Welcome to the most family friendly rental on East Beach! You will be 6 houses from the surf and one mile to some of the best restaurants on the island. A short bike ride will get you to the Pier or Red-fern Village. Driftwood Cottage provides you with all that you might need for a relaxing stay. A fully equipped kitchen and basic linens mean less packing for you. Our island and the surrounding area are packed with wonderful things to do outside and our peasant year-round weather allows you do to them all. However, when you do come home to Driftwood, you'll find family games and puzzles, cable TV, DVD, and wireless internet access for your enjoyment.
The cottage is decorated with an eye for unique vintage finds. Located half-way down Bruce Lane on quiet East Beach, one of St Simons oldest, most established family friendly neighborhoods, Driftwood Cottage offers the perfect location for a family vacation or a romantic getaway for two. Please check our availability calendar for your dates of interest. (*Please note that home is considered available until 50% deposit is received.) Driftwood is pet friendly. The pet fee is $200 for the first pet and $50 each additional pet up to three pets total.

Very roomy, great for family time. Could use a little more detailing on cleaning ex. dining room table and silverware. But all in all I would recommend for family vacation, great location and not so commercialized area.

Fantastic location

Visited St Simon's for a wedding and the location of this cottage could not have been better. We were able to walk to the beach wedding on 11th street and then reception, which was right nearby. Cottage was large, had plenty of space and in a great neighborhood, exactly what we needed.

Fantastic Location

We enjoyed our stay at this property. Plenty of space. I liked how the top and bottom floors each had their own AC Unit. Super convenient beach access. Communication was also swift and clear.

Family trip

Our family had a great stay. My two nieces were excited that the bedspreads on the two single beds looked like Bluey and Bingo’s beds. Host was helpful and left clear instructions for everything with check in/out. Walkable distance to the beach even with our 7 month old.

Short family getaway

Communication with host was great-fast response. Everything was perfect for family of 12. We loved the the outside porch areas and lots of space, beds and seating for everyone. Will definitely want to come back!

Beautiful St. Simons

The house was beautiful and it is a great location. A very short walk to the beach. We saw trails of where 2 sea turtles came up and laid eggs. The only thing that was disappointing was that it was advertised that there was a grill at the house. We had to go and buy one.

Friend's Bday

We went to St. Simons and had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful house! It was very clean, had great furnishings and lots of space for 3 couples. It's within walking distance to the beach and is a beautiful easy walk. The house is well stocked with necessities in kitchen and bathrooms. Can't wait to book our next stay there!

Comfortable Beach Escape

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! From communication prior to check in through our check out Gena and Mark were wonderful hosts. The cottage is quite roomy and very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked and the location was so convenient to the beach. This is a great beach getaway!

Wonderful Family time and great fun!

Mark and Gena were great! They even dropped by just after we arrived and we were delighted to meet them. The cottage was such and interesting place with, I suspect, many stories to tell. We enjoyed the style of the house and looking at all the decorating. The beach was a short walk and we enjoyed mornings, days and evenings at the beach. St. Simons island was enjoyed by all of our families in different ways. Food was very good and the neighborhood is very nice. We will hopefully be back and will contact Matk and Gena first. Thank you for a wonderful time!!!

Summer 2022

The property owner was great about responding and even let me know as soon as the cleaning crew said they were done. My big complaint, which was addressed with owner already, was the cleanliness of the house. The only thing I believe the cleaning crew did was change the sheets and if beds were made they didn't change them, had to wash some before sleeping that night. The floor hadnt been mopped in a long time, my grandbabies feet where black from walkimg around barefooted in the house. I had to buy stuff to mop the floor with. The house was very dusty, so if allergies, not the house for you right now. One of the upstairs bedrooms, with twin beds in it, had so much dust on ceiling fan it has blown it all on the ceiling. There also needs to be more towels and wash clothes because there only 10 towels 6 wash clothes with no extra in any closets. The size of the house was great and we loved the screened porch to sit talk at night. The house is in a great location to the beach. My suggestion is fire your cleaning crew and find you a single mom that needs the money, she will do a much better job for the $$$ spent on cleaning fees.(pet deposit included)

As a military family, we moved about every two years for the past 30. One of the few traditions for our family was an annual summer vacation to the Golden Isles (as long as we were stationed in the US as the time). When retirement loomed, we asked the kids where we should go. They said, 'Let's go home to St. Simons!' It was the one place where our vagabond family could truly call home. We had been here on the island a year when the cottage came on the market and Mark and I jumped at the chance to make this beautiful piece of history our own. After several months of renovations and careful updating, it is ready to share with you!

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

Driftwood is a brick two story 1940's beach cottage located in one of St Simons oldest and most sought after neighborhoods, East Beach. Much of the home's original vintage charm has been kept with important modern conveniences added for your comfort. This 4 bedroom, 3 bath charmer offers 2400 square feet under heat and air as well as 2 screened porches (one off the downstairs master and another off the guest bedrooms upstairs), a large deck off the upstairs master, and two patios. There is covered outdoor space for bikes and beach toys as well as an outside shower and a two car garage..
The kitchen is complete with basic appliances, a microwave, and, a coffee pot. There are also full laundry facilities in the cottage. The great room includes custom floors, a working tabby fireplace, a 42' flatscreen, a DVD player, and comfy inviting furniture. Wireless high speed internet is also included as well as family games and puzzles. Four large bedrooms include walk in closets. The master is tropical themed with a queen bed. Two of the guest bedrooms upstairs open onto the best room in the house, the upstairs screen porch! It offers an iron bed and vintage wicker furniture as well as ocean breezes! One of the upstairs bedrooms has a full bed and is decorated with a vintage feel. The other has two twin beds, perfect for kids. The 4th bedroom upstairs is is a large bunk room with a queen and a comfortable pull out sofa and an ensuite.
