and having my morning coffee on the large deck. Great place for bird watching. Also deer came right up to the back porch. If you like to fish they were bitting wether you were on the dock or out in the boat!!

Perfect property for comfort, fun, and nature loving!

This property and host was my favorite VRBO rental ever. The host was flexible, kind, and responsive. The property was AMAZING, and the lodge had every detail perfect for comfortable enjoyment of nature. Highlights included watching birds and deer at the feeders, walking the trails, watching sunrises and snow fall from the comfy furniture on the covered porch, reading by the fire, kayaking, moving from snow to sauna, playing games in the hut, and quality and affordable dinner at the supper club. The kitchen was well stocked with things most rentals overlook. Comfy beds. Sad we could only stay 2 nights. We plan to return in summer! Thank you for an amazing stay!!!!!!

Amazing property

We love the Wautoma area and this property was one of the best we have stayed at! The house is amazing, the land is beautiful, and the property manager was outstanding! We have already booked another stay here because we loved it so much. A defiant booking if you are in the area.

Family Get Together

This Wautoma cabin provided a fabulous venue for our get together with our son and daughter-in-law for a delayed 40th Birthday celebration for our son. We enjoyed fall walks on the property, biking country roads, a fun fire pit, and watching our son and daughter-in-law introduce their dog to the canoe. The owner was very responsive to all of our questions and I look forward to an opportunity for a repeat visit.

Just what we needed!

We absolutely loved our mini vacation! Got out of the craziness and right into tranquility! Beautiful log home with hiking trails and a great little beach. We even went canoeing which is something we haven’t done since high school church youth group trips. Yep, I’m still kinda sore😉. The weather was perfect and so was our stay at BlackBerry Lodge. Can’t wait to bring the family back in the summer! You guys rock!

Love this place

This was our second time staying at BlackBerry Lodge, and it was just as amazing as the first stay. We enjoy fishing off the dock- very easy to catch bluegill. The cabin is meticulously clean, the host is always available and check-in is easy. We used the grill both times, and it is wonderful. I have nothing but positive things to say about this place.

Nice home tucked away in the woods.

This is a lovely tucked away in the trees type of home. Lot’s of wild life near the property and cute winding paths and trails. The road leading to the house is like having your own personal tunnel of trees which was nice every time we left and returned to the cabin. I will say this is a secluded house in terms of not seeing other homes nearby but as far as sound it's not all that secluded. There is a nearby house across the creek which you can't see but you can definitely hear if they are "noisy neighbors" which in our case our last couple of days they were. Our peaceful, serenity of mother nature, animal, and tree sounds got drowned out from loud blasting music, banging sounds like they were building something or playing very loud yard games. Thankfully it was just the last couple of days of our trip and not our whole trip. Sound really travels. Communication with Andrew was great he answered all questions, responded promptly and was very courteous. We enjoyed the water toys on the lake too, which was very nice. A few suggestions for the house it can use more storage. A table with some drawers along the wall the staircase is on and a small side table next to the sliding door could be helpful as well. Maybe some more shelves under the two existing one’s and books removed from their current location in kitchen to some shelves. The two beds should switch locations as upstairs is bigger more of a master suite. We enjoyed our trip very much and escaped our hectic city lives.

Quiet & Relaxing

The property was good, a beautiful original log cabin including contents. Any problems or questions were handled promptly by the owner. Total seclusion with lighted trails through 7 acres and lake access.

So may things to do...Wake up to sun peeking through the forest off our deck with the sound of a trickling stream in the distance and a view of the lake. Enjoy a fresh cup of coffee listening to the leaves rustling in the wind. Take a nature walk. Explore. Dive into the crystal clear spring fed water from our raft. Let the sand run through your toes on our private beach. Watch the many colorful birds visit our feeders. Play board games from our free selection. Take a canoe ride around the lake. Go fishing.

Visit the rock quarry park in Redgranite and swim in the deep quarry lake. Play horseshoes in our sandy horseshoe pit. Explore the antique shops of Wautoma, Wild Rose, or Berlin and Amish country where quilts, baked goods, furniture, and crafts are sold. Build a fire in our custom limestone fire pit. Have a beer on the deck. Relax. Golf at two challenging public courses less than 5 miles away. Watch a movie on Netflix with FREE popcorn provided. Take your shoes off and explore our sand bottom stream. Catch some frogs. Visit one of the MANY outstanding restaurants less than 5 minutes away. Take a paddle boat ride. Play some foosball . Sit on the dock bench and enjoy our lake views. Get some sun. Visit the farm market in Wautoma.

Throw some steaks on our large stainless steel grill. Have a glass of wine. Relax. Take a 5 minute drive to Nordic Mountain resort, ski or tube in the winter, hike the awesome trails, or take the exciting mountain bike paths in the summer. Listen to great music from Pandora. Watch the birds. Read a book on the deck. Hear that? Silence. Build a night fire and roast some marshmallows. Warm up next to our cozy stone gas fireplace. Visit the log bar in the hut for 'cocktail hour.' Sit on the screened in porch watching the fire. Look at the awesome stars. No city lights here. Take a bike ride on the country tree lined roads. Walk to the lake at night to see the Milky Way. Re-connect with your family and friends!
