Great remote lakefront property

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved the remote location and the beautiful lake. The house was larger than we needed and tucked away in the woods. We enjoyed having kayaks to take out onto the lake. The kitchen is a small galley kitchen. One other thing to note is that the dock and space down at the lake front is exactly west facing. This means in the summer from about 6:30 on it's hard to sit at the dock and look out at the lake because the sun is in your eyes and it's reflecting on the lake directly at you. Not a deal breaker but good to know.

Francestown home on pond

think my 2 year old grandson summed it up on one word as the look out from the screened in porch to the pond --- AMAZING! Would return again and highly recommend!

Secluded retreat

5 of us High School friends met at this property for a girls weekend. We were impressed with the beautiful and secluded setting and the lovely pond. We swam, and hiked, and ate and listened to the silence. The seclusion is wonderful, but make sure to stop at the grocery store before hand, there isn't a full store close by. Though well stocked and in great condition, the kitchen is small. Perfect for small meals and snacks, but might not be great for cooking a large elaborate meal. It really was a perfect property if you are looking for peace and quiet and a beautiful view.

Second stay

This is our second vacation here in a year (20/21). We love this location, find it extremely restful and pleasing. We were disappointed that the second canoe still leaks and the seat on the second kayak is still missing. But overall an excellent experience and we all love this home/location.

Peaceful

Beautiful lake with dock. Enjoyed hearing the loons and kayaking near a pair of loons with their baby. Comfortable for our two families and great times on the water and relaxing in the deck or screened in porch.

Annual Fishing Trip

Nice property in a very secluded area. Easy access to water, dock was great for tying up boat and to fish off. House was roomy and had nice living room and sitting area, screened in porch was great with a great view. Kitchen area was a little tight and TV/wi-fi was a little challenging, but otherwise a great spot, would go again...

The Perfect Private Getaway

Great vacation

This is a beautiful, peaceful spot and we enjoyed our time here immensely. The house is lovely and the platform and dock at water's edge was well used. We played yard games and enjoyed the boats. We walked to the village store but called for a ride to return :) I highly recommend this property.

Relaxing family get away

We thoroughly enjoy our stay with the private water front. The pond was lovely and key for our trip as the kids barely came out of the water. We had 2 age 6 and 4 and 3 year old and the pond was perfect. There is not a lot to do around the area but we didn’t want that. The screened in porch was the place we spent most of our time and it was perfect. Thank you for sharing your home!

Exactly what we expected

We had a great experience too to bottom. Not only was the rental company communicative, but the process was incredibly easy. The place was exactly as expected. Charming and quiet. The water was the only question mark since it’s listed as a pond. It’s most definitely a lake and the water is clean and beautiful and the family enjoyed swimming the entire time we were there.

Relaxing getaway

Comfortable home on a beautiful lake. We greatly enjoyed swimming, floating, boating, and meals on the screened in porch, listening to the loons. Perfect size for our two families of three. A quiet and relaxing location. We would stay again!

Beautiful serene location

Serene and quiet location. I don’t think we heard a car the whole time we were there! Everything was clean and great for our stay with 6 adults and 4 young children. The lake was a little high when we went so we you stepped in from the dock it was about 2-3ft deep. So if you have kids remember their swimmies! We had a wonderful time

Great place

Amazing place..sooo quiet! Mother Nature dd not cooperate so spent time inside playing games and visiting with friends and family. Only suggestions I would make is maybe add some shelves in kitchen so counters could be cleared for prep work..put handles on pantry (very hard to open)..and maybe an extra table in TV room for playing games? But we worked it out and would love to go back..

BEAUTIFUL Family Trip

The home was clean and had everything you could want while away from home on a family adventure (from kitchen supplies, grill needs and games to linens, towels and bathroom supplies). And the property - just beautiful. Our kids had a wonderful time swimming, fishing and canoeing (so did we). Thank you for a great stay !!! We can't wait until next year...

Great Getaway

The pictures of this house really don't do it any justice. The space is small but we had a group of 7 and had plenty of space. the view from the porch is great and being right on the water you couldn't ask for a better location. It was very secluded and quiet with only 1 other house on the road. Pond was warm and we had a great time swimming and using the canoe and kayak. Caught a few nice fish right off the dock. Overall nice place. Only wish we had bigger yard for games and activities and a late checkout would've been great. other than that we really enjoyed our stay and will certainly be back.

Tiny rooms, unsafe stairs and ill equipped dirty kitchen

This property is far from what it is advertised as on here. The bedrooms are SO SMALL, you can barely move in them. The kitchen is the same way- only one person can comfortably be in there at a time. It was greasy, nasty & had a sour smell. The table and counter tops and porch were sticky. The custom staircase was SO DANGEROUS...we had 5 children with us and couldn't let the babies crawl anywhere upstairs without following directly behind them. The gate they provided does not fit or work at all. Not family friendly if your kids can go tumbling down the stairs. We asked for a late checkout weeks in advance which we were granted and the housekeeper still showed up at 10 and acted annoyed when we reminded her that we weren't leaving until 12. We started the laundry and the kitchen was spotless but we were still charged for a bunch of bogus, nit picking issues almost 2 weeks after checkout. Needless to say we will not be visiting this property in the future and we would not recommend it either. Pretty unfortunate as it came with a hefty price tag. I hope people read this review and pass this property right by- you will have a much better time somewhere else!!!

Beautiful week with friends

This is a lovely and comfortable home on a peaceful pond in Francestown. I came with two friends to take part in a singing/hiking adventure in the Monadnock region. We hiked all day and came home to kayak, canoe and swim before having dinner on the screened in porch. It was a perfect retreat from our busy day-to-day lives.

Beautiful, secluded lakefront home

This is the perfect place to getaway and unwind. It's tucked away in a sleepy NH town and not touristy at all. The house is beautiful and well maintained. Plenty of room for families with kids. We'll definitely be going back.
