Charming Character Cottage, Superb Location, Heated Pool and Services And More!

We were extremely sorry to read your comments on “Les Hortensias” that we feel are totally unjustified. To reply to your various points: - The Cottage is over two centuries old and has been sympathetically restored and decorated to maintain its character. Adding IKEA fittings and furnishings is not our idea of this. - The double bed is 4 years old and is made of solid wood. We have had 16 stone men sleep in it with absolutely no problem. We were only told of the bed incident the day after it happened and it was mended straight away. Strange to see that the screws had been sheared off! - There are mirrors in both bathrooms and we have had towels for two seasons, so they are in good condition. There is a mirror in the double bedroom and a full length mirror on the landing, just outside the twin bedroom, and another full length mirror in the living room – a total of 5 mirrors! - In the kitchen there were all the essential products (in date) and cleaning materials. It helps to plug in the oven and washing machine as they need electricity to work! - The central heating works perfectly well: thermostatically controlled, it cuts out above 20°C. - It is clearly indicated on our website that the pool is open from MID-May. - The exotic wood garden chairs are brand new! You had been using them all week and surprise, surprise, the day before you left one had been broken. Leaving without even telling us of your accident is basically very bad manners as is bringing your mother (making 5 people in a 4 people property) without even asking/letting us know! We had bent over backwards and bit our tongues more than once to be kind to you (even offering to do the end of stay cleaning as a gesture of good faith) and can hardly believe in your terrible attitude and behaviour. We resent your comments as they are unfounded. As you did not getting the partial refund you were hoping for (on a letting at just over £55 per night) you have tried your utmost to belittle the accommodation. We have been welcoming guests to “Les Hortensias” for many years and have hundreds of very satisfied families.
