401 Summer House condo is on Isle of Palms, right on the beach! Back on VRBO in 2024 for the full after three years of exterior upgrades!

Our building is ocean front and with the consent exposure to the wind and salt, it was time for our building to have a structure and foundation evaluation. Now I t has been newly renovated over the past three years. Not only has the metal structure been reinforced with multiple coating, the foundation has newly poured concrete footings, and the walkways and balconies, elevators, stairways, lighting, and exterior ceilings have been upgraded! It's like brand new!

The ocean views will greet and astound you the second you walk off of the elevator! This vacation beach house is in the Award Winning, private, gated golf and ocean club community, Wild Dunes in Isle of Palms, SC. This very private, spacious, end unit condo directly faces the beach and is situated so that it is closest to the beach. Stunning ocean views up and down the shoreline.

The unit 401 is located on fourth floor of a five-story building, high enough for spectacular views. This oceanfront condo directly faces the beach and is situated closest to the beach with other units fading away behind it from the ocean for maximum privacy and stunning ocean views. The oceanfront balcony runs the width of the unit and has access from the large open living area as well as two of the three bedrooms. Recently remodeled, this beautiful condo is decorated with coastal-style furnishings and we stay there often ourselves.

Before buying this condo, we rented one of the Summerhouse condos every summer. So I have our condo how Iā€™d like to have it as if I were renting it for my family, including a keyless entry door, a storm glass front door, a Keurig, coffee pots, kitchen spices, large pots and slow cooker, beach chairs, master closet open for use, movies/books/games, double ice-maker refrigerator, and x-large washer/dryer. There is a Harris Teeter grocery and package store on the island as you first come off the Connector, which is very close and convenient! The space includes a dining room, pantry and dinette in the kitchen, laundry room with washer and dryer. There is wireless high-speed internet; four (4) flat screen TVs with Blu-ray players; HBO/Showtime channels; comfortable couches & cozy chairs with light blankets to cuddle-up for a good movie after beach hours! There are plenty of books, games, and puzzles for your enjoyment! The main area has a smart TV, so donā€™t forget your movie APP account login, like Netflix.

Private, residents only swimming pool with spacious sundeck and beach walkway with showers for beach access.

We have beach chairs available in the condo for your use, and IOP beach chair company offers their own umbrellas and beach chairs to rent as well. Plus, they conveniently set them up and take them down for you each day so you don't have to! You can also rent bikes, boards, beach carts, and more through them for your stay! BEDROOMS - The three bedrooms each have their own bathroom and TV/video players. Two bedrooms have King beds, sliding glass doors to the balcony, windows with ocean views and bright early morning sun, but also blackout curtains! The third room has two (2) Full beds, addā€™l VHS player with childrenā€™s video library. Extra sleeping: couch is a pull-out Queen bed with a Tempur-pedic mattress. All bedroom closets are available for your use. Pillowtop mattresses with quality protector pads; plenty of pillows; two portable fans; all linens and towels are provided.

BALCONY ā€“ If not on the beach, our favorite place is the balcony. It overlooks the ocean and you can see up and down the beach. It can be accessed through the living room and two bedrooms. Watch the dolphins, boats, and children playing on the beach. Bring your binoculars to watch the dolphins trail behind the shrimp boats or the cargo ships far out in the channel. Relax with a good book and when you see high tide, you know itā€™s time to get out for body surfing.

KITCHEN - The clean, white kitchen is fully equipped and ready to entertain. It's open to the dining room table and living room.

WASHER/DRYER ā€“ x-large Samsungs

The condo will be professionally cleaned prior to your arrival. Check-in time is 4 PM and check-out is 10 AM. No pets or smoking allowed. In fact, Wild Dunes does not allow renters to bring their dogs, only property owner dogs.

When our condo is not rented, it begs my family to come stay, but with hunting season approaching in Tennessee ā€“ thatā€™s a tough call for the guys. I, myself, go down frequently and make improvements with each visit.

Had a great time! The walk to the beach was so convenient. Beautiful views, great weather, and the little ones loved it. The place is very comfortable and well equipped for cooking and lazing around.. Sunsets and sunrise were gorgeous.

This condo, the Wild Dunes resort, and Isle of Palms all exceeded our expectations this summer. Having stayed in rentals all over the East and Gulf Coast for many years, weā€™ve had our share of disappointments arising from misleading descriptions, but this was everything it promised to be. 10/10 highly recommend.

Perfect Family Vacation

Wonderful property as depicted in pics. Quick walk to the ocean and pool for full or partial water days with our kids and teenaged grands. They were 7 of us and we had plenty of space, showers and comfy beds. The indoor panoramic ocean views from two bedrooms, living room and long covered deck were picture perfect while we enjoyed game nights. We were close to so many wonderful locally owned restaurants that we thoroughly enjoyed. We also had all we needed to cook many of our meals in the well stocked kitchen. Julie is readily available and so helpful. One of easiest owners we have worked with. Thanks Julie for a wonderful family vacation!

Girls Spring Break Trip

We all loved this condo from the minute we stepped inside! It felt very clean and inviting, and we instantly felt at home. I was so pleasantly surprised to find many extra amenities we didnā€™t expect such as fans in the bedrooms (great for white noise lovers!), lots of extra pillows on the beds, and plenty of nice clean white bath towels in all the bathrooms. The beach itself is gorgeous and so easy to walk. I understand now why they call it ā€œWild Dunesā€, itā€™s breathtakingly pristine on this end of the island. The owner texted me a few days into our stay to be sure that everything was meeting our expectations, which I thought was so nice, and again before we left to let us know we could add a day to our stay if we wished. She was also quite flexible with our check in and check out times which we very much appreciated. Thank you, Julie, for a wonderful stay. I would definitely come back here again!

Perfect for Our Family

This was our second time vacationing here and we absolutely love it! The condo is beautiful and in an amazing location. The balcony overlooks the beach. You are very close to the pool. And the beach has just the right amount of people. Not too crowded at all. We used a local chair/umbrella rental company, so had a reserved spot of our own on the beach every day. Love the area. The condo is perfect for our family of six and we canā€™t wait to return next summer!

Property was exactly as described. It was equipped with everything we needed to have a great week in Wild Dunes. The panoramic view from the balcony was a favorite retreat after a long day at the beach and pool. The biking paths in the resort were much nicer than I had expected and we enjoyed exploring.

Heaven at the beach

Our stay at 401 Summerhouse was perfect. The communication was excellent, the location was exactly what we wanted, the condo was lovely with a well appointed kitchen. We spent most of our time at the condo sitting on the balcony looking at and listening to the ocean, the beach, the birds. We hope to go back in the future.

A+ We are frequent VRBO renters and 401 Summerhouse is one of the best appointed places we have stayed in! It makes a vacation extra nice when the property provides so many of the little things you will need or may need during your stayā€¦like: trash bags, laundry detergent/stain spray/dryer sheets, liquid hand soap and room spray for each bathroom, beach chairs, awesome chairs for the porch. I could go on and on with this! All appliances are new. Decor is current. There is an actual pantry! Julie and her family have a lovely place, in a great location, with thoughtful extras. So appreciated!!!

Beautiful Condo, Great owner!

We just completed a week stay and didnā€™t want to leave! The condo is beautiful and the views are unbeatable. Itā€™s located inside Wild Dunes, its prime season the beach isnā€™t crowded and they area feels safe and homey. Julie was awesome to work with. We had two families, teens ans adults. Super short walk to beach, the teens loved the pool at night, we walked the mile up to Sweetgrass Inn for ice cream and drinks at Hudsons Market a few times. There are restaurants in wild dunes and isle of palms, we mostly ate in Charleston and Mt Pleasant for dinner but you could stay on the island the whole time if you wanted we had too many in Charleston we wanted to try. Our stay was great, we will definitely recommend!

This beautiful condo with windows to view the beach for all directions was spot on amazing. We came seeking family time, rest, relaxation and life sat! We have been vacationing at Summer House since our honeymoon in May 1988. We feel lucky to have purchased the end unit being closest to the beach and we enjoy this location even more than ever!

Location, location, location!

When you walk into our condo, the first thing that you notice is the ocean straight ahead. Besides the beautiful beach-decors in the condo, the brightness of the full ocean views speak for itself "you picked the right place".

Summer House is a favorite along the beach front. With rubberized coating on the building being rust free, routine maintenance, and every year a major facility improvement is completed. It is beautiful!

The elevator is just outside our front door. Carts to move suitcases and groceries are available.

We have a full beach in front of Summer House villas. Wild Dunes with the City of Isle of Palms continue beach restoration! We have been lucky and have had a full beach in front of Summerhouse since the 2008 beach restoration project via hydraulic dredging of 885,000 cubic yards of beach quality sand. Beach restoration has continued since, ensuring plenty of beach. Again in 2017, both directions south and north of Summer House had sand dredging completed, adding even more in front of our condo. The dunes have continued to grow and protect our beach.

There is a full beach all the way around to the bay opening. It's a nice walk on the beach, or bike ride. Bike riding at low-tide is common and fun.

Since I get questions about taking elderly parents on the beach, it is a walk on sand to the ocean but for the most part it is flat, packed sand and easy to walk on. If youā€™re bringing an elderly loved one or someone with walking difficulties, consider renting a beach-accessible wheelchair. There are a couple local places, but you may want to rent in advance of your stay for availability. Go to iopbeachchair.com
